It wasn't until afternoon that Charlie finally forced herself out of bed, exactly how it continuously is for every morning. Good thing the baby of the family had already started her first year in school because her big sister was in no shape to play mommy all day. Eighteen was the optional age of staying in school, or ditching out, most kids in District Six continued down the smart path. As for Charlie though, she would be the first and only member of her family to simply drop out, after all it was greatly frowned down upon in this area. Slugging herself out of bed with a moan, she knew she couldn't sleep all day and set a bad example for her younger siblings, she had been getting enough criticism already.
"Hello?" Charlie called out from her attic of a bedroom, after getting ready for the day of course. Only silence followed, a clear indication all the kids made it to school. Grabbing a drink of water for her breakfast, she checked the clock to see how long it would be until the house would fill up with eight younger siblings. Less then an hour, that was certainly a little disappointing. It was a bit easier to deal with everyone under a little influence of some substance, but Charlie needed time for it to wear off in order to cover her tracks.
Rolling a small purple pill between two figures, Charlie had to remind herself that there will be time for that later. It still toke a second before stuck into a zip-lock pocket on the inside of one of her boots, that was where she kept everything of value on her; well only drugs and money. Only recaps on the past Hunger Games aired on the one television in this house, the last thing Charlie wanted to watch and she quickly shut it off. Now she was almost desperate for her younger siblings to get home, check on them, maybe go hunting or to the pub afterward.
This left one last options on what Charlie could fill her time with, within a minute she found her pack of cigarettes and a lighter and was on the front porch smoking a cigarette. Now she could give a warm greeting to her siblings, a silly grin and chuckle escaping her with that thought. The house they lived in required a decent walk to get to the school, and a long specific path to get to the Smith's house. Quite a few yards away Charlie could spot her first sibling make his way home, squinting she could make out Jaime, and then a little closer his limp that indicated he wasn't right. Putting her cigarette out, Charlie hurried to her younger brother to figure out what was wrong.
((OOC: Sorry it's so short, the next one will be longer I'm sure!))
