Captain Levi Heichou
He’d agreed to the given job with a slight nod of the head, eyes unwavering as he stared at the man who had handed him the piece of paper with the required information on it. He was a short man — and for Levi to even admit that the man must have been some sort of Imp, Levi was not tall, not at all, in fact he was one of the shortest people he had ever come across, that was for a fully grown man. The man before him had beady eyes and a long hooked nose, giving off the faint impression of a rat, as distasteful an appearance as the man surely was. Levi could smell him from the seat he sat on, and had to resist the strong urge to curl his lip in disgust. For a moment he wondered how long it would take to get the dirt out of the carpet, or how long he’d have to keep the window open to remove that smell completely from his room. He’d think about that later, there were more pressing matters at hand.
(He had to pretend that his work was far more important then his clean room. Sometimes it was increasingly difficult to remain under that facade, especially when men such as the rat in front of him just tromped in, showering the clean ground with dirt, mud and filth. Oh how his patience was tested.)
Instead s small, cruel smirk danced on the edges of his lips, a cutting curve of the lips that held no warmth. It was like ice. Everyone seemed to blanch under the cold gaze of Captain Levi Heichou, the man before him was no exception, he seemed desperate to look anywhere but at Levi’s face. It was no wonder that the short, iron hard man was known as the stuff of nightmares, a reputation built on years and years of cold deeds and inexplainable acts of ruthlessnes. It was any wonder the man had a heart at all, but he did, he’d often pressed a hand to the scarred skin on the side of his chest, fingers almost expectant to find not a single thing, but after a few moments there it would be. The drum of a heart, and it fooled the Peacekeeper into believing that he wasn’t as tough, rough and deadly as his thought he was. He was only human, after all.
Brown eyes survey the papers, flicking over them with cool calmness, on the inside he was displeased. the outside remained a mask of calmness. The requirements for this expedition were low and he knew his squad of six were more then capable of doing this. The expectations he had placed upon them were enough to fulfil this task several times over. And yet he was being assigned a filed exercise that any normal Peacekeeper could do. The words before him hardly hinted at anything other then the ordinary run of the mill kill the Mutt go home. But why would the Head Peacekeeper’s give the Special Operations squad such a simple task? There was only one thing that struck his mind, there was a twist to it. Something that made it too dangerous for ordinary Peacekeeper’s. But if that were true why would it not be written here? In fact, he was positive he could just take Mikasa with him and get it done in one day.
In fact himself and any other squad member could have completed it with ease.
However, he could not do that, it had been well over two weeks since they had received their last assignment, and day in day out structured training was becoming a bore. He could tell Jean was slipping into the deadly state of complacence, Sasha was losing her edge, just yesterday he had caught her steeling from the kitchen — the act had been so completely unplanned that it was any wonder she had gotten even into the room. Everyone knew she was a capable thief, so it had been mildly surprising to catch the normally ghost-like adult with the food in her hands.
How odd.
Looking upwards once more he made a ‘shooing’ gesture, indicating the weasel man to leave.
”Close the door, as you leave.” He ordered, tone crisp and cold. The man nodded, hands wringing nervously together before he dashed out, door closing with a soft click. Sighing Levi stood upwards, he found himself having to force his eyes to gaze at the destruction of his clean carpet. ”Fuck.” He snapped, eyes glaring at the smears of dirt, the anger in that gaze had compelled people to act when fear had frozen them in place. If only dirt was the same.
Grabbing the jacket that ay across the desk he shrugged it on, hands gripping the paper, making his way out of the room he moved down the hallway — it was extremely difficult to walk out of that room, knowing he was to return to grim and filth. Perhaps he could get Jean to clean it. No, that would be no good, the guy was an idiot, he’d make it dirtier. Mikasa seemed the only one capable of cleaning decently, but that essentially had to do with the fact that she did everything flawlessly.Regardless, if he wanted his room perfect he would have to do it himself. The hallways were unsurprisingly quite, with only six people living within the entire building there was little noise, pleasant enough, but sometimes it did get lonely. Levi was used to it, however.
Earlier that morning he had called for a four o’clock meeting, with ten minutes to go he moved into the meeting room — a large oak table took up most of the room, around it sat six chairs, to be filled by each member of the squad. As usual Armin and Mikasa were already seated, early and ready to go. Levi took his position up at the head of the table. Leaning back in the chair he placed the papers in front of him, dark eyes riveted to the door.
Hurry up, filthy brats.
Looking at Armin he raised a questioning eyebrow. "Arlert look over these with Ackerman. Tell me what you think whilst we wait for the others."
