.:Personality:.Lavender has light brown wavy hair that falls to a little past her shoulders. Every time in the sunlight, a reddish hue glows from the strands. She has stormy blue eyes and her lips possess a light peachy shade. She is quite small for her age, being 5’3”. She has pale skin with a healthy glow and a very narrow and slim face. Her ribs are clearly visible as well as her clavicles ( collar bones ) and cheek bones. Lavender’s wispy hair and the fact that her father gave her mother the flowers earned the girl her name.
She has strong legs and is usually the winner of races she participates in at the Seam, even though she isn’t much of a distance runner. She has a slight and thin frame giving her the ability to be very swift and agile. She is very skinny to the fact you can see most of her bones and isn’t very muscular at all. She would use speed over strength.
She usually likes to where a plain black tank top, ripped hand-me-down jeans, worn combat boots, and a faded jean jacket that matches her dull blue eyes. She also has one mini pinecone earring and withered fingerless gloves. She likes to wear her hair up in a ponytail, leaving only her bangs to cover the sides of her face.
Lavender is very shy and quiet. She doesn’t socialize at school at all and barely anyone even knows she exists. She doesn’t have many friends in 12 and is always the wallflower. She never talks to anyone and keeps to herself. Due to this, she has barely any social skills whatsoever..:History:.
Lavender is quite clever and smart. This helps her family for she can make very complex traps using this. She can memorize all edible plants and is a quick learner. However, when she is too eager she usually goes too fast and messes up. She aces schools and her grades are consistently decent. She is quite creative and has a great mind to let it flow. She is finds nearly everything useful and is very inventive. She likes to plan out everything but usually finds herself thinking too far ahead in the future.
Lavender likes to do everything by herself. She doesn’t like to be ordered around or told what to do. She doesn’t like to be helped and gets a little snappy if you get in her way or go against her decisions. Lavender is really distrusting towards strangers. She doesn’t have any allies because she always has that creeping suspicion they’ll stab her in the back. Like, literally. She is very insecure and sometimes doesn’t even trust herself to make the right decisions, let alone anyone else.
Lavender can be pretty funny if you befriend her. She likes to joke around and seems to make bad situations a little brighter. Most people never really know that she can be like this though. She is so defensive most people would never think that she would goof off. However, she knows when it’s ok to mess around and when it’s not.
Lavender is a bit hotheaded. She is hard to warm up to and never lets anyone in. She has a tongue sharper than a knife and knows how to put words in ways that cut deep. She isn’t easily convinced of anything. She doesn’t let anyone get into her way. She wants to be remember as the girl who fought back, not the one who never stepped up to the challenge.
Lavender is the only child in the Hoss family. She has two alive parents who still live together. When she was three, they found a gray kitten on the streets. Lavender named her moon because that night, it was full and because it was one of the only words she knew. She took many traits from her mother and father. She got her dark brown hair and freckles from her father and her blue-gray eyes, curly hair, slim shape, and narrow face from her mother. She was named Lavender because her father had given her mother the flowers when they first met as well as her evident wispy hair. As Lavender grew up, she spent a lot of time with her parents. During the day, her mother showed her how to hunt. She also taught her the edible plants and basic survival skills, just in case her daughter did get reaped. That was where she gained her skill for throwing knives. She always seemed to have a knack for them. All of this happened while her father was in the mine. But at night, it was dad’s turn. He taught her how to sing and all about the cruel capitol. That is how she had developed her hate for everything that had to do with the capitol; electricity, careers, and especially the games. Her father used to be a wanderer but stopped her when he fell in love with her mother. Lavender soon became jealous of wanderers but realized if she ran away there would be punishment. However, her father taught her to be a stargazer. He taught her to use the sky to guide her home.
Lavender grew to be strong and tough in public, but would usually cry herself to sleep every night, not liking herself at all. Moon was always there, though. Lavender grew used to having the warm body of her cat next her, keeping the nightmares away. Especially when she turned 12 and the chance of being picked towered over her.
Being the only child, Lavender was completely lost during the reaping. She had no one who would guide her or tell her what to do. She had to pick up everything on her own. Her family is quite poor, so every year, Lavender takes one or two tesserae every year, depending on how well the game is coming in. When she turn 12, they had to get two. 13, two as well. But as her hunting skills increased, her tessera necessity deteriorated. The past two years she only needed to get one. So far, she has her name entered 9 times. Though Lavender hates the capitol, true fear strikes at her every reaping.
