The barred door behind her was slammed shut and she heard the lock click, locking her inside this madness. She tried to stand but her head pounded, mostly from the brutal treatment she'd recieved in the last twenty-four hours. She stumbled to her feet and cried out as she hit her head on something, she felt the back of her head and sighed in relief as she found no blood coming from the wound. She was tired, sore, starving, and confused. Why had the peace keepers come after her? She knew why. It was because she'd gone into the woods. Curiosity had gotten the better of her and she'd gone under the fence. she looked around the prison cell and found everything to be in stark shape. The beds were made of metal as were the shelves and the pot in the corner she assumed was for doing her business in. She immediately hated it. She hated being trapped like an animal. She shouldn't be here! She should be back at home in district six with her parents and family around her. At least she wouldn't be going into the games. But, there were worse fates than death. She plopped down on one of the beds and found it to be uncomfortable, hard. She groaned, feeling tears prick behind her eyes before she remembered that she wasn't alone. She sat up, looking at the girl across from her. She didn't know her but she felt she might as well make friends with her cell mate, lest she ever need an ally in this place. She smiled as well as she could and extended her hand. "Hello." She said, hoping this girl would at least be somewhat better company than the peace keepers who had brought her here.

Echo Lane

I just needed to help my family, that was all. I didn't understand the treatment I was getting. Of course I didn't go down fighting. All of it was a blur to me, the woods, me shooting down my prey, then the peacekeepers. All I want is out of this tiny cell, to be free again, to walk into the woods.

The fest grip of the peacekeepers were still haunting my arm, even though it was already hours ago as they pulled me up. I kicked and punched, though not a peep came out of my mouth, I was silent, thanks to my stupid curse.

Now I was in this horrid little cell, with not much room. The first hour, I sent kicking the wall, shaking the bars and giving all the peacekeepers my best death stare. After a while I found it hopeless and retreated into a small corner, letting my orange hair fall in front of my pale face, and began to cry.

Few hours later entered another girl, she tried making herself comfortable on one of those stone-hard beds. I rolled my eyes, how dumb can one be. As she walked up to me and said hello, she stretched out her hand. I eyed her for a moment, trying to analyze her, then took her hand and shook it and gave her a friendly smile. I wish I could talk to her, though I was cursed in silentness.

At least that was something. What was happening to me didn't quite sink in at that moment but after a little while of being in that damned cell, I really began to understand that this was for real. Being here also meant that tomorrow, I wouldn't have access to the medication I usually took for my ADD, to which I was addicted, and that would mean that tomorrow, my cell mate would have the pleasure of dealing with me while I was in withdrawl. I'm so sorry I thought, feeling pity for the girl. "Just a warning, tomorrow I'm cut off from the medication that I normally take for my ADD so I will be going through withdrawl and I may be a little bit violent" I said, meeting her gaze with my brown-green eyes. She had pretty orange hair and it made me wonder what she'd done to get herself in this place. "Can you talk at all?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. </div>

I opened my mouth to tell her it didn't matter, that I had my own anger issues. Then that's when I remembered I couldn't make a natural sound, and stomped my foot as hard as I could against the pavement. I looked back up to the girl and made a waving gesture with my hand to tell her it didn't matter.

I didn't mind her question, she did have the right to know what was going on with me, since we were probably going to die in this cold damp cell.I shook my head, it would be hard to communicate, but we were going to manage somehow, I managed with my sisters after all.
