Another day another trip to the gym. Another few hours spent welding a sword, swinging a mace and lifting weight. Another day gone by without anyone to speak to. Sure they might say things about her but never to her. She was an odd sight in the career circles. Bianca lacked charisma where almost everyone else seemed to ease into social situations with hardly any effort. Maybe it was because they were shorter than her, maybe because they're builds were made of lean muscle instead of bulky ones. If Bianca were a man she would be popular, no doubt. However owning different parts meant ridicule and difficult days for the Tarbuck girl. She wished she could just get into the Games and prove to everyone that the giant of the gym could win, that Bianca the Beauty would dazzle in a crown.

The gym. The place where the youngster of District two could show off, could try and prove to each ptr that w had it in us, we had what it took to become that one person who would walk out at the end of the day, the only one who would be the survivor. You had spent your whole day at the gym today, just like the two days before, mastering your skill with the pliers and even the knife. Some people would have thought that this was odd, the weapons of choice thats you thought was worth mastering- but when you were involved in the type of things you were, mastering the players was only the beginners step towards perfections. Your fingers glide of the worn metal as you pull your gaze up to find a rather peculiar lady. You smile at her, she was different from the rest, before you begin to wander over to her, your face carved into one that radiated with charisma.

A glance in the wrong direction at the wrong time and suddenly blue eyes meet brown. Was there air in her lungs? Because it didn't feel like it anymore. The boy- oh it's worse that it's a boy- smiled at her and suddenly nothing can stop the frantic beating of her heart. A deep breath of air is taken in, only it doesn't settle the frazzled nerves in the girl's mind.

The boy is walking closer, the easy smile still clinging to his lips his entire face alight like the sun, or some distant star that is too bright to touch. Her gaze hits the ground, fingers clinging to the hilt of the morning star she was practicing before she was distracted. What will he call me? Beast? Brute? Or the every biting, ironic "beauty?"

"Sorry," she sputters out without meaning to. That will only make it worse, apologizing only eggs them on.

usually during training you kept to yourself, preferring not to be in the presence of others as you learned how to master weapons that assisted you in your artful process under the sheets, away from the eyes of the public. as soon as she saw me coming I knew that she wasn't very comfortable with the situation at hand. It was cut almost, the way her cheeks became the colour of a new born rose, the way she averted her eyes, as the way she fumbled around for words, apologising when nothing else came. Your smile grew slightly, your eyes steady as the bored into the top of the girls tipped head. "Sorry? Why are you sorry- you haven't done anything wrong," Your voice is as smooth as marble. You lean against the bench your head tilted slightly, studying the girl intently.

What was she sorry for? That was a real question she had to answer. Why should someone apologize for existing? Bianca was so used to people taunting her that she turned the blame on herself instead of those who made her life miserable. The boy had a nice voice, smooth like liquid chocolate. It wrapped around her and made some of her nerves fade away. Daring a look at the stranger, she found him looking at with not disgust but with... interest?

"My name is Bianca, what's yours?" she ventured, letting her morning star hand from her side, while she forced her eyes to stay on the boy instead of retreating to the floor again.

something about her was a question, one that was unsolved, one that i wanted to solve. Bianca. Thats was her name. It was one that I hadn't heard before and then again it made the question of her flare up to the next level. Her hand is tun floating between our bodies, her lie gaze staring into yours- you could practically feel the determination that flowed through her. Standing up straight you take the girls hand in yours, "Aragorn, Aragorn Blackmore," You say, her warm hand slipping from yours after a moment, "what you doing here? What lethal toy are you mucking around with?" An easy grin slips onto your lips as your eyes[ look over her shoulder and at the place where she had been fumbling with a few metallic weapons.

So shocked was the girl that this boy hadn't commented on her height, build, or her appearance at all, that Bianca didn't really know what to do. Aragon Blackmore. What an official sounding name for such a handsome boy. Though, Bianca felt if she got much closer to the boy she might break him, since she was always so clumsy and bulky.

"Training. I'm working with a morning star right now but I'm best with swords what... what are you doing here?" she managed to get out without staring at the floor. "Mr. Blackmore." She tacked onto the end, not sure where exactly she stood with this new, handsome, stranger.

She hoped this wasn't a big joke at her expense.

the morning star, that was an interesting type of weapon, one that I had never really had the patients, or the interest to indulge my time with. The sword on the other hand thats was something I liked to spend a little time with I liked the sword, it was like a mega sized knife, and boy did I love the knife, lives were cool, they were fun, they were how I liked peel the nails from my victims. "Mr. Blackmore," she said and I almost chuckle, my face folding slightly. "Please, Aragorn- may I call you Bianca?" I asks quietly, moving so that I was standing directly in front of her. "And the sword, well the sword is something that I excel in as well," I wink before walking over to where the swords hung on the walls, "What do you say, we have a little battle of our own?"

So dumb. Of course he would have preferred his first named. At his inquiry of her own name, Bianca gave a little nod before listening to the boy go on about swords. Bianca's eyes watched him as he walked over to the rack of swords, asking her for a fight. No one ever practiced with her anymore, not after she gave that blonde kid a concussion. However she was glad for the opportunity. Walking over, she yanked a sword from the display looking this ?Aragon boy in the eye. "I accept," she said, feeling more confident on the battlefield then on the social front. "But I can't be held liable for any injuries." Was that Bianca Tarbuck flirting? Surely a pig was taking wing somewhere.

A slight nod indicated thats she would allow me to call her by the name which represented her and not the name that represented people who shared her blood. That brought a smile to my lis which I hid as I picked up on the the heavier blades, I pull it away from my body and test the balance, it was nice- perfect almost. smiled at the blade before running a gentle finger along the sharp edge. "I accept," she said, and you gave her a small smile, "but I can't be held liable for any injuries." she adds and this time I cannot hold back the smile that splits across my face, my shoulders shaking as a chuckle runs through my body. "I'm sure there won't be anything for me to be worried about... but you on the other hand, I cannot promise that you will come out in one ice," I almost purr as I move towards the matt that would be the boundaries of our fight, "bring it on sweetheart."

"Bring it on sweetheart." The comment pulled the corners of Bianca's lips into a frown. How many times had she been called "sweetheart" by some beefed up Career who wanted to humiliate her? It was thrown around like her nickname Bianca the Beauty, haunting her even when she was young. Towering over all the other kids, she wasn't exactly what you would describe as feminine which exposed the girl to all kinds of ridicule. You'd think that looking more like a boy would make it easier to make friends with them, but that was the exact opposite of what happened. She was called ugly and hideous and every other synonym related to them. That one word sweetheart had triggered all the insecurities about herself in half of a second. Her hair was too thin, her eyebrows nearly invisible. Having broken her nose multiple times, it was crooked and swollen, and covered in a freckles. She was tall and bulky, wide in all the places girls are supposed to be small.

It was only when a weapon was in her hand did Bianca feel truly in control of herself. The longsword's weight brought her back into reality as she stared down her opponent across the mat. He was lean, which might give Bianca the upper hand being heavier, however it also made her a bigger target. Freeing one of her hands, she brushed her straw colored hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. The calm before a battle settled over her body, knees bent, eyes focused, fingers gripping the hilt of her sword- but too tightly. Swallowing hard she examined the boy's stature, trying to pinpoint where his weakness may be. Where she could slip a strike into. After having no friends for seventeen years, Bianca Tarbuck had plenty of time to practice her swordplay.

Lifting her blade she ran towards Aragorn, bringing her weapon down from above. It wasn't meant to actually hit him, just feel out the waters and check his reflexes. If he was as good as he said he was, he would be able to block her blade before it cracked open his skull.

Fighting is like dancing, you can learn a lot about your partner from the way they move and how they interact with you.
