Hades Birch

The training center had become quite a boring experience for Hades as time went on and the years went by. But Hades felt like it was the best escape there was, ever since his cousin had died in the sixty-fifth games the house had been quite depressing. For some people sorrow and anger blanketed their emotions but for other members like Hades he tried to go on with life and not bathe in the past. Does that make me such a horrible person? The problem was that Hades tried to look at it from a more logic-based standpoint, Beatrice simply wasn't the best, especially if she got herself beheaded by that girl from three, Hades just couldn't shed a tear for the occasion, he wasn't happy that she was dead but he wasn't upset either.
The tension that tied the Birch household together at this point was too much for Hades to handle, he couldn't just stay oblivious to it anymore, he couldn't just act like there was nothing wrong. He wondered if the Birch house would ever be the same again due to the fact that now two family members had been reaped and killed. Some of the Birch's just tried to act like nothing happened in order to uphold the Birch 'status', but to be honest Birch's were never really well received by District two anyway so trying to uphold their status was a moot point. But Hades hated the way Cassius and Beatrice made him look, the scowls people gave him when he walked down the street.
'Isn't that a Birch?'
'Yea it is, eww.'
The mutters behind his back made his blood boil and the only way to escape it all, the only way to escape the many different hurdles life was throwing at him was the training center. Fuck this, I've just enough of this. I should go and train, it's like that's the only thing I'm good for now anyway. So with that thought in mind Hades found himself here, the same familiar atmosphere, although it was getting too ordinary is never ceased to amaze him, many young kids training hard in order to be the best. Some cutting up some dummies with knives, some smashing in their skulls with flails, some simply doing some simple weight lifting. It never ceased to amaze him how hard working all of these people were and all for one goal.
At least here no one would take notice to Hades, at least here Hades could do his thing without having people mutter behind his back about how he was a Birch and how Beatrice and Cassius had died and how all Birch's were failures. In some ways Hades resented Cassius and Beatrice for what they had done, they had died and left their own family looking like this.
Radiating with confidence the young career boy marches up to the rack of knives that is surrounded by fake dummies just waiting to get their throats slit. He holds the knife in a reverse grip, ready to attack the dummies just standing around. It's tense for a moment, he can feel beads of sweat running down the side of his head. No one is watching him but he feels himself hesitating, he can't steady his breathing, he can't bring his arm arching around to slice up the dummy in any way imaginable but for some reason he just can't, "I just need a drink." He says to himself, not bothering to shake his head at the bad excuse. He sets the knife down and walks away.***
After spending about five minutes drinking a drink that wasn't needed and trying to get himself to stop being a chicken and actually do some training he goes back to the station but finds that the knife is gone! Great, now someone's taken my knife. He thinks to himself and goes up to the person who's closest to the station. "Excuse me, but I believe you've taken my knife." He says to her, in no mood to start a fight over a stupid knife.
