Age: 14

District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Kodai looks very insane and deranged just by looking at him. He has sharp and slightly long canine teeth that are always visible even when his mouth is closed in the confident smirk it's always in. He has messy light blue hair (dyed by his parents to fit with the District 4 theme) with black highlights at the tips, and a light tan to accompany this beach themed hairstyle. Light blue with a sandy tan for skin, makes you just want to be there already doesn't it?Personality:
His eyes are corrupted from a childhood trauma, the pupil of one eye completely eliminating the iris making his right eye blue with a small dot in the middle and his left eye the pure darkness of his pupil surrounded the the whites of his eyes. Despite this insane look in his eyes, Kodai always has his eyes in a calm state, looking as if could care less if you stole something in front of his eyes. He is 5'7 with strong looking arms, but no real sings of biceps or anything. If he ever notices you, he'll either glare at you with precaution, or he'll switch to a childish smile and come right to you.
When walking, Kodai is very lazy. But, he's always alert. If you took the time, you would notice his eyes constantly shifting to each side of his line of sight. Throw something at him, he'll catch it and toss it back with such accuracy and anger in his eyes, it's almost scary. He always looks as alert as he should be.
Very immature, funny, loud and downright insane, Kodai is the one you would want to either hang out with when you're sad, or avoid when you're upset. He picks up vibes and switches them around for his own. You could say he's capricious, often making fun of things to try and lighten the situation. However, this is not a mental disability that influences him. It's the insanity of a killer.History:
A murder that he witnessed in which his cruel father was mutilated by his uncle and then thrown into the pool to be eaten by nature's marine life left him feeling a mixture of happiness, bloodlust, and confusion. He is never sure if he's glad that his dad is dead, or if he actually misses the moments where he was a good man. He covers this all up with the jokes he makes about deaths and jokes at the reapings where he teases a volunteer about losing. He just wants nothing else but to feel normal to himself.
Kodai is very rebellious towards the Capitol, often writing his own songs about rebellion or the Capitol's idiotic customs and burning the papers once he's done to "let the smoke of my burning truths spread through Panem" as he calls it. He keeps it all in his head however, all the things he's said. All the violent rhythms of the truths in his minds make his sanity even worse.
He can be honestly funny however, turning a funeral into a comedy show with a beloved memory taken into thought and then revisiting that. He can be lovable if he doesn't hate you first, which means that if you want to be a friend of his you need to watch him more than he might have already watched you. He displays his own type of intelligence too, good at planning things to an interesting extent. His good memory can only let him create the most difficult of flaws, making a lot of his plans a success it being one of peace or one of war.
When Kodai does sing, it is the voice of a crying angel. His voice quivers with pain and anger as if crying out to someone to save him from this, someone who lives in a better world than his. Never has he sung in public, but when he gets the chance he will sing to himself, his overall pride and melancholy heroism expanding even more. Kodai is a boy that suffers from his own mind and from the world around him. But he is also as good as a person anybody else should be.
Kodai was the spoiled brat of the family. The theme of District 4 being the coast, they did not hesitate to have annual hair dyes to keep it blue like the ocean, accompanying his pale sand colored skin. His mother was always trying to remove her insecurity by calling Kodai her "little monster" due to his naturally sharp canine teeth. Kodai was well liked by the other kids, their minds already loaded with enough violence. He was an icon of sorts.Codeword: oDair
When Kodai was young, very young, he began to sneak onto the fishing ship that his father was the captain of. He was never noticed and always enjoyed watching the tall, strong sailor who actually tormented and abused his mother and him to no end. The anger and abuse of his father showed with the other sailors, Kodai's uncle being the next in line for abuse. But one day, he fought back. They were all sick of it.
His uncle took a harpoon and called his father over, claiming it was stuck and wouldn't fire. The yelling began and his father grabbed the harpoon, in which he was stuck to due to superglue being coated in it. His uncle fired it against his father's protests and threats, and his father's arm was torn out of place from the force of the harpoon being shot out. He bled incredible amounts of blood as he wobbled all over the ship, in which the sailors began to kick him repeatedly as he fell. The sounds of snapping bones and crushed ribs was everywhere, and Kodai laughed and stared at the creeping pool of blood in awe. He fell onto his hands and knees and with tears in his eyes, he kept laughing and shaking as the sweeter memories of his father passed through his mind.
The sailors found him, his eye corrupted. When Kodai got on his hands and knees, he had not cared for the hard metal desk in front of him that he had violently bumped his head into. His eyes looked like they belonged to a rejected horror movie character. He was rocking back and forth, still crying and laughing. His uncle took Kodai in for the rest of the week until he returned with a curious look at everything. He seemed to be more connected to the things he saw at home, especially the key hanger his father crafted with him. If he could, he would have bought it as a token.
As he grew up with just his mother, Kodai began to take the time to craft a finer personality he could live with. He began to dedicate parts of his life to observing the world around him, noticing every detail of every person until his head practically exploded from so much information. He grew violent, all the things he knows about someone in it's own circle but bouncing around uncontrollably in his thoughts when trying to remember someone. From a 3rd person point of view, he'd be stuttering like crazy until he remembered everything about you. You would laugh, but he'd lose trust for just that, he wasn't tolerating anyone who didn't understand his mixed words.
By the time he was much older, Kodai began to socialize once more. Visiting the homes of his childhood friends, he began to see that he was not the only one suffering childhood horrors. In fact, he had it better off than anybody else compared to their stories. He saw that he still had a chance, and when Kodai grasped onto this perspective, he celebrated with his favorite snack, pineapples.
A curious addiction, pineapples acts as some sort of tranquilizer for him. When he's gone mad, he'd just munch on pineapples and he'd get back to normal. Why? It is not known, but he does imagine a pineapple companion named Phil. Almost sounding like a cartoon character, he would talk to the floating entity he saw. It served as the father he lost when he was young, but kinder, sweeter, more humble.
Kodai is a freak, he's immature, he's funny, he's poetic. But above all this, he's the insane hero we all might not ever expect to have as a friend, enemy, or neighbor. Truth is, he's just like you and me on the inside, confused on what they want to be and when they'll do it. He's only human, and that's the one true flaw.
Comments/Other:
Kodai's token is a shell necklace he made one time when he was alone at home, remembering about his father's death. It also happened to be the same day as his birthday, a present to himself. He can have very rebellious moments, most resulting in a powerful conclusion.
The pineapple thing is for pure humor, it's not to be taken so seriously but it should not be ignored either when he gets his chance to speak.
