My body starts feeling more and more weak the longer that I lay here. The pain is starting to be numbed throughout my body and the tears have finally passed. I resolve that the tears will do nothing for me because there is no way I'm going to die this young. I need to move. I need to find help, but the image of what I saw burns deep within my mind. My leg is not whole. My leg will never be whole again and it's all thanks to that ass that just walked away from me. I've lost track of where he went. I know that he was leaving me. That was the part that really freaked me out. I can't beleive your leaving me... Marcus, do you not have a conscious. Do you not fear to have someone's blood on your hands... HELP ME.... I scream. The seconds tick by and I feel it turn to minutes now. No sound. No voice. Just silence and that really scares me. I use my free hand to turn myself onto my side and allow myself a moment to breath in the debris of old, broken leaves. I cough. I groan. Then I slowly and weakly turn over to my stomach. "Someone.... anyone?" I whisper out, and reach out fully with my hands, digging my hand into the ground and with what strength that I can muster, I pull my weight a few inches. Again and again, I pull my body in hopes that someone might come, but the longer that I do, I see the dots infront of my eyes. I resolve to stop and lay my face on my outstretched arm. My head propped up on the soft pillow of my arm. I swear dad... you'd better come find me. I mutter under my breath. I close my eyes from the exhaustion for a moment and drift off into a unwilling, unconscious state. Will I wake up?

I've been working so hard the last few weeks, people getting hurt a lot lately, it's odd, this time last year it wasn't so busy. My baby (Well technically not my baby because I didn't give birth to him but I've technically adopted him) has kept me awake most nights, the joys of being a new parent I suppose. I whistle a tune and the mockingjays sing back to me, making me smile. It's been a while since my older brother Brayden, gave any sign that he was still alive, I worry about him all the time. As I walk, I begin to notice signs of a fight that's taken place. Where there are fights, there are usually injuries, great. My work is never done. That's when I hear it, the soft cries of an injured person. "Someone...Anyone" The voice is weak and I can easily tell that they're hurt. I pick up my pace until I'm almost racing through the forest. My feet crunch along the forest floor until I come upon an injured boy, He's missing his leg and there is blood all around him. He's weak, very weak. I need to get him back to my shop, thank Ripred I always carry a first aid kit with me. I pull it out of my bag and open it, pulling out a large wad of gauze. I press it to the wound, blood covering it quickly. "Can you hear me? What happened?" I ask. She said some days I feel like shit some days I wanna quit and just be normal for a bit I don't understand why you have to always be gone I get along but the trips always feel so long

The feeling of sleep wanting to take over me is prevalent that I can't just deny myself the one thing that will take away all the fears and anxiety I'm feeling right now. There seems to be something peaceful as I finally let my body relax. The tense muscles that were pulling my body across the ground, relaxed. My leg no longer seems to hurt for the moment. Even my head feels less heavy. I revel in the feeling, but I do not smile. "Boy? Where you at? BOY! I said get your hind up and get out of that bed... I ain't play no games today." I hear my dad's voice calling out to me in a normal way. It's time to get to work already, but I just closed my eyes. I just went to sleep. "Damn sleep... it never lasts long enough." I say outloud and get a gruff voice in return in the form of my father saying something, but I take no time to really listen. I move my legs out of the bed, sitting up and swing my legs over the side of the bed. "...what kind of life is it to be a woodsman's son? Up at he crack of dawn... just to cut trees... honestly." I shove off from the bed, and let my feet meet the floor only to fall. The floor disappearing below my feet the moment my toes touch it. The sensation of falling takes over. I scream. I grasp for something or anything but right before I hit the ground, there's this shooting pain. I flinch and close my eyes. My eyes jerk open to this pain. Fear ever present on my face. Don't kill me again, Marcus... Havn't you done enough to me already? I think to myself. It hurts, whatever this person is doing to me. I see the outline of someone so near to me. The fuzzy picture of this body. I hear the echoed voice within my ears. I try to focus my eyes, but I just keep blinking them, caught up in a daze. I can't help but think that this is Marcus, back to finish me off and his first plans are to keep putting pain on me. Can you hear me? What happened? The words echo in my head, like I'm still in this dream like state. The voice doesn't sound like a guy. It sounds more like a girl. Her gentle voice. It begins to make me wonder what she asked. What did happen? Marcus tried to kill me, that's what happened! I groan as I feel her pressing something up against my opened wound. The spot where the rest of my leg would be. It takes me a moment to collect my voice. "Fight... he, my leg." I muster and grimace so harshly, but I've no strength to cry. I resolve to just lay there, feeling the extreme pain in my leg. My body. My ears feel like their burning yet my face feels cold. My whole body feels cold. I move my hand slowly, trying to turn over off my stomache, but my arm goes limp with the effort. "Who are you?" I whisper out.

He groans as I press the bandages into his leg and mutters a reply. He must be in severe pain. Obviously, whoever did this to him had the intentions of killing him. Who would want to do that to a person, unless they were in the games. "Fight... he, my leg." He forces out. I grimace at the amount of blood seeping through the bandages. I need to get him out of here and back to the clinic so that we can patch him up. "Who are you?" he whispers. I help him turn onto his back, my hands gentle. I know how to deal with this, I just really need some help to get him back. "My name is Autumn and I'm going to get you fixed up" I keep my voice calm even though on the inside I'm panicking. I can't physically carry this boy, even though he is quite a bit younger than I, I'm not physically capable of doing it. I'm just not strong enough. I search my first aid kit and find more bandages, using whatever I have to soak up the blood that is steadily flowing out of the wound. I've dealt with severed limbs before but I've never had to deal with them out in the field. What would my mother have done? What would my mentor have done? Oh Ripred I wish they were here now. It takes a few moments before I realize what I need to do. I need to make a stretcher of some kind that will allow me to carry him back. First though, I need to tourniquet his wound and get it to stop bleeding. Out here, it will attract animals and I don't have anything to defend us with if a wolf comes wandering by, curious by the scent of blood. There's not really any choice but to empty my canteen to clean the wound. The water runs pink as it falls to the ground. "I'm sorry but this is going to hurt a bit. I am going to have to get you back to the clinic" I say, looking at the boys pale face. I will not let him die. I will not let him die. I can't seem to muster the strength to do the task. My arm goes limp beside me as I feel the girl press something against my leg. The end of my leg burns so intensely that the only thing I can do is squint my eyes. Then, a moment later, I feel her help me move over onto my back as I had just tried to do myself moments ago and failed. She rolls me gently, her gentle hands pull on me until I feel like I'm on solid ground again. My vision, though, behind my closed eyes swirls violently. I take a good breath of air. I'm so glad to no longer have that weight pressing down on my chest and my breathing seems to be lessened; a little easier. No more force against the effort to suck in the air. No more little pieces of broken leaves to invade my nose. In turn, I'm able to get a glimpse of the girl helping me, now, but it's fuzzy. I try to figure her out more since she's helping me. Her voice... her tone so calm and I'm wondering how she's able to be that way when she probably just happened upon my sorry arse. And Her hands... they were so gentle in moving me over onto my back. I keep the grimace on my face when she tells me who she is. "Autumn..." The name is somehow burnt into my thoughts. Her voice lingering within my head as I try to focus on something other than the pain. Other than my chances of survival and my ears begin to close a bit making the rest of her voice seem like a muffled collection of jibberish. I slowly bring a hand up to my head, to cover my eyes. It's almost too much with the light outside that's being brought upon my features. My mouth is pursed tightly and I let my head lol to the side away from the girl. I don't want her to see me in his position. Not in front of a girl. It's embarrassing enough that I am in this position. Bad enough that I wasn't quick enough to evade the attack that did this to me. It isn't but another second before I suddenly feel this new sensation on my leg and I immediately groan out loudly, my body reacting harshly to the water being poured on my wound. I just want to crawl away, but I don't. I take my jacket into my mouth and bite down hard and I hear her tell me that she is sorry that it was going to hurt. I don't say anything, but moan a bit more like a silent cry. I feel absolutely pitiful. "I am going to have to get you back to the clinic." She says. It hits me that I don't think she'll be able to do much to get me back to the clinic. How can she? She's just one person. Not even I'm strong enough to carry an entire person and I throw around a hatchet daily. "My dad... " I offer and whisper out, letting my teeth release the jacket's hemming. I turn to face her, my eyes desperate for relief. "He's... not far.... with the woodsmen." My voice slurrs just slightly, and once again, I take to biting into the sleeve of my jacket. Won't this pain just go away?
