My feet carry me down to the training gym, a place I've gotten to know quite well and I take the elevator down, the crystal allowing me to watch the ground quickly grow beneath my feet. The buzzer dings and I step out, my ears instantly zoning in on the sounds of grunts and clashing metal of other tributes pushing their bodies to the limits. I put my shoulders back, my chin in the air as I try to look confident. I want to practice more with the swords, they've been natural in my hands as I've been training with them, since the instructor showed me how to properly use it. I run my hands over the shining metal and gently pick the weapon up. It shouldn't feel natural in my hands but somehow it does, as if it was made for me. I take a few practice swings before attacking a dummy, decapitating it in a single swing. I've become pretty good with a sword if I do say so myself, not like a career though, I'll never be as good as them.
I attack a few more dummies before growing bored and I wander over to the first aid station. I should probably learn this stuff, I'd prefer not to bleed to death in the arena thank you very much. I try out some of the stuff the instructor is trying to teach and find I'm pretty good at it. I've helped my siblings before, healing up scrapes and cuts and a few broken bones. I'm also pretty good with healing tracker jacker stings. After the dark days, the Capitol left a few hives in the districts and every so often, one of my siblings stumble upon a nest and ends up with a few stings. Their side effects are scary, trust me, I've experienced them. The hallucinations made it hard for me to distinguish between reality and hallucination. I listen attentively to the instructor as she shows me how to wrap deep wounds and treat some other minor things. I'm quickly mastering these skills and she nods in approval. "Why don't you go find something else to do?" she says. I nod and turn, almost running into someone. Crud. "I'm sorry." I mumble, looking up to see the girl from 12, Mary I think her name was. "Oh, hello."
