"My name is Adina Orenksi. People say that age is a number, some say it is a factor. I don't. Although I am seventeen, I would call it an advantage. I'm young, and I know that it is my only strength in this place.
But that strength comes at a cost, one that I will pay willingly should the taxpayer come knocking."
But that strength comes at a cost, one that I will pay willingly should the taxpayer come knocking."
Name: Adina Orenksi
Age: Seventeen
District: Two
Gender: Female
Age: Seventeen
District: Two
Gender: Female
Appearance
Short and tidy. She is the delicate creation of two militaristic parents who have made a girl who doesn't take failure as an option. She is clean, tidy and organized. She dresses as though it was her uniform. Hair up, in a practically convenient way. Her hair is blonde and is usually pinned into place upon her small head. Her brown eyes are large while her face is small which can make her look more innocent than the rest. Her body type is quite slim, though she is agile and able to take care of herself thanks to a lot of career training.
Adina likes to keep herself in tune. She doesn't like faults. On first appearances, you might see a perfectionist. She is exactly that. Not everything she does is perfect, but everything she does is to strive towards it. She doesn't care about looking amazing, or dazzling. She wants to do the best with what she has without looking like a stranger. She strives to keep herself orderly, and her parents have formed a militaristic uniqueness to the way she dresses. Almost everything feels like a uniform to her.
Personality
"Wisdom, I don't have that. I've had an upbringing, which has given me knowledge. Wisdom comes from experiences. Come back in ten years."
Adina is typically a type-A personality; Competitive, manipulative and greedy. However, compassion can be found within her, and she knows this. She is commonly finding herself in more situations that require things like teamwork. She is excellent at it, just not leading. She isn't a leader. She is an absolute follower. Loyal to the core. If an order sounds stupid, she complies. She doesn't question. She was brought up this way by her parents, who are die-hard Peacekeeper loyalists. Not peacekeepers, and never were, but they trained their child to become a good one.
Her personality revolves around her job, now. She is to become a peacekeeper and she wants to ensure that she is the best she can possibly be. This means that her work and job comes before friends, and even family sometimes. Though if she was to choose between the two, family would be an inclinational offer that she may be unable to resist aiding. She is an only child, which explains how much her parents have planned to invest in having Adina become a peacekeeper. This will mean honor for the family, and a safer community. They believe, anyway.
Adina's father has been particularly pushy because he wanted a son. It has been clear to Adina for a while now, and they haven't bonded at all as much as other children have with their father. She rarely speaks to him and usually confides in her mother's knowledge. This has led her to become quite volatile and defensive when it comes to being made to look weak. She doesn't want anything to stop her, especially her father's lack of communication and masculinity.
History
She was born in District Two and has lived in the same, small house her whole life. At the age of six she began attending school where she was always friends with more boyish people. She wouldn't call herself a tomboy at all, but she is definitely not fond of the femininity inside of her. She's knew this from a young age. She wasn't allowed to watch the Hunger Games until she was of age to be reaped for it. This was an error on her parent's behalf because it made her ultimately scared of her first reaping. However, she was taught to protect her phobia and now she has grew from it, reversing the effects by training for the Hunger Games instead. Yet, now that she is reaching the end of the reaping age limit, she has set her eyes on other goals.
Adina's upper school life consisted primarily of offhand cadet courses after school which she focused on much more than school itself. In school, she took pride in Maths, science and English but lacked the creative spark to enact any other subjects of note. Because of this, she had more time to dedicate to the Cadet course and was accepted into the Peacekeeper Academy (see plot) where she is now able to train to become a peacekeeper in the distant future.
Adina still lives with her family, but on weekdays including friday, she stays at the Peacekeeper Academy itself and isn't allowed to leave due to the regulations there. She plans on acing the course, but there obstacles in her way. Ones that she'll need the help of others to overcome.
