The voices that told me the day before the reaping that we will never be apart. I wasn't at home, I was in the district square curled up on the floor, not paying attention to the staring people. I was crying and crying. Holding one of his books close to my chest so that it could hear my heartbeat and so that we could share our love for Storm together. The books that I held in my hands are all his freinds, the ones that I havn't ruined, but even the ones I have are still found and i try to fix them, but I know that the damage I have done is not to easliy repeard. I saw their faces - all of their faces - as I read aloud my heartfelt words written by somebody else. Robotic, cold, dead. Their eyes pressed into me and asked one million questions I wish with all my might that I could answer. (They remind me of Ewe, of his final glare before I struck him down and took the crown for myself.) Tears well in my own eyes at the thought of him and in a blink, they are all gone. 23 faces fall from my vision, and in their places stand the entire District - and the fallen families.

I did not dare to look at them again. Instead my voice croaked into life and I trembled with quiet words the letters and sentences printed on paper. (Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem forever. And ever, and ever, and ever until my last dying breaths.) But I seem to have remembered an awful lot of faces lately, and those that I accidentally glanced upon - every last Jay and their poor, broken faces - seared into my mind. When the crowds disperse and I insist on going outside, they do not second-guess me. ('Let me go!' I snarled at the Peacekeeper who snatched his hand back at the touch of his on my own. My fingertips are saved only for my friends, my family, my 23 souls.)

She is curled up in the District Square, and I do not need confirmation from any others to know who she is. Familiarity dances across my mind - she's one of Storm's family. (I feel him nod, feel his head hang heavy in my chest - they were close, I assume.) With not another word I approach her - quiet, still. Knowing that the memories in her book that she clutches to her chest are so important, so sacred, to be cherished for only her - I know this because before, I would steal memories away and keep them all to myself. After, I stole lives. They sing in my sleep, laugh in my bones, cry in my nightmares and walk inside of me today, tomorrow, forever.

In my mind, Storm reaches out to touch her. So I reach out to hold her hand, smiling as I do so. Together, I think. Together as one.

"Hello," I say, offering up our fingertips. I am so, incredibly sorry.

"Here. Take my hand."

Take his hand, Miss Jay. I have a feeling he misses you terribly.

I have no idea what I am even doing here. I am in the back curled up crying, when my family is stronger than me. whatever happend to Mist Jay, the bad ass girl who wasn't afraid of anything I wanted to be the girl I once was, not the one who is scared of everything and everyone. A single touch and I feel as if I want to scream and die. I don't want any contact, I just want to fade from existance and do nothing and be nothing. I am nothing, I am a no one and I have no purpose anymore. I don't want anyone to help me, and keep me alive, I am alive for one reason, to go into the games and die. I was ment for nothing, not when the brother I was mean to has left me. It is all my fault, if I had gone, then he would be here. My heart beats as fast as an animal running for it's life. I instantly recognize the girl, she was the one who won the hunger games, she is alive and Storm is dead. I want to scream at her, punch her, kick her, and kill her. I want her death, I want her head as a trophy hanging on my wall. I want her blood and nothing else. The only thing holding me back, is the fact that I can't, I am not a killer, maybe once I was able to kill, to hurt another for my own pleasure, but not anymore, I am no longer the same person. It seems so long ago that people compare me with Devil, who is the worst person in the world, now no one would make that mistake, she laughs over Storms death as if it were the best thing, and I cry and hide till no one knows who Mist Jay is anynmore. I give the girl a glance, with tears in my eyes, they are swollen and red, I was once pretty with my blond hair, but now...now I am a desaster. I give her a look of sadness and take her hand.
