W E L C O M E H O M E "The Beaucroix Reformatory for Wayward Young Ladies".....what a joke, am I right? Aye, Kid, why so glum? Your parents throw you away here, too? Or were you sentenced by a judge'er somethin'? Nah... you don't look the part... The girls here who did some effed shit to get locked up at Beaucroix's all got that look, y'know? Like they're ready for round two of whatever it was they did again. But then again, we're all kinda like that. One way or another. Those of us whose parents had enough of us... the crazies... the criminals... the druggies... none of us think we deserve to be here. We're all unforgiving. None of us are sorry. Now, don't cry, Kid... Seriously, don't cry. One of the Staffers see you cryin' and they'll send you to one of the Shrinkers and boy, lemme tell you firsthand, you don't want that. It's all "how does that make you feel" and "ohh, I want us to be friends" and next thing y'know you're high as a goddamn kite in the dorms with the last 48 hours wiped off your memory and unable to taste anything for a week. Unless that's your thing. You here for drugs? Most of the addicts hang out by the tool she-- oh? Yeah. Didn't think so. What're you in here for, anyway? You crazy? Ha... guess that's kind of a dumb question. Because all of us gotta be some kind of crazy to get thrown away here. But you the real kinda crazy? Don't be shy, Kid. Half the girls in here take enough sedatives to knock out elephants cold. And the other half are finding things to shoot'em to the stars without going to the infirmary, if ya catch what I'm saying. Calm down, kid. I was just sayin'. Raise your voice too high and you could get a demerit. Three demerits and they put you in solitary for a day. And let me be the first to tell you, solitary makes hell look like Eden. And y'wanna know why? Because he's in there. The devil. Mhmm, I swear it. A girl of mine told me she heard his voice on the fifth night she was in there... She got a week in the shoe, don't ask. Anyway, she swears she heard him. And she's never lied to me. Honest. She said on the fifth night she heard a voice, raspy and hot. A voice that sounded like cracking bones and the silence of death and she was so shook she couldn't even tell me what he said. And she's not even one of the worst girls here, even. All she did was try and set her school on fire... adults are such hypocrites. Like they never thought about it when they were our age... daily... Wait, why're you here again? Whatever. Keep it to yourself. It's all you'll have to call your own while you're here, anyway. But Beaucroix isn't as big a place as you think. There are no secrets here. And if you aren't willing to bleed it out, it'll poison you. Here at Beaucroix's, we're all bleeding. You gotta bleed out your innocence. a s t e r b e a u c r o i x seventeen | male | played by loren Aster has his crystal methods all down. His mother praises him as a golden child when juxtaposed next to his twin sister, Thalia. Growing up, whilst Thalia was thrashing violently up against the cushioned walls in solitary confinement, Aster assisted his mother sweeping up the shards of glass and china in the living room she left in her wake. However, one shard of glass never made it into the dustbin. No. Somehow a student at the Beaucroix Academy downstairs got a hold of it, a nice, long shard, and attacked and repeatedly stabbed the wards attempting to strap her down for her daily doses of sedatives. Aster stood in the doorway as the wounds drew that holy scarlet, smoking a blunt and grinning. Aster wants chaos. He deals contraband to the girls, lets his fingers slip on the locks for those in solitary every now and again, but not without a price. He wants to watch the overbearing mother who essentially drove his father away and keeps half of himself locked up and certified crazy shatter into the powdered hysteria she has been breathing in for the past seventeen years. Sympathy pains. Every lash and "controversial treatment" method inflicted on Thalia to try and tame her he feels bleeding through his bones. He's screaming curses at his mother through his million dollar smile. He puts out his cigs in the exact rose bushes he helped her plant. He understands how busy his mother and the staff are with all the girls, and keeps his bedroom door open for them if they ever need a chat, or a wordless release. Boys will be boys. With her every release from the silent prison the girls keep their distance from her, whispering in hushed voices behind their hands of matters of this and that and lies her mother fabricated to anyone stupid enough to believe to keep her in chains and how Thalia hates her! Thalia's empire is a bloodied one, built from the bones of her mother inside her skull. m a r i l y n m o n t g o m e r y seventeen | female | played by Tristen Birthed out of the flaming tail of a comet, suckling on the necter of starlight as an infant, Marilyn is a starlet in every sense of the word. From a family wealthy enough to purchase life's finer goods, Marilyn has been on the stage since she could walk. Performing for all of the lesser folk to enjoy, and starring in many of the commericials that the Capitol films when displaying the skills of District One on the Capitol's televisions, she is recognized by many. Raised as a single child, she is known to never view anyone as competition, and she has made it her sole talent to be able to lie and cheat her way to any throphy. Having lost her virginity to her upcoming and starbound play's director caused quite a scandel for the girl, and realizing the tastes of the bittery side of fame, she became addicted to morphling and many drugs that pushed her beyond the stars. Due to her worried parents, she has been placed into Beaucroix Academy, where she will learn to better herself. What no one knows, however, is that Marilyn is already the queen. She'll claw her way out of the facility, ending the lives of as many pawns as she must, and walk straight to her parents and glare them in the eyes. "Surprise, bitch. sixteen | female | played by Clover After her sister Luxe tried and failed to die, Dahlia understood exactly how to pry attention from her distant parents. she didn't want to die, she just wanted to bleed enough to keep their eyes on her. It worked, of course, but despite filling the bathtub with blood and carving pictures into her flesh, she did not die. The explanation of course, was that she could not die. Determined to test her limits and prove her immortality, dahlia would torture herself endlessly, showing off exactly how invincible she was. This systematic abuse lead to lapses in her memory - at times, she is unable to recall anything at all and demands answers from everybody around her. Luxe has the weight of the world on her back, only she can't bear it at all. She feels everyone's pain. Front page stories of sugarcoated starlets falling into an indescribable despair, whispers on the streets of children in the lower districts starving to death in the cold. In a world of dry indifference, Luxe quenches the thirsty earth with a constant flush of tears and sobbing wails. She cried for those she reads of in prose and poems, who died never knowing love. She cried for those she meets and she can sense the slightest hint of sadness in their smiles. And then she cried for herself, because the world around her was in a fiery disarray. sixteen | female | played by Onyx Trauma tattooed itself into her veins like scripture when a "burning at the stake" incident left a twelve year old Inertia scarred in more ways than one. After the flames cackled and died Inertia found solace in becoming a child of the night. No candles, no fire sides, no hearths. Just dancing in the shadows; ballrooms for the evening's children in palaces the moon couldn't find. What was first a hobby and a comfort to ease her mind soon became a way of life. Faith in the supernatural and unseen, visions of the future and the invisible world so clear and pristine within Inertia's third eye. She turned to tarot cards and tea leaves to settle the bubbling paranoia and severe distrust of those around her when they scalded to a broil, burning those not wise enough to hide. There's an honesty in these mirrors, a truth in the smoke. And in Beaucroix's distorted idea of the game of life, Inertia is a forerunner, accepting the fact that the institute's cause is not to reform the girls, but detain them from society until they're old enough to take responsibility for their own actions. Born a psychic medium and empath, she claims to be able to see and commune with the spirits of the deceased. And she just might be telling the truth. Doubt her, and she'll start spouting off messages from your dead grandmother that are scarily accurate.
