Sitting in the Justice Building and waiting for those who wish to say goodbye to Akasha tore her up. The thought alone of saying goodbyes, and talking to those who she might never see again tore her apart. The mindset that everyone would be leaving her eventually. The thought that in the Games she would be alone. She would need to hunt for prey and also be hunted. She would be hunted by muttations and also other tributes. Those tributes that would want her dead. She had seen what would happen if you didn’t befriend at least a handful of tributes, and it was horrific to say the least.
She could always go in alone, but it was best to start out with something. Something that would eventually fall apart, and then she would have to face them. Those faces that would surely haunt her at night. The faces that would stain her memories and mark her life forever. She was sure that those memories wouldn’t leave her at all. She would have to remove herself in order to remove them.
Quietly she shook that thought out of her head. There was no way that she would remove herself. She would go down fighting and she would go far. She would go far for her brothers, her parents, and her entire family. She would honor them and succeed. Going above and beyond the expectations of everyone. Her life would not be wasted, and no secrets would be kept. The truth would need to eventually come out and she would need to tell someone eventually.
Temporarily, her thoughts were paused as she heard a Peacekeeper talking to somebody outside of her very doors. The heart inside of her chest beat harder and harder. Knowing who it was without even seeing their face. Her brothers would come into this room and she had to let go. She needed to let go of both of them. They weren’t safe; they were going to break her. The process that she had already started by having a baby would progress into something more. They would hurt her, harm her. She didn’t want that anymore.
However, when she first saw them enter her room; her exterior broke down. Something that she would need to build back up before any of the other tributes saw her like that. They looked so much younger and yet so much older at the same time. She felt their emotions and it simply doubled on top of her own. There wasn’t much more time left before she sealed herself up. That meant she needed to get it all out before she died.
With that she spoke while her words were encased in her breath, “Dhaval. Muskox.....You came.”
