Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.
Riordan Einfallen had been apart of Tempus for such a long time. He had been there since Navy and Theo were there, since it was ran by Merc and many other members who are either dead or living off somewhere else. Rio had faced hard loses through out the whole time he worked at Tempus, Navy and Theo died, the members left, and then the drugs. Rio had faced depression and his illness through out the aftermath of Navy and Theo. Tempus was what he did best. Acting and singing was where he excelled in. Tempus was his home, one of the only places that held a piece of his heart.
Rio had been preparing Tempus all week for the new kids and staff that would be running it. Riordan was just glad that he wouldn't be as lonely as he had been for a long while. He would have new friends and family to call his own. Unlike the last one, who left him stranded and heartbroken in the building. He had made a mess of the building after everyone left, tearing and braking things. Then Rio had to fix the entire building to peak performance. It took forever but Rio did it.
Navy's wing ring, as Rio called it, was jumbling in his pocket as he looked over his final cast list even though it was kind of small, but he was determined to make it bigger. Rio needed a big cast for all of his projects and plays that he is working on setting up. Tempus needed money and all of the rich elders loved going to this sort of thing. Rio liked being in them. Singing, dancing and acting was his thing. Rio had been through almost every play and opera he could think of. He had read almost a hundred Operas.
It was about time Rio made an appearance at the front of the building to congratulate his new cast and staff. Rio slowly got up as he looked around his changing room, well bedroom now. Rio grabbed the only thing that he had gotten from Theo, besides the torch, the velvet cloth from the curtains, which Rio had left cut out. The cloth feelings smooth against his hands. The cloth had been there when Theo died, it probably still had his blood on it, but Rio didn't care either way. It was one of the only things left he had of his old friend. Rio felt tears come to his eyes. HE had to be strong. He had to move on for Theo and Navy. He just can't live in sorrow and his depression forever. Theo and Navy were both gone.
Riordan remembers the smell of the mint tea Theo used to make that made Rio's days brighten. The times that Navy would twirl around in her dresses and outfits. The acting with her. He remembered the days it was quiet and sad, but everyone was happy. The days that he was happy, now Rio was a sad boy that hasn't moved on. Rio had to move on. He was all alone. He left his family. He had been alone. He meet many good people and bad people. The drugs that made the depression worse. The prostitution of his body that made him feel unloved. The feeling of guilt of knowing everyone moved on.
The stage was always the place he felt normal. The only place he felt safe and secure on. Rio's eyes scan the seats that would be where the audience would go. His eyes landed on the seat that had the most memories of the cast. Seat number 23. The seat now was wrapped in white fabric with roses drawn on the fabric. The small roses had a few names, Codrus, Gwynn, Hestia, Keagan, Mercury, and his very own, Riordan. Then in the middle were two bigger roses with the names Theseus Rhodium and Naveen Casovnik. Naveen and Theseus' roses had the words of a song on it, the song was one Rio had heard a long time ago, that he never remembered it until Navy died. Rio felt the tears springing from his eyes. He slowly rubbed them away. The seat had velvet ropes around it and flowers were placed all over it without blocking the roses covering the fabric. Rio had placed two letters that he had written to both Navy and Theo, after they died, onto the seat. Rio hasn't touched the seat since he placed the letters. It was now a dedication to the original actors and actresses.
Riordan wiped the tears from his eyes. He had to be tough now for the opening of Tempus. He had to be strong for the actors and actresses and staff. Rio stood quietly on the stage. The boy made his way out to the front of Tempus. He stared at the crowd of old people in the back and some of the chosen few that Rio will be letting be apart of Tempus. Rio stood in front of everyone that was there. Rio's voice rang out loudly. "Hello ladies and gentlemen! I am Riordan Einfallen, the big boss of this establishment now. Welcome to Tempus. Before we head inside for a special treat from me, I would like to congratulate the new staff of this fine establishment. When I call your name, please come forward and take a bow for this lovely audience, it will be the first of many. Meriweather Wynns. Romero Alexander. Jequirity Eckhart. Ashes Davis. And Bull. Thank you for having interest in this establishment or having me somehow get you here. One. Two. Three. Bow. Now if the staff and the audience would follow me inside for a special surprise from myself."
The people follow behind Rio into the building. Rio directs people to seats as quick as possible and letting people know that no one can touch Seat 23 or sit in it. Once everyone was seated Riordan smiled at the full house of people. The idea he had in his head from a long time ago was still fresh and ripe. He knew it was time to prove that Riordan Einfallen has been helpful to Tempus ever since it was there. Tempus was his home, his sanctuary. It was his memories and his life. He wasn't going to lose it. He was going to make sure that his love for Tempus is and will forever be known by the people of District 6.
Riordan climbed up onto the stage in front of all the eyes that were staring at him. Riordan was comfortable on the stage like he always was and will be. His eyes gaze to Seat 23 the flowers giving him the sense of Naveen and Theseus watching him from above, in the sky and a better place. Riordan closed his eyes and opened them. He spoke loudly to the audience. "This is a very personal song to me. It describes my feelings towards Tempus and the people who have died and the friends and family who have left. This song is dedicated to Naveen Casovnik and Theseus Rhodium and for anyone else who we all have lost. Please keep the applause until the end."
Riordan pulled the curtain away to reveal the shiny black piano sitting in the middle of the stage. Riordan sat down on the bench in front of the piano. Stretching his fingers out, he began to play notes to a song softly. His fingers knowing the pattern well. The only instrument Rio had learned to play as a boy when he was locked up. This was going to be Rio's first performance using his singing voice. Rio sang out with passion in his voice, the song was personal and important to him. "Heart beats fast. Colors and promises. How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall? But watching you stand alone, all of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow. One step closer.
Rio felt the stage vibrating around him as he continued to sing the song that he remembers that Theo had hidden somewhere. The song described his feelings toward his friends and the Opera house. He loved them all so much. He will always love them and try to be apart of the house. Rio continued to the chorus of the song. "I have died everyday waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more. Time stands still. Beauty in all she is. I will be brave. I will not let anything take away. What's standing in front of me. Every breath, Every hour has come to this. One step closer."
Rio looked out to the audience and continued playing the piano and feeling the adrenaline and passion of the song flowing through his body. The song that he loved so much already. His voice ringing as he holds a few notes here and there. Rio continues singing. "I have died everyday waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more. And all along I believed I would find you. Time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more. One step closer. One step closer."
Rio remembers the crushes and stories that were passed around Tempus. The memories that live on this stage that is now Riordan's stage. The Seat that they all loved and became their favorite seat. The smell of Mint tea. The long nights of preparing for a show or learning lines and parts. The feeling of friendship and love. Rio missed it all. Rio missed everything about Tempus and now Rio was rebuilding it, bringing back that joy that he had missed so much. Riordan finished the song strong holding the last note out. "I have died everyday waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more. And all along I believed I would find you. Time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more."
Riordan listens as the audience roars in applause and clapping and whistling is sounding. Riordan feels tears slowly appearing in his eyes, but he wipes them away and stands up and bows to the crowd of people in front of him. Riordan was bringing back a joy that had been at Tempus in a long time. That joy would be something that keeps the building running. His love for Tempus and the people he has lost is extremely high. Riordan Einfallen remembers. He remembers Tempus. He remembers his friends and family. One day, he will do something great. Something that will bring this joy to everyone. Joy was the gift to the world. This was only just the start of something new and the end of something old.
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
(Ok, Tempus members and well other people who want to do this may post their reactions to this thread. I hope you enjoyed it. I had a lot of muse. Tempus is officially open!)
