Perry’s five foot 10 inch form was lithe and toned; making him one of the fastest tree climbers among his work group. Climbing trees from a very young age ensured Perry's upper body strength was well developed. While his three older brothers were each tall and muscular, Perry did share their olive toned skin and calm green eyes. In the right light, his mother bragged, his eyes looked almost teal. Even though Perry lacked the intimidating builds of his brothers, his face was already beginning to develop their distinctive features.
Working as a climber in his district, Perry usually wears very close fitting clothing. Since most of his clothing was mostly handed down by his brothers, however, he learned quickly the essentials to sewing and alterations from his mother. His favorite color being green, Perry loved wearing earth tones. His wavy hair was a rich, chocolate brown color that was usually matted to his face as a result of being outside.
Personality:
Perry’s family was not rich. Growing up, he knew want and he knew hunger. As a result, he also knew resolve. Despite not growing up rich, Perry was always taught to be thankful for what he did have. Even though life in District 7 was rough, Perry loved to laugh and is quite comical. Before having to leave school to work in the forests, he was very attentive. In fact, the only time his parents fought was when his father needed him to leave school to go to work.
Being the youngest of four brothers, Perry was much smaller than they were even at his age. This gained him the nick name “Runt”. Though the physical differences between him and his brothers were obvious, he could not ignore the fact that there was something else different about him. As they got older, Perry noticed his brothers spending more and more time with girls, flirting and courting. When Perry became a teenager, however, he realized he did not feel the urge to flirt with the girls in the district. In fact, all of his friends seemed to be girls; however, he could not even fathom flirting with any of them. Rather, it was the boys in his work group that caught his eye.
Knowing he was different, Perry felt somehow defective. Perry had never known of anyone like him. In fact, he did not know if there was even a word for it. What would you call someone attracted to someone of the same sex? Through the uncertainty, Perry always felt the need to prove himself; to overcompensate for this part of him.
Even though Perry works very hard both in the forest and at home, he gets distracted very easily. He is sometime seen as ditsy or distracted; likely as a result of Perry's mind trying to contemplate all his thoughts at once. Perry is also not the best at keeping his emotions in check, often wearing his heart on his sleeve. Despite his strong will, he has a tendency to let looks persuade him.
History:
Born the year of the 2nd Quarter Quell, Perry is the youngest of four boys. His mother, Madeline, works as a seamstress while his father, Peter, worked in the lumber yard with the two younger of his brothers Pavel, and Pete Jr. Perry, himself worked in the forest as a climber with his oldest brother, Paul, who was a lumberjack. Even with the combined incomes from his family, they still struggled to survive. As a result, Perry began signing up for his tesserae as soon as he came of age; much to the dismay of his mother. Even though the idea of being reaped was terrifying, the only thing scarier than the Hunger Games was the thought of his family going hungry.
Before Perry went to work, he was a very attentive student. His favorite subjects were math and physics, which was useful when it came time to estimate where a tree would fall in the forest. In fact, he eventually learned to judge not only an objects trajectory, but also the rate it was moving. This was not only true for falling trees, Perry was also able to do this with other objects as well such as knifes or axes. This proved to keep him safe when the stray tool came hurdling to the ground.
When it came time to begin working, he was very apt at climbing. It seemed Perry was able to easily fly up a tree and disappear into its branches before many of the other climbers could find their footing. Not only was Perry an agile climber, he also became quite handy with the axes and knifes use in the trade. Knowing that the tesserae increased his chances of being sent into the Games, Perry would become much acquainted with his tools.
