Appearance:
Jaeger is quite average looking when compared to others within her district. Often marked with mud or dirt on her slightly sunken cheeks, as well as on her hands feet, ankles and pretty much everywhere else you may look. When she isn’t covered in dirt from the fields, which is rarely, there is a pretty little face hiding under all of the muck. Not gorgeous, not a head turner, though she does have a certain draw to her. With raven coloured coarse hair which falls in curls around her face and eyes as dark as black coffee, she has the ability to mesmerize should she really need to turn the charm on.
Standing at five feet on the dot and weighing ninety-nine pounds she is both small and rather skinny. Poor nourishment will do that to a person though. Her cheeks are slightly sunken in, though not so much as to cause her to look gaunt like some of those around her. Both she and her parents work the fields, the same long hours, though they make enough to feed themselves each night which is good enough for them. She is often found in her work outfit, she doesn’t have much when it comes to clothing though there is always a pale green cotton dress which hangs hidden away from sight in the back of her closet. It had been bought for her when she turned twelve, the year of her first reaping and only gets pulled out once a year when that time rolls around again.
Personality:
Jaeger is a hard working individual. She started working the fields when she was eight with her parents and has always been more mature then most her age. She has a sense of wisdom about her which allows her to think rationally under pressure, an invaluable tool when your higher ups insist on screaming at you every moment you work. Despite her difficult work situation Jae is tough, stubborn and true. Those who she befriends, and there will be a few, she will stand by through thick or thin and there will be no moving her once she puts her foot down. This stubborn streak will get her into trouble in the future as it has gotten her into trouble in the past.
Although she is stubborn she is not hot headed, staying cool in trying situations is something she is good at, something that her parents are proud of. In this day in age being short tempered got you punished, even got you killed, especially in the districts over ten. Surely in those districts one and up to three you could do what you liked. Bursts of fiery anger in teens would be tolerated right? Well, not here. The calm and collected would make it farther here and ... there. Fear only presents itself once a year. The day of the Reaping.
On a daily basis Jaeger puts on a happy face, she is pleasant, cheerful and can be helpful if she sees that someone is in need of a hand. Otherwise she more or less keeps her head down and keeps busy. She doesn't meddle in other people's business if it's not warranted though if someone is in danger and she can help she will try her best to do so.
History:
Jae was born to a pair of loving parents. She was a planned child, one who was wanted and desired very much by her mother and father. Times were difficult, as they had been for years, though miraculously they had both made it though the Reapings and had come out without their names being called. They were lucky and though they wished very much that the brutality of the Capitol would have ceased by the time they had their child, the couldn't afford to wait any longer. All they could do when their little Jaeger bird was born was to hope that by the time she came of age the Hunger Games would have stopped and things would be more peaceful.
As Jaeger aged she did so gracefully, always helping around the house, never crying despite the gnawing hunger, she was the model child. People about the district who knew her constantly commented on how she was a good girl, the perfect girl, and those little praises here and there fueled her desire to be good and make herself better.
From the age of eight on she began working with her parents on the fields, because she was so young she didn't make the same amount, though she was given money here and there for her time and her work. She never liked working the fields though she knew it had to be done and so she did her best. As she grew older she began to appreciate the quiet of the work and the strength that it gave her. Sure she didn't have the protein that she needed to really build the muscle that she could have, though with what little she did eat she did have a bit of it here and there.
To this day she works daily to help provide for herself and her aging parents. A little extra money here and there never hurt anyone, right?
