Age: 15
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Personality:
Kahawai is self conscious about how he looks. Most the boys his age have muscles and are very athletic, they're ready for the games. On the other hand Kawahai is scrawny and weak. His skin is pale and his teeth are crooked, he's so ordinary. Or at least that's how Kahawai views himself.
To other people Kahawai isn't that bad looking. His hair is raven black and usually very neat and tidy. Despite how scrawny he is he looks healthy, just not very fit. His eyes are a gorgeous blue-green mixture and they compliment his hair well. He is rarely seen without a smile even though his teeth are crooked and despite how shy he is.
Kahawai wears lots of blue and lots of sweaters. He loves warm, loose clothing. He's fairly tall, he stand at 5'8 but he thinks he's too short. Often his eyes are blood shot from staying up late and reading. A rosy blush spreads across his pale skin whenever he gets nervous.
History:
Kahawai tries really hard to fit in but he's often looked at strangely because he's so different. He's always been shy, quiet, and far more reserved than all the others in District 4. While they trained for the games he liked to make music or read a book. His most pried possession is his book. They're rare in the districts after all. He dreams to be like the boy in his book, Marcus. Kahawai's shy nature has made it hard for him to make friends but his mom urges him to be more outgoing and to enjoy life.
Kahawai doesn't mind spending time alone. He actually prefers it. Anyways, he has the company of his rat Scamp. His parents don't like Scamp and he knows it but Kahawai has never minded. They say he can keep Scamp as long as he doesn't eat the food or get in the way. He's a sweet boy and he couldn't just let the baby rat die.
Kahawai has never been bullied at school but people don't really like him either. He makes them uncomfortable, mainly because a rat sits on his table during lunch and he sits there with a book. Plus when they all go to train for the Games he always declines, saying he wants to finish the chapter.
Once you get to know Kahawai yu'd realize he's actually a very kind, outgoing boy. He's loyal to the friends he does have and he can be quite funny at time. The only proble is getting close to him, he's very self conscious about himself and always thinks people don't like him.
Kahawai was born December 2nd, a snowy winter night in District 4. His mother, Tetra, was thrilled to have a son and named him Kahawai after a type of fish. His father, Nilgiri, on the other hand wasn't ready for a child. Even though he was nervous about being a father he welcomed Kahawai with open arms and chose his middle name, Tarzan. And so Kahawai's life began, it seemed normal enough for someone living in District 4.Codeword: odair
At the age of 7 Kahawai found his first book. Granted it was only a couple pages. He was intrigued by it and he ran off to find his mother and ask what it was. She explained to him that his grandfather had liked to collect stuff, books were one of the things he liked to collect. Over the years Kahawai found more and more of his grandfather's books. Most were only a few pages but Kahawai loved to read them over and over and make up the ending in his head.
When he was 13 Kahawai found a rat and her babies living in his family's basement. They were dead as it was winter and cold but he noticed one was still alive. Kahawai picked up the tiny rat and cradled it in his arms, he had always been a caring boy. He talked his parents into letting him keep the rat and now the two are inseparable.
Kahawai is 15 now, his rat Scamp still rarely leaves his side. He owns a full book now, he actually wrote it himself. Its about freedom and a boy named Marcus. Kahawai wishes he could be like Marcus, be free to adventure and explore. He spends most of his time reading and writing so he doesn't have many friends. He's often looked at strangely because the other kids his age train for the games but he would rather escape to his book with Scamp in his lap.
