I don't know how people do it. I could never imagine what they were doing. Last games I was on the opposite side of it. Jabber was being sent to the games. I ran through the doors to say goodbye. I wanted him to return home, but it didn't happen. I remember listening to his loud sobs as I walked through the door. I can here his sobs filling my ears as I walk through the halls. I feel the pain in my chest again. The same pain that was there when Jabber was here. I keep my eyes gazed at the floor. I don't want to see the peacekeepers. I don't want to here them talking. I don't want to be around them, but I'm trapped. I can't run now. A door is opened in front of me, and I'm shoved inside. I don't look back as the door closes behind me. The room is just like it was when Jabber was reaped. It's all the same. The only difference is I'm on the other side. I'm the one that's saying goodbye. I'm the one that has to live what Jabber went through. I walk over to a corner away from the door. I keep my back turned away from it. I don't want anyone to see me when they walk in. The pain that's written on my face as a river silently flows from my eyes. I can't sob loudly right now. I don't want anyone to hear me. I can't allow the other tribute to hear me. She may consider me weak. I'm not weak. I'm strong, and I have to show it. I have to show I'm brave. I have to be able to look Mist in the eye and tell her I'll try my best to win so I can return home. I can't be crying as I tell my family I love them. They need me to be strong. I don't want to be seen as a weak bot already. I sigh as I allow myself to sit down in a chair. I place my forehead in my hands and start preparing myself for what's about to happen. This will be the hardest thing I've ever done with my life knowing I may never see them alive again. It wasn't possible, No, no, I refused to believe that my brother Storm had been reaped. He was my rock, he was my baby brother, I loved him even more than Jabber. It wasn't fair, it wasn't fair to have to lose him only a year after losing Jabber. I watch in horror as that damned escort calls his name, I can see the fear on his face. It's clearer than anything I've ever seen on anyone else. "Storm" I choke out, no one else able to hear me. I turn away from the stage as the two of them are escorted into the justice building and I hurry to be one of the first ones to say good bye.

"Storm" I cry, bursting into the room. I have tears running down my face. "Why? Why did it have to be you?" I know he can't answer me. I don't expect an answer. "I love you brother, please, come home for Jabber. Fight and avenge his death" I knew Storm wasn't much of a fighter but I refused to believe that he wouldn't go down without a fight. I sniffled and looked at my younger brother. I wished I could protect him, he was my brother for Ripred's sake.

As soon as the time was up, I felt as if someone was stabbing me with a knife in my heart as I turned away from him and left. Please, come home to us Storm, not just for me but for everyone in the family I thought before the door closed, leaving me feeling broken and alone.

Last time we had meet Jabber in the room. Sobs of my family had filled the room, me myself had shed a few tears. But it wasn’t the same as walking into the room that held Strom captive. Storm out of all my family, I was the closest too. Even after our agreement, he was the one who had tried to understand what I had wanted, he was the one who had wanted to read me a story, get to know me. I eneter the room which by now was filled with the rest of my family. I didn’t know where he was, all I could see was darkness. I wanted to call out to him, but I knew he would be engulfed by the family. I wanted to tell him that I was sorry, sorry for yelling at him, sorry for all the hurtful words that had fallen from my lips in that intense moment. But I said nothing. I just hovered around the edge of the room, like I had when Jabber was held prisoner, hoping that he would somehow understand the guilt that I felt now.

I look at the floor because I would start sobbing if I looked her in the eyes. My heart races under my chest as my breathing increases. My hands shake at my side as I prepare myself to say goodbye. "Storm, Why? Why did it have to be you?" I wish I was able to give you an answer to that. I wish I could tell you, but I can't tell you. I don't know the answer. I shrug my shoulders as I look up at her. "I love you brother, please, come home for Jabber. Fight and avenge his death" I take a deep breath. It seems so long ago since Jabber died. I'm in his spot now. "I can't make any promises of returning home. I don't want to get the false hope up because anything is possible. I will promise to do my best though. I love you Fawn." My voice is no more a whisper as the last words escape from my lips. A river starts flowing from my eyes. I fight to keep the loud sobbing down as Fawn turns to leave. She walks out of the room shattering my heart. Red bursts through the door next, and my heart drops to the floor. It's been a while since I've talked to him. Last time I talked to him was before Jabber died. We had a terrible fight, and nothing has been the same since. The river flowing from my eyes falls freely down my face silently dripping on the ground. I need to apologize to him. I need to tell him I'm sorry. I need to get all this guilt I've been living with out before it's too late. I have to make things right before I die. I have to make this right. I slowly force myself out of the chair. I walk over in front of him and kneel down. I stare into his sightless eyes. "Red, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for slamming the door in your face. I'm sorry for swearing at you. I'm sorry Red. I'm so sorry. I'm extremely sorry." I look away from his sightless eyes as I start sobbing loudly. The sounds I'm making echoing through the room. "I-I-I-I" I sigh as I completely sit down on the floor as the door opens again. "love you." I look up as Mist is walking in. I run back over to him and stand beside me as the tears continue to flow down my face. Thinking Writing Says Hears Lyrics

What's with this bullshit! Mocking was currently on his way to the Justice Building in District 9. The place he was at just last reaping to watch his cousin go die in the games. A Jay flies, soars, and stays in flight with its flock. When one goes down, the rest of the flock struggles to move on as the momentum has been ruined and that bird has to be replaced and the birds have to strain again to keep moving.

Mocking had already broke his hand from the reaping, hitting it against the stage and peacekeepers was probably not the best idea he had. Mocking opened the door to the Justice Building open. The long hall way leading up to Storms room. Mocking walked such a long way at a medium pace, until he was outside the door that he has been to twice now. The peacekeepers glaring at him. He waited outside the door listening to the younger siblings in the family.

Once Mocking heard silence, he walked in. His bandaged fist balled at his side. The instant he got in the room, his eyes were betraying him. He rubbed his eyes with his arms. The water trickled down his arm and to his good hand. The water being the only cold thing in the room full of tension. Mocking spoke first. "Storm, Why the hell did it have to be you? I am so pissed. I can't believe I couldn't even volunteer for you! YOU CAN'T DIE STORM. Got it! I need you to come back, I don't think I can handle all these girls forever! Why? Whose next out of the Jay's, apparently it's going in a pattern I swear, if it is, then Red is next! Storm you have to come back! And if you don't I will kick your ass in the afterlife whenever I get there." Mick had grabbed Storm by his collar as he spoke. Mocking let go of him and smiled at the boy. He pulled in storm for a big hug. He broke away and slammed his hand down angrily, still a bit upset from the fact he can't volunteer.

Storm was being sent of to his doom and all Mick could do was stand by and watch. Storm had to come back, who else would laugh at his shenanigans. Why was it Storm and especially without Mist, Mocking was going to go crazy with her. Storm was growing up a bit in front of him, with his life on his line, maturity is what has to happen to him. Mocking hopes that one day, storm will come back, safe and sound, but really, inside, he knew Storm would never be coming back, like Jabber. The silence would come again to the house and shroud another soul of the house. The Jay's would never be the same. Ripped apart again from another loved one and all Mocking could do was watch, watch him die.

People were yelling, and there I stood, on my own, waiting for storm to come over o, to say goodbye. I knew he wasn’t coming back- how could he? He was no fighter. He was a boy; a boy who hid in fairy tales, a boy didn’t even know how to throw a punch. How could he win this battle? This battle against 23 other children who wanted him dead. And what could I do to help him? What could I do to help him get back home? Nothing. I was useless, just like usual. I could do nothing to help him. He was lost to me, gone. All I had left was these little moment, and what could I say? What could I say to prove to him that I was sorry? That I wish we had never argued. It was too late. Far too late. Far too late to say anything. Too far gone. "Red, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for slamming the door in your face. I'm sorry for swearing at you. I'm sorry Red. I'm so sorry. I'm extremely sorry." His voice is soft, full of tears. I can feel him in front of me, and it takes all I have not to reach out to him. He needed to be strong, and if I tried to touch him, if I let him see my pain, then wont I being making him weak? Wouldn’t I just send him further away? "I-I-I-I love you." That’s when I can’t hold back, I fall into his arms for a moment. A warm embrace. “Strom… Storm I am so sorry. The things I said- all the hush, mean things I said… You didn’t deserve any of it. I know it is too late, but Storm I really am sorry. Please try and come home. I know I am asking a lot of you, I know, but please try. I want- I want you to read to me. The door opens again and Mocking enters the room, and to my surprise, he's cry as well. I look down at his bandaged hand. What did he do this time? The next thing I know he's grabbing my shirt pulling me closer to him. "Storm, Why the hell did it have to be you? I am so pissed. I can't believe I couldn't even volunteer for you! It wasn’t my cousin anymore; it was my little brother sitting in that spot, the spot I had managed to avoid for 6 years already. I could feel the sweat coating my palms as I watched my other family members cry or hold back their emotions. I was never one for emotions and I refused to cry—but this was my goddamn brother who I wasn’t even sure could hurt a fly. I didn’t like Storm’s numbers. But I forced myself to look at him, baby Storm who came into the world with Mist, and I made myself look strong. I didn’t know what to say, how to say it, or even what to do, so I let the others speak to him first. Eventually, though, it would be my turn and I would have to speak to him—I just didn’t know what to say. It was so much easier with Jabber because I had always felt like there was a distance between the two of us, but I had watched Storm grow up since he joined the family as a baby. What did I say to the kid who I had once held in my arms? What did I say to the kid who slowly became more than numbers to me? He was always reading—books were his thing. Sometimes, I felt like he was more into stories than reality as I watched him walk around the house. I never really knew what was inside his head—my attempts to hide from Ma led to some distance between me and my younger siblings—but I always just had this feeling that the world he saw was so different from mine. Would that help him in the Games? Was he going to be able to survive based on the stories that he had read? The reaping was horrible as I watched the numbers fall into place as he stood on the platform. I didn’t want to know what they would tell me when I saw him in the arena. I walked up to him slowly, not saying a word. I just stared into his eyes, the blue eyes that were so much brighter than mine. I didn’t want to believe that he could be leaving us, that there was a chance that he wouldn’t make it back to our small house. Instead, I just grabbed him and held him to me as I bit my lip and held back the tears. I didn’t want to let my baby brother go.
