Jaime Alexander Smith,
ALL AROUND ME ARE FAMILIAR FACE, WORN OUT PLACES, WORN OUT FACES
------------------------------------------------------------------
I really love getting shoved into the lockers everyday and threatened with a fist in my face. I mean, it's not that I have been getting beat up every day since I walked into this school. I wasn't sure why though. I did everything my brothers and sisters told me to do. Be nice, don't talk back to the teachers, and all that regular jazz people tell you on the first day of school. The first day I walked through the big doors with my new backpack and combed over hair. I thought it was going to be a great new experiance but it really wasn't. That next week was the first time I got a punch in the stomach. I was a target and I couldn't help myself. I knew why I was like a practice dummy to the big guys in my grade with smirks and muscles. It was because I wasn't a fighter. As much as they teased and hit, I wouldn't do anything about it. I would sit there and take it. And whats a better target then a kid who doesn't fight back?
"Where is it kid?" I felt a fist go into my stomach and I felt myself get dizzy. Gasping for breath I asked then to stop but that just made it worse. "I don't know what you are talking about..." I ask clutching my stomach because the pain was overwhelming on my full stomach. I hadn't even walked into the bloody school before I felt the neck of my shirt being grabbed and being shoved against a brick wall. I didn't even fight it. I just let it happen. So no one felt sorry for me. Maybe except my sister, who was no where to be found. "Don't lie to me kid. Just tell me where you hid it." The biggest one said, spitting in my face. I squished my face up as it hit my face. Gross. "I have to get to class..." I say as a dramatic excuse to get out of this daily beating. But that just a snicker to fall across the two boys. "Oh no. Jaime is going to be late. It could ruin your perfect attendence record." A smirk glided onto his face. A unison chuckle came from both. I felt my cheeks burning up in embaressment. "We couldn't have that could we?" I shake my head, which I really shoudn't have. It just got me a slugger to the face.
The second boy took my hands behind my back so I could do anything but take it. I struggled a little before I gave in. "Aww, your big scary sister isn't here to save you. Where is she? Probably getting drunk." I felt my stomach drop. "That's not funny." I say trying to struggle out but the boys hand slid over my mouth. The big one cracked his knuckles. "Should have told me, Jaime. Who is gonna save you now?" I felt a wave of panic hit me as I knew I wasn't getting out of this one.
