Personality: Alex is outgoing but lacks friends because he is violent. He has a moody disposition when working after school as he would rather not be at work. History: Alex lives with his mum and dad who work alternate shifts in the electrical product industry - his mum the day and his dad the night shifts. He is the 2nd oldest of five children but the oldest boy. He has three sisters called Daisy (aged 9), Jessie (aged 12 - his twin) and Maya (aged 17) and a brother called Matt (aged 7). He goes to school during the day and then, along with Maya and Jessie, helps to run a market stall that their aunt runs selling fruit and vegetables.
His mother's family were born merchants selling fruit and vegetables but his mother, after the lose of her grandma couldn't cope with living in the main town, thus she married a poorer man from further out of the town. Before Alex or his older sister were born their great-great-grandma was shot dead by a peacekeeper at a reaping for attempting to run off before it had started. Alex is now worried about the reapings he will attend. Their aunt is their mum's sister and their grandparents are all dead, most dying from starvation and hypothermia.
