The summer air was heavy and sweet
You and I on a crowded street
there was music everywhere
I can see us there
You and I on a crowded street
there was music everywhere
I can see us there
Finally spring is here I thought as the sweet scents of fresh flowers filled my nose. The air was finally warm and the streets of the district were full, everyone wanting to enjoy the warmth while it lasted. More than likely, it would rain soon so this break in the weather was quite nice. I looked up and closed my eyes, loving the feel of the sun on my face which had become pale during the winter but hopefully would become tanned soon, I hated looking in the mirror and seeing such a pale face. I wonder what Reagans up to I thought. Reagan Fair was my boyfriend. We'd been dating since the winter and at the moment, he was staying with us. My family, so far, liked him a lot. Although, my dad, whom was highly protective of me, told him we couldn't do anything too serious cuz I'm his little girl. So far, we'd been good, but I kind of wanted my dad to back off a little. I'm sixteen almost seventeen years old, one would think that he'd be a bit more lenient when it came to Reagan and I I thought. I wandered around before the sound of music drew me towards a corner of the district square. A fiddler was set up and was playing some tunes. I smiled, I loved listening to musicians, not that I could play any instruments myself, but it was still nice just to listen. A few other people had paired off and started dancing, something we did here in district five every so often when the weather was nice. I need to find Reagan I thought, looking around for him.
I finally found him on the edge of the group. I took his hand and pulled him forward, "Come on, lets dance" I said, smiling up at him. He had changed a bit since we'd met, he was clean shaven and was usually dressed in good taste. I knew my brother and him were getting along well and my mother adored him. So far, life was perfect. I tugged at his sleeve.
