Name: Ryla Amelia Banks is her birth name [Pronunciation;; Rye - La, A - Meel - Ee - A, Banks]. She found out a while ago that her name is hard to shorten, as neither Rye nor La can be considered proper nicknames.

These are all words that could be used to describe her appearance. Ryla has blonde hair which naturally falls in messy clumps around her head, so much that she has given up on brushing it. For her brushing to make any difference, she would probably have to brush her hair for around an hour, until it will finally be straight, instead of a frizzy bush. It falls past her shoulders and to just below her chest, framing her oval face. Her eyes are a sky blue, framed by light brown eyebrows and dark, long eyelashes. Her nose is well proportioned and aligned on her face, though she has a rather large forehead. Her dark pink lips contain a broad grin, which shows off her white teeth and dimples. Fortunately, the girl seems to have left her acne stage behind, with a blackhead every so often being the worst that it gets.
She would be considered around average for a seventeen year old girl, standing at 5'9 and weighing 114 lbs precisely. She is quite slim, yet still mildly curvy, though I can tell you that her lack of fat is not due to little food, oh no. Infact, coming from District 1, Ryla is very well off. Her slender body type come from her physical training as a Career tribute. As well as being slender and curvy, she is also rather muscular, again from training. This is something that Ryla despises, or, to be more precise, the fact that her calves seem to be the most muscular. When she looks at them, she sees over-sized legs, with no potential whatsoever, ignoring the fact that she can only run so fast due to these large calves. Her skin is rather pale, which is only heightened in the winter, and she neither freckles nor tans.

Ryla has been called many things in her lifetime, and eccentric has definitely been one of them. It is unknown how she has developed this outlook on life, though some speculate that it may be because of her upbringing, which has told her that violence is right and even expected of her. Indeed, this is how she views violence - for better results, violence must be brought into it, and it is the only way to get what you want. Her laugh that seems slightly insane and that comes in at random points in conversation can often out others off, too. This laugh is due to her ability to mentally multitask - as in, she can be daydreaming and speaking to someone at the same time. This does not reflect into her physical abilities, however, for if she tries to do two things at once, she tends to fail.
She is very smart, though in the sense that she is cunning. An impulsive liar, Ryla seems to have a gift for acting, making even the most ridiculous of lies seem plausible. Even if she is asked a simple question, such as her name or age, she will sometimes lie, just to see if she can pull it off. This can lead her into some sticky situations, though she then uses her sharp mouth to get herself out of it. Her keen interest in lying and her seemingly eccentric attitude couples up, and people tend to generally avoid her out of fear. However, once she gets close to people, she is a sweet girl, and fiercely protective. To those more innocent and naive than her, she tends to become more of a motherly figure. She is quite a bit of a potty-mouth, though she swears less around children, and sarcasm takes up most of her vocabulary.
As far as talents go, it is mostly physical ones that Ryla has. This is, of course, due to her Career training. Her long legs have always assisted her in running swiftly, and exercises where she would hold her breath for certain amounts of time have helped with her stamina. As for climbing, she is fairly good, though she does tend to not test the branches first. This often ends up in her choosing a weaker branch and falling to the ground - something which is not fun. She has good aim, though not perfect, and is certainly not prepared to challenge someone to a wrestling match. She would consider herself fairly strong, but considering the size of some of the men in the arena, in hand-to-hand combat she wouldn't stand a chance. Her preferred weapon is a whip, though that is rather rare, so she would settle for an axe or a sword instead.
When she is in a bad mood, she becomes rather cold and violent, either yelling at you, attacking you, or downright ignoring you. She has a short-temper, and there is often a time where you won't even realize that you have upset her. She uses backhand insults, so that others don't realize she is being cruel. She also dislikes things being unfair - if they're unfair to her. Otherwise, she is perfectly content with it, and so I suppose you could say she is biased.

Ryla Amelia Banks was born to Jade Michelle Banks and Piper Scott. To sum it all up; it broke, if you get what I mean. Ryla was an accident. Not only that, but Jade was married to someone else at the time of the one-night-stand - a Mister Will Banks. She never told him that Ryla wasn't his, or anyone for that matter, not even Ryla herself. Ryla is blissfully unaware of the fact that she has a different father, as well as several half-siblings. She does, however, know of some of her siblings, the ones that belong to both Jade and Will. Her eldest brother Charlie, aged twenty-one and her younger sister Lucy, aged fifteen.
There used to be another member of the Banks family, Stephen, who would have been nineteen if he had not died. He was fifteen, Ryla only thirteen, when he was caught poaching and hung in front of the other residents of District 1. The family are not sure why he was poaching - after all, their family certainly weren't desperate for food. For a while, the Banks family became a family of pity, but desperate to make people forget of the tragedy, Will threw himself into the training of his children, only accepting the best. Maybe the loss of her brother was what turned Ryla mildly eccentric.
Ryla had a good relationship with both of her siblings, but the closest had always been Lucy. She saw herself as a motherly figure in the girl's life, and whenever Lucy is around, she acts much more.. normal. Less eccentric and wild, and more like the girl she underneath - a sweet, loving sister. She knows that she is a potential role model for her younger sister, and so is hoping she will never get to see the violent side of her. All Ryla really does is train for the Games, talk to her siblings and go to school. Of course, there are more things - for example, she works - but these are what she spends most of her time doing.
