Maaren has dark brown hair that falls to her shoulders. It is rather wavy and she never does anything with it except put it in a ponytail when she's working. Her eyes are light brown and wide. Her eyelashes are dark and long.

Her skin is a nice olive color and very natural. Her lips are a soft pink color and are always very soft. Her eyebrows are dark but neatly trimmed. Her face is kind-looking and heart shaped.

Her body structure is thin but lean. She's just over average height at 5"8 but that doesn't stop her from wearing what she wants. Her style is casual but modest.

Personality:

Maaren is the kind of person who has her opinion on things and she likes to voice it but only when the time seems appropriate. She knows when to shut her mouth on certain subjects and when to speak up at the right time. Maaren tries not to draw attention to herself, especially when she runs off to her secret place to draw and think freely.

She is casual and cool when people attempt to look into her life and get to know her but what they don't know is that it's always an act. There's even act behind the act. No one except for Maaren's grandfather has seen the real her. He's long dead now but she still believes that somehow he knows what's going on.

Maaren's downfall is, in fact, the real her. The shy, struggling artist who loves to think of outrageous things and do daring things. The kind of thing you do by yourself or with someone just as outrageous and daring as herself. Why is it her downfall? Because she loves that side of her but no one else would understand it so she hides behind the cool of her act.

History:

Maaren lives with her mother after a nasty separation from her father when she was younger. Her older brother often comes to visit but he lives with their dad across town and much prefers it there. Maaren chose to live with her mother because as a child, her father often drank and become out of hand. She found that rather scary and didn't want to stick around to find out if it would get worse.

Maaren's brother was her closest friend for a while. Being two years older than her, that is reasonable. They lost their strong friendship when he chose to stay with their father. Maaren hates when he comes over now because she knows he will end up like their father. It kills her inside but she puts up that wall and nothing appears to hurt.

Maaren always felt the divorce was her fault. She felt that she pushed her father to drink more by not meeting his expectations of a smart, perfect child like her brother did which caused his actions towards her mother and herself. It honestly wasn't her fault. Her father just didn't love her mother. But she believes it and there's no changing her mind.
