Living. That was the one room that circulated throughout his mind. How had he managed to live, breathe, grow, but others didn't. Death had denied him for yet another day, pushing him to the background as he took in the others. Only one other had died after the male from district 9. 'Jerome' from district 4. Even as the anthem played, recognition barely peaked. The only sighting of him was at the beginning of the feast, but the face had been cascaded from Crescent in the action, yet somehow, the female from 1 or 2 managed to live. The smog that grazed over the remaining tributes had introduced one to death, but never allowed the same charity for another.

Neither the guy he was attacking or the one he was aiding managed to falter under the feast's pressure; the two of them were nowhere around him, however. Crescent was the first to flee, so following him wasn't high on the priority list, compared to killing one more tribute. Even as he trekked the barren lands covered in heated grains of sand, his nerves continued to tinge over every inch of his body. The only sponsor gift he had received was lost 4 days ago after the first and only fight he was forced to participate in before the feast. Maybe he had been pushed to the bottom of the priority list, yet too special to have the glory of Death's touch.

The lands he crossed had became more and more unrecognizable as he pasted every inch of ground. Even hours after the sun fell below the horizon, the very specks of sand he walked across managed to burn through the soles of his thin shoes. Digging a pillow of dry, burning seeds of earth was uncomfortable, even with the useless gas mask laying away from his face. Night had no longer been welcoming for him, being a secret admirer to something that evolved into the terrorizing abyss of surprises had no being on his own personal list of priorities.

A near-silent movement of sands had rang throughout the air, vibrating off the sparse palm trees rooted around Crescent. Some figure had managed to appear near him, slowly and silently marching towards him, dagger in hand. The face wasn't very clear, appearing mangled and destroyed, yet it didn't look friendly. They were never friendly. The hilt of a familiar pink-red mace had met his loose grip, awaiting for a moment of assurance or attack.

The face was familiar of course. The dim light that had still managed to find itself into the midnight arena had ricochet off the face of the nearly forgotten. No, It couldn't be. Lucy was killed during the bloodbath, mangled and broken by the guy who died last night, 'Jerome'. This figure was only but a mirage, ready to embrace Crescent and hold him, unlike Death had not. Yet, this enigma deemed more determined, focused on some theme of priority. The dagger in its hand was already coated in some form of substance, but it insisted to be recoated, but so had the rather gay mace that laid more firm in Crescent's grasp. It was no longer a term of mirage, Lucy died for a fact, there was no hiding past the anthem, yet he wanted to help her. There was no hiding past the smog of smoke that coated all of the tributes yesterday, yet her wanted to hold her. Although, the better judgement in the back of his mind screamed to attack, injure.

The glide of the mace barely scrapped the imaginary beast, bruising her measly, but it was official: This shell was no longer Lucy. It was improbable, Lucy had trusted him and never would attack. The two of them were a small connection from District 6, coated in anonymous trust. Their alliance hadn't lasted long past the first day, as the male from four made quick work of her, and barely gave Crescent the time of day sizing the tribute up before nearly breaking his arm, but Lucy wouldn't blame him for the death of herself, it was largely beyond his control. All remorse for the shell of a lesser known soul was evaporated, so Crescent threw his Mace towards that, that.... thing, again.

This shell still attempted to play catfish with Crescent, living on the thoughts of him on its line. He held loathe for it. It knew no mercy or morals at all, as it was nothing but an artificial copy of something pure. Its knife slide across Crescent's skin once more, tearing it, but shallowly. Forcing a slow stream of warm liquid red to flow along his frame. After regrouping his thoughts into organized files, he willed the mace to rise again, driven by yolo angst.

The cracking of bones filed through the air, bouncing from tree to ground and finally landing into the ears of Crescent. Decay and ripped skin had shielded the sight of the breakage, yet didn't help much. The beast sliced across his forearm once again, adding a second etch to fix at a later date, but it wasn't the time to grieve, it was time to take actions for once. His mace had clashed again against Lucy's imposter, hopefully more pressure upon already weak mass.

Metal crossing across zombified flesh had been the only sound floating throughout the battle. Even as they exchanged pants and cringes from cuts and scrapes, the air had been still, until the strings of silence were sliced by the emitting noises from Lucyv2.0. The thought had phased Crescent, rendering him useless until the crimson coated knife flew through the air again. It narrowly missed the skin envelope the covered his body, but his hair was snipped by the edge. "Don't front." The dialogue barely escaped in between breathes. He wasn't all too sure why those words had been selected, but he let it flow delayed compared to the time of when Lucy's had been released. Odds are she wouldn't comprehend them or at least, spend time thinking of what Crescent stated, but there was still a chance. Lifting the barbie mace one more time, force drove it into the fake's bubble.
