Dice Rolls and Items!

The 66th Annual Hunger Games is inching closer and closer and I need to get some questions answered to exceed my chances at winning(hopefully) if a character of mine gets reaped. Firstly, I need to know how the dice roll operates during Roleplay. I looked at the Damage Calculator and I used it, but it confused me. Are the Dice and Damage Calculator the same? Secondly, I don't know how to paste the Roll on my threads and posts! Is the Dice only available at games? How is it used?
Last Question! Well, with items, is their a certain way the items in the cornucopia are mapped out? Or are tributes allowed to just say [John picked up Bag] anytime they want to?

2.The mod randomly selects 8 items per tribute. Each post made in the blood bath gets another item.

Hi Tyler,

Regarding the combat system, Aya explains it here. The dice codes for the different weapons along with the damage is here. The two tools in the sidebar are just meant to make it easier to find the attack and calculate how much damage your character has taken.

You can use the dice codes only in the Hunger Games boards or in the battlefield; Hunger Games boards are only available for posting for the tributes, but in case you want to practice, you can do a just-for-fun thread in the Battlefield board.

To use the dice, you just have to paste the applicable code somewhere in your post. Most people in the Games would put it at the end of the thread, but sometimes they like to write a response to the attack after. Just be aware that you won't know what the damage is until after you post and that you cannot change the dice and thus the result.

For the items, as Puppy said, the Gamemaker(s) for that Games will randomly create a bloodbath items list that will include at least one weapon. You can only pick up one item per post, and the first post has to be unarmed (because why would you have a weapon already xP).

Like I said, you can practice with the Battlefield, but a lot of this comes with experience. Personally, I had never used the dice codes before I had a tribute in the Games, so I was thrown into the experience. Once you start though, you get used to it and it'll all become natural to you. Feel free to ask more questions and members will generally tell you their experience, but there's nothing quite like going through the experience yourself.

The dice only work on specific boards, such as the Just-for-fun board, and the Games themselves.

I just found a new problem that I needed fixed...How do we know how much damage each attack is? I see on my screen 1000, 2000, etc. But nothing like [4.5 damage]. I guess it must be the damage calculator I am confused with...Can anyone answer this question?

hey tyler! You can use the "attack lookup" on the sidebar - you type in the number (for example: 8050) and it'll show your attack, which is a Bruised Head (3.5 damage)

Adding on to shrimp... There are also some extra weapons which have been added over past ratmases which is the Christmas thing on here. There are stuff like fire and throwing axes. You can find that stuff by looking back on the notice board until you see them.
