Appearance:

At first glance, Samuel Wavery appears to be slight of build, physically; however, years of swimming, catching fish, and being around the water have made Samuel stronger than he appears. His 6'1" height and long lean legs made him a better swimmer over other teenagers in his district, as they made him graceful yet powerful in the water. Years of being outdoors in and around the water, made his naturally dark brown hair turn almost a blonde color, and his skin a golden tan color. But yet his most prominent feature is his upper body, which was the classic "swimmer's V shape" which means that his shoulders are the widest part of his body and when his arms are down at his side, and the swimmers "V" shape is apparent. But while Samuel's physical appearance make him a good tribute candidate, it was his fishing and spear skills, i.e. survival skills, that make him an exceptional career tribute candidate.

As his fingers are also lean, they were perfect for making intricate hooks and nets unfortunately one day Samuel while attempting to make a complicated net while he was fishing he slipped out if his boat and broke his nose, he wanted to fix it but he has kept it as a reminder to be careful at all times. But while Samuel's appearance was so outwardly physical attractive, he is sometimes judged based on his outward appearance and not for who he is on the inside. He could utilize this to his advantage in the games if he were reaped and manipulate the sponsors with his looks.

Personality:

Samuel is really a nice guy deep down inside. His family is one of the wealthiest in the district but he doesn't think it makes him above everyone else, in fact he helps whenever possible but unfortunately it isn't that often for Samuel. He often helps in whatever capacity he can, whether its helping people fish or teaching people how to make nets.

Samuel is becoming conflicted within himself. He knows being from district four that he will most likely be approached by other tributes from the "career" districts. He has a lot of skills that could help him out in the arena but does he want to enter the games and take however many lives it may be in order to make it out alive?, he isn't sure on what he wants to do if he is reaped for the games and that scares Samuel with the uncertainty of the hunger games.

There has been some whispers not many but there has been some whispers that because Samuel is very attractive for his age that he manipulates people into doing what he wants by using his looks. Samuel knows its not true at least right now, but he cant truly deny that if he has to use his looks to survive then that is what he shall do.

History:

Samuel Wavery has a medium sized family. Both of his parents work as fishermen. Samuel has two brothers and one sister. He feels like the family is being torn apart because of the whole "Honor to win the games for your district mentality" going on. His father and brothers all want Samuel to volunteer since it is his last year before he is too old while his mother and sister don't want to see him die no matter how good of a chance he may have of winning.

Samuel is truly torn on which side to take. On one hand he doesn't want to worry his mother and sister with entering the games and every waking moment from then on is constant fear that they will watch him die but on the other hand he does feel like he has the necessary skills in order to win. This issue is eating away at his brain and he doesn't know what to do.

Samuel is terrified of the games even if he wont show it to anyone. He does have the mentality of doing whatever it takes in order to survive if he was to be reaped, but the very idea of using what skills he has horrifies him because he learned these skills to better help out his family and people in need, instead he probably will end up volunteering in order to bring the honor and pride to his district and more importantly his family.
