Beads of sweat formed on Junipers brow as she walked along the baked pavement. She was tired, oh so very tired of trying to make ends meet for herself and her twin sister Cyprus. Is life even worth living anymore, I mean our parents are gone and there's no one else really left for us in this world she thought, looking to the clear blue sky that matched her blue eyes perfectly and closed her eyes, pushing back against the sorrow she felt in her soul at that moment. She missed her parents dearly and would give anything to see them again but she couldn't leave her twin, she couldn't leave her with no one else in the world. Her feet made No sound as she walked along the pavement wondering where to go. She'd had some idea's earlier but they'd slipped from her mind like Leaves in the wind and now she wandered aimlessly through the streets.
She was thirsty, oh so very thirsty. Her last drink had been hours ago and now, her tongue felt like sandpaper inside her mouth. She needed something to drink soon. She picked her way through the district until she came to the river that ran along the edge of the district and decided, she needed more than a drink, she needed a dunk in the water to cool off. Stripping down to her underclothes, she waded into the cool water and sighed happily, allowing the cool water to wash over her. Suddenly, her foot slid out from under her and her head went below the surface. She panicked, trying to get a foothold again but couldn't find purchase on the slippery rocks. Her head broke the surface and she gasped a quick breath of air before she was dragged under again. She tried to swim against the current but it was too strong. Her lungs screamed for air as she was tossed around under the water like a ragdoll and she felt the edges of her mind beginning to fade. This is how I die she thought, feeling the reality becoming fainter and fainter until it faded altogether. She gave in to death easily, praying that her sister would be alright.
When she opened her eyes the next time, she was not in the river or even in the district. In fact, she was no where she'd ever seen before. She looked around before she heard a familiar voice and she turned, feeling joy swell in her chest. "Nipper, is that you honey?" her mothers voice asked. Juniper nodded, feeling tears of joy well in her frosty blue eyes. "Welcome home"
ooc: Good bye Nipper, may you rest in peace.
