When Jareth woke up that morning his mother was in the kitchen counting some money. Jareth eyed her a bit and she gave him a thumbs up. Since she seemed excited she figured that was money for tesseras. He snickered a bit at her excitement as his eyes looked his brother standing at the kitchen counter. His brother held a drink in his hand and he rolled his eyes at their petite mother. After grabbing his jacket from the hook on the wall he headed outside. Shortly after he stepped outside his brother appeared behind him. When his brother saluted him he returned the salute before his brother headed down the road. Jareth watched him walk away and presumed he was going to visit his girlfriend. His brother's girlfriend was 18 so, she was still in the game for the reapings. As his brother disappeared more he wondered how his brother would take if she was picked. He then realized that was a stupid question because , he would cheer her on. So, the Jareth corrected his question and wondered how his brother would react if she was killed. He also could not help but , wonder what his brother would do if Jareth and the girl got picked. Would he root for me or her to win the raven haired teen asked himself. 

When he could no longer see his brother he turned to face the other way. Shortly after he began walking he hands went into his pockets. As he walked he watched all the people wandering the street chatting and bragging. Near a bend in the road he stopped at small wall near a tree. After taking his hands from his pockets he sat on the wall and kept watching the people around him. Only a little ways from him a few ladies were talking about the up coming reaping. I hope my son doesn't get picked one lady said in a worried tone. What is wrong with you hun? I hope my daughter gets picked she would win the other lady argued back. Jareth could not help but , snicker at the faces the ladies were making. Every time the pro reaping lady made a comment the other women made this weird face. Jareth knew both his parents were for it so, he wondered what they would say to this woman. He had a feeling that if the women said the wrong thing his mom would start a loud fight with her.
