Alright, so this is going to be a more serious staff search than they have been in the past. It seems like the site and the staff are in a bit of a negative, lethargic funk right now, and we're looking to change that. So as I said, we are taking this search very seriously. We will not choose someone simply because s/he is a veteran member who we know very well. We will not choose someone who has sporadic bouts of inactivity. We're looking for someone who's in it for the long haul. Someone who's ready to make a long-term commitment to work, and not let anything else—OOC drama, IC drama, deaths of characters—affect that. We need some positive, hard workers to add to our team and I'm hoping we'll find some who rise to the occasion.

That being said, we're looking to fill two positions this time around—moderator and librarian. The duties of a librarian are pretty clear, and Kay and the rest of the team will make sure you rise to the occasion and get everything done. You'd be responsible for helping with the directories primarily, and of course, character checking. The duties of a moderator, however, are a little bit less clear. In the past, this has been viewed as an easy position, more lax than all the others; this needs to change.

We're going to lay out some set responsibilities for moderators. Here are the major ones:
-- Make the site a welcoming place by helping integrate new members
-- Take on leadership roles for site events planned by the staff
-- Be active in the community
-- Review character apps
-- Respond to problems in the cbox and in threads

In particular, character apps are EXTREMELY important. Mods are typically not as busy as the other staff members, so we ask that they spend the most time out of anyone reviewing apps. Part of moderating the forum is accepting bios, and we expect our new moderator to do that.

Now, I don't mean to scare anyone away—I encourage you all to apply. But just know that this staff search is being taken much more seriously than any of the past ones. Don't be upset if you weren't picked; most likely it's merely because we feel you aren't active enough, or you've talked frequently about other major responsibilities elsewhere.

Why should we choose you?:

This is mainly me applying for librarian because I’d love that job more, but the following paragraphs will apply for either position. I’m willing to be part of the team in any way possible.

I enjoy maintaining organization, which is basically everything the librarians do on top of accepting character bios, setting an example for new members and welcoming new members. Whenever the face claim thread is backed up to three pages I always really want to fix it even when I obviously don’t have that power, and the same goes with the character creation forum. I visit this site every day with the intention to write and talk with everyone, but there are a lot of times when I find myself caught up with posts, all while the cbox is empty and I don’t have much school work going on in my life. I’d like to use that time to do something productive with the site, like helping out the other staff members (and everyone else too) as best I can. Activity checks seem like they’re extremely stressful for librarians, and I’d love to help them out with that also. They do such a good job keeping everything organized, and I’d like to be a part of that bigger picture.

This applies to cbox maintenance, too. Like many others I’ve witnessed the abuse of trolls and aggressive users, and I’m aware that it is every staff’s responsibility to keep the cbox clean and civil, especially now that the movies are coming out and the site will attract new members. That is actually one way in which I have tried to assist in the past, helping new members answer questions and lead them to the right places to get started on the site. There have been times when I’ve logged in at 3 in the morning and a newly-registered user was in cbox asking about certain rules and how the reaping process worked. I was happy to help, and still am.

I’ve been here since December of 2011, and I don’t think I’ve actually had a bout of inactivity except when I left on some sort of short vacation. Even then, I still visit the site as often as possible because I love this community and I love the people here. Drama has never affected how often I visited the site, and neither have my character deaths in the Games (3 so far). If chosen I am here for the long-haul, as moderator or librarian.

Mostly for a mod position~

I'm very much a people person. Still fairly young, I consider myself mature for my age. Never harsh, I put much thought into what I say, willing to provide criticism where it is needed and to ensure that nothing said is hurtful or unnecessary. I've worked since 7th grade as a peer mediator, learning skills and techniques to resolve disputes between others. This makes me able to  play a more neutral role, or "devil's advocate" as I do not take sides, despite being close to either party. I would have plenty of time to be on the site, and within my time here I have been very active. There is no reason as to why this would change at any time, so inactivity is not a threat anywhere in the future. I'm articulate, and I'd like to think somewhat intelligent, I'd be able to resolve any issue with the utmost urgency. I'd treat any job I was given as priority, and ensure that it was done before any deadline I was given.  Having never dealt with the death of a character, I am more than sure that it would never affect my attitude towards others. As, being in character should have nothing to do with the person as a whole.

Apps would be a main focus of mine. Versed in both the hunger games universe, and the rules of the site, I am confident in my ability to review apps accurately and fairly. Having been in advanced english since elementary school, so proofreading and literary analysis are nothing new. Despite my short time on the site, I feel as though I have truly meshed well with most people. I'm open to criticism, and would always respect those who have more experience than I.  I'm enthusiastic, willing to put myself out there and have fun doing it. Very passionate about the site itself, I would do the best that I could to ensure that it is kept a peaceful place for goodhearted roleplay. 

I am by no means a veteran here but, I feel as though this place has become a second home of mine. Somewhere people can truly be themselves and embrace all of what that means. Being staff would be more than a privilege, to closer contribute to the place i have grown to love. Ensuring that it continues to be a welcoming, happy environment which I joined. Where people no longer need to hide behind walls of what is expected and to truly be themselves, just as I felt I was able to here. This is a truly a beautiful place, and I would love to contribute to keeping it that way.

Previous experience: Before coming to this site back in 2010, I was a moderator on a Bleach site for five months. I then began a new Bleach site, as an admin, and have also been an admin a tumblr roleplay, as well as a mortal instruments roleplay. I then served as a tutor here for a few months before resigning.

Why should we choose you? To be honest, that was a question that I asked myself a about a year and a half ago when I worked as a roleplay tutor. At the time, I said yes because I really wanted to be staff, even though I should have declined, I knew I was not in a good place for it at the time. I think that back then, I wanted to be staff just because I thought it would be cool and I enjoyed it when I was a moderator on the other site. I'd never been a tutor however, and I didn't think that I would find it so difficult.

At first I quite enjoyed it, I really loved accepting apps, policing the cbox, helping out with post-a-thon and trying to create live tutoring. However, I found that I was really uncomfortable with the main part of my job, tutoring! I really did not like telling people how I thought that they should be writing, especially when I lack precision in my own style. I found myself avoiding tutoring, resulting in an immense feeling of guilt because I knew I was shirking the most important part of my duty as a tutor. On top of that, things were highly stressful in my life last year, I was really down on myself already and feeling guilty about something that I was not comfortable with was not helping. So, I resigned and the decision was really hard, but I like to think that I made the best one for not only myself, but the site as well.

However, all that is in the past! I am in a completely different frame of mind than last year, being much happier with life in general! I'm back to that bubbly Ele you first knew, and Canadianinging is in my blood. I'm a welcoming person who is always willing to help out someone new, and I attempt to make an effort in the cbox even though it's all glitchy for me. I have some great ideas for plots that I would like to try out with the entire site if possible (district wide), and am rearing to go. As a Gap student at Iona, I don't have a lot of real life friends, therefore more time for the computer. (;D JK, it's me, I have many lovely friends, I just prefer you guys).

As for my credentials, I did take English AP in year 12, as well as Writing 12 and English Literature 12. My writing standards seem to be up to snuff, although you may not want to quote me on that, and I already peruse all the new bios anyway, it wouldn't be too hard to critique as I move along! I've always loved organizing too, I can go at it for hours, enjoying menial jobs that most others don't like. I feel a sense of accomplishment at the smallest of things, and don't mind working hard for a site that I have been completely active on since my joining in August 2011.

Not only that, I have also gotten heaps better at my graphic making and coding! It's something that I have been trying to teach myself through tutorials that I find online, so I'm getting there, slowly! I really enjoy making graphics for anything really, I've also found that I have gotten a lot more careful about how I do things now as well. I can spend up to three hours on one graphic, making sure it's exactly right. I would apply that same level of dedication to anything and everything I would do as a member of staff.

Honestly, I really would love to just be back on the team, although roleplay tutor was maybe not the right job for me, I feel confident in my abilities when it comes to making people play nice, checking bios, helping out with plots and graphics, organizing and anything else you would have me do! I'm your Woman!

One last thing that's pretty good about me is that I don't really tend to take sides and get along well with pretty much anyone. I'm a cool headed gal who's a great problem solver, especially after spending the past 10 months working as a boarding matron in a school. I've really grown up this year, not that I wasn't completely chill before. What I'm trying to say is that I do not let my emotions rule me, which is something tha tI think is very important for any member of staff to have.

Helping people is always a passion of mine as I help many every single day of my life. It's part of my life, and it's very rewarding. Often, I'll sweep through the introduction board when I see a new member post, and I love jumping in and welcoming them, and answering any questions they may have. I'm not one to beat around the bush if I don't know an answer- I'll simply state, I don't know the answer, but I'll see if I can figure it out, and get back to you. If I can't figure out the answer, I'll let them know and make a few suggestions of people they can ask.

Where I work, teamwork is a huge priority. I don't have to like whoever I'm partnered with, but I trust them enough knowing we must get the job done. I love working with people I've never worked with before as it also gives me the chance to get to know them. I can get along with anyone when it comes down to it. Part of teamwork is communication. Without the communication in a team, nothing will ever be finished, and I understand this.

It's no different with the members of this site. I may not get along with everyone here, but I enjoy being around them. I'm always learning from other members. Everyone has different ways of approaching certain situations, and it fascinates me when other resolutions I've never thought of are brought into the open. It allows everyone the chance to work through anything standing in the way.

I love being organized and in order. Without organization, everything would collapse. While I'm working, I know exactly where everything is, and how to easily access it. It makes the job so much easier when I'm responding to an emergency. In an emergency situation, time is crucial, and knowing off the top of my head where everything is, is very important. It makes me cringe when something is out of order, and I'll do whatever I can to fix it.

Learning is very important. I am always learning, and I'll never stop learning because I'm not perfect. I feel the moment I stop learning, I should move on and try something else. Sometimes, when I'm training a new person at work, they'll show me a different way of doing something, and most times it's easier compared to how I was going about it.

Why should we choose you?
I am good at welcoming people to certain areas and I also like to help show them around. I can find almost anything really quickly on this site because I know my way around it well. I am also good at finding things around websites I just joined. Another reason is that most people say that I am great at coding. I know most of HTML coding which is what proboards runs on.

I also enjoy helping keep a good environment and stopping people who wish to hurt or annoy others. I for one hate it when people are to aggressive in speech and I would like to stop everyone who does before they hurt someone else's feelings. That means I would like to help with CBox maintenance. I read very carefully but quickly so I can get people answers as fast as possible.

My account was only created last November and I didn't read the rules carefully back then (looks at one warning), but I have gotten better and I like to help people follow the rules now. I'm not a veteran on here, but I know my way around it.

I am also very neat and organized. I like everything when it is neat, and if it isn't I like to organize it. I know this may not count but I also have quite a few plots which I maintain well in my opinion.

I know that I'm not very likely to get this job because there are other amazing choices for this, but I would love to help this site as a Moderator or a Liberian to make it more organized, kinder on some people, and I would love to help new people out as well.

Previous experience: I have started multiple sites and have become familiar with the duties after being on the site for over two years.
Why should we choose you?
I feel I am able to fulfill the role of Moderator due to my love for the site and the people on it, as well as a good understanding of how everything works around here. I always enjoy learning more about individual pieces and being a staff member would aid me in seeing what it is like from that perspective. However I don't wish to simply take the position for the sake of my own learning but that of others. In the case of new members I like to take it upon myself to help them if there are no staff members around.

While I have disappeared at times due to a heavy schedule, internal and external drama were not the causes. In fact, they haven't driven me away from the site, but generally closer to it so I might find a way to interact with others and possibly give and get some advice on similar topics. Even without being staff, I enjoy giving pointers on bios that people have written, and looking over some to see if I might help anywhere. While not an official guide, I have written a For Dummies version of character creation [here].

I love to watch members grow and develop bios, characters, and writing styles as their time spent on this site lengthens. Being able to aid them myself would be something I would greatly enjoy. As well, I know that accepting bios takes time and energy that not all staff have and anything I can do to lessen that load would be something I would take pride in. This semester in school I am taking part in the Peer Tutoring system and am learning how to best teach others in things they struggle at, as well as give support and encouragement for when they try something no matter if they succeed or not.

Aside from circumstances such as family or school trips, and other outside non-fluctuating forces (school, appointments, ect.) I am online regularly and often, therefore I would be able to aid in site events with little difficulty on average. I feel as though I am open to others and that they would be able to be comfortable in asking me for advice. In the CBox this would become more so apparent as I would be readily available to answer questions and ease any major or minor disputes. I have taken a Conflict Resolution course at school so I have experience in doing so.

Overall, I would love to be a Moderator in order to help the site run smoothly without high levels of overtime work from the staff. Members and staff both need aid sometimes and I would be happy and willing to give it. As is, I try my best to do so even now and simply look for a better way to continue doing so.

Why should we choose you? To be brutally honest, you shouldn't. I'm not just saying this to be all nice and friendly; there are honestly a solid five or more people better suited to be staff than I am. With that being said, I think that I have a very solid set of skills for either of the two positions. These skills consist of finishing everything and anything I put my mind to (beneficial for reading bios and/or when it comes to the fc and activity checks), I'm generally cool and collected - I keep a level head in most situations, and do my best to avoid conflict, I hate failing, mostly because I hate disappointing people who put faith in me, so I'm more inclined to do fulfill any responsibilities given to me. Furthermore, I was the chair of my schools Senior Gift Committee, so I have experience in running a group of people and pushing others to get things done in a personable way.

I know I'd be a hard-working staff member. I often find myself on the site somewhat bored because I have a dearth of things to do. I have so much time on my hands as a senior right now, and would love to actually use that time in a productive way. Even though I'm 99.5% sure this is probably just a waste of words, I think that 0.5% chance that I'd be able to help this place out is more than enough of a reason to apply for this position.

In advance, I'd like to mention that although I'm keen on both positions, the librarian position would, to me, fit my boots nicely. This is because I feel that I would be better at fulfilling the roles of such a position due to the nature of my previous experience. Yet if you were to need a moderator over a librarian, I would definitely be equally up for that.

I have had a lot of experience in the moderation of a forum due to my past experience as a Forum Moderator on a community called 'Lord of the Craft' of which is a Minecraft roleplay server that deals with real time roleplay as well as forum roleplay. The forum is typical and shares a lot of resemblance to ours except the community is much more youthful in it's population and I believe that for many reasons it was more hectic and chaotic therefore I believe that my experience in dealing with situations you would associate with that kind of behavior will come in handy should you choose me. I am also acquainted with the ins and outs of basic forum moderation from moving, deleting and locking / pinning threads. It becomes second nature after a while.

On the same server (I will feature a link below) I was also a part of the application team which handled... applications. App Team members were dedicated to looking through apps as a job and checking whether they were of standard, and if they weren't then it was our duty to guide (not outline) our standards to their application. It was always an aim to help people learn to succeed in the application rather than fail to not succeed. This also ties in with the moving of applications and such.

In total, I was a member of both teams for a solid two years until I decided that it was definitely my time to leave as the community did grow sour and changes in administration made it difficult to work sufficiently. Hopefully this outlines my ability to sustain a workload that is typically the same.

On the same server, I was also part of the event team. This allowed me to create events for the players within the game (these were roleplay events) and also allowed me to show some leadership to the other team members by advising them on how to make events themselves and also feature in mine and I in theirs. Together we made many events that are akin to the likes of MMO events. I was also part of the media team for some period of time making music, but that I feel is partially irrelevant.

Again, same server; I was also on the villain application team. This is difficult to explain so I will try my best. To perform 'villainous' actions in roleplay, one had to write out a very extensive biography, reasoning and moral judgement application which was considered one of the hardest of the applications in the server that I helped manage. The team were required to filter through these as you would any other application but the most relevant part was the management of information. All usernames were allocated to a google document and we were to put all of the information in alphabetical order on that sheet. It was a difficult endeavor but one that I expect will be similar to the organisation system of the librarian which is why I mentioned this.

Why should we choose you?

You should choose me because I'm a safe bet. I'm going to be in college for another year and a half and then I'll be off to University which to be honest is probably the only time that you'll see less of me, if it is difficult. Which I don't intend on it being, but who knows. I am very enthusiastic (despite the serious nature of this post ...) and am very keen to help this community in what way I can.

In regards to my activity, I know you cannot be a hundred percent certain because I haven't been here much at all. But I can assure you that I am active and already have the site as my homepage so I have no excuse to 'miss' anything. I look every hour at least, and always tab out of whatever else I might be doing in order to refresh and check I'm not missing anything. This wouldn't necessarily be my way of working however. I feel that in the event of me being chosen for a staff position I would definitely be able to dedicate more solid hours of my time to the position because it will spur me on to continuously provide for the community around me.

Although the community may not be fully, or at all, acquainted with me I do believe that in time, regardless of a staff position, I will grow to meet more and more people within the community as I have already attempted to do so (and succeeded!).

I believe that as a staff member, you can rely on me to have the initiative to always provide to the role and add my own spark to the job that keeps it a positive bubble that others like to swim in. I am all for positive thinking, and I do believe that because I am quite positive I can maintain a happiness needed to keep the role clean and non-lethargic.

Previous experience: I used to be a co-admin on a Sims 3 website, but we decided to close it because there weren't many members joining. Oh, and I was a librarian on Puppy's site that he shut down recently.

This is mainly for librarian because I feel that I'd enjoy it more~

I try to be on as much as possible, which is a few times everyday for me. I know I've only been a member for a couple months (just about 5) but either way, I haven't once thought of leaving because I know that if I left, the next day I would just come running back because I'd miss this site to much. Not even that, there's just no reason for me to want to leave. This place is definitely a second home to me because everyone is just so frigging nice.

I'm definitely not a veteran member, as I joined November 27th, and neither am I an older member (being thirteen). I consider myself fairly mature though when it comes to certain things. Then I'm a very organized person (some people say 'too organized') when it comes to most things. I don't see how you can be too organized though, without organization, where would we be? Exactly. Usually when the FC thread has a billion posts, I just want to fix it to help everybody out but of course I can't do it, and that makes me feel kinda bad because I want to help them and just I can't stand looking at the FC thread with posts from a week before, for some reason. It just bugs me and sometimes I find it confusing because CTRL+F almost never works for me. If I became a librarian, I'd try (key word: try) to set aside time every other day or so to update the FC thread, review bios, and any other duties I might acquire. 

Also, I spend half of my time looking through bios thinking, "this doesn't make sense" and I think I'd be fair and not rude in accepting bios, even if that's not a primary job for being a librarian. It's just really fun looking through bios (for me, at least. Other people may not think so). I really like welcoming people, because I remember being a newbie not so long ago and how hard it can be for some to find people to RP with and talk to and such. It's also fun to get to know new people, or at least for me because I love to talk and meet new people.

All in all, I think I'd be a pretty good choice for staff. To me, being a staff member means that you want to be committed, nice, welcoming and are active. I think I'm all of those things, but I'm not saying I'm "the perfect staff member" because I know I'm not, but still, I think I'm a pretty good one.

one other quality about me is that i think that both of positions in question are of equal challenge for me and i am willing to accept that challenge. Previous experience: Unfortunately, no. However, i've started to recognize the responsibilities of staff in the time i've been on here.

Why should we choose you?

I'm writing this mainly for moderator, as i've never been the most organized person (which, organization is obviously a big part of being a librarian), and I just don't think i'd be right for that job.

I should probably start out by saying that i'm definitely not a veteran member of this site, not yet at least. I've only been on here for about, three, close to four months I believe. Despite that, I have every intention to stay on this site for a very long time simply because i've had some of the best experiences in my RPing career on this site.

I like to consider myself a pretty social person. I've found that I don't really have much trouble making friends and overall I find myself talking in the cbox to anyone and everyone whenever I can (even during classes, oops don't tell my teacher). If it's alright, i'd also like to mention that unlike most others on here, I do everything on my phone. Whether that's for better or for worse is unclear, but I do know that it allows me to be on the site, chatting in the cbox, replying to threads, really doing anything related to the site at pretty much any hour of the day.

I've always loved writing, and have found myself in advanced english classes for a while now. It's always been a hobby of mine, and whereas others cringe when we get an essay assigned to us (admittedly, sometimes I do too), I find myself thinking that it won't be that hard, because of sites like this that have helped me build confidence in my writing. I am by no means the best writer on this site, not even close, but this site has helped me find my own style of writing, and for that I am honestly so grateful.

When I first came here I was honestly so scared to go into the cbox, although as soon as I did I realized how many great people this site has helping it. Everyone was so welcoming, and the community was much nicer than any other site i'd been on. I slowly found myself making more and more characters, and pushing myself to write better with each one. I always check this site throughout the day, and I find myself drawn toward the character creation when the cbox isn't very active. I love seeing people's characters and the interesting stories that come along with them, and i'd love to be able to accept characters for people and get them roleplaying on this site as fast as I can.

When I watched the staff become backed up on things like character acceptance, I wanted nothing more than to help them. I found myself telling myself that I could be of great help with all the time that I spend on here. Furthermore, i've always liked helping people in real life and on this site. I've watched people grow on this site and i've been growing right along with them, and it's one of the great things about this site that i've come to enjoy.

I'm by no means perfect, i'll be the first to admit that. There is probably plenty of other people that would be better than me for this job. I get sad, I get angry and I did take a week off from the site this past week, because of a small problem with the site, but mainly because of large family problems. However, those are all worked out now, and i'm feeling even better about the site now that i've gotten a chance to clear my head. I believe that I could really help this site run smoothly, and being a moderator wouldn't just benefit the site, but it'd help me grow as a person and help others even more.

Why should we choose you? I will admit that I prefer the librarian position.

There is the simple ‘I’ve done this before’, but as the site has gone through changes since I was last on the team, I understand that it doesn’t mean that much. However, when I first started as a librarian back in 2010, I had to pick up the job on my own and maintain the character directory/face claim by myself with a little help during the Activity Check. Now that there are three very active and very helpful librarians on the team who have been doing their job well, I feel confident that I could learn the new aspects of the job and still be comfortable working all of the lists without fear of breaking the board – a really old fear of mine from when I first started the job. I had made sure to update the character directory and face claim every day, setting aside at least one hour for the duty, and I will bring that drive and dedication to the job if chosen.

I will admit that it was the fear of inactivity that drove me to resign the previous time. I had been going through a rough time with personal issues, but what really made me step down was the fear of college. Now, as a third year student who will be going into her senior year, I believe that I have learned how to maintain a schedule, using lists to organize my days and Excel worksheets to organize my weeks, which allows more free time that could be spent on this site. Also, did I mention that I keep college student hours? :D

I also work a front desk job which means I had to learn how to interact with people in various modes – the relaxed individual who just wanted to check out a book, the stressed individual who couldn’t find a classroom, and the tired individual who just wanted to get things done and fall asleep at the desk. Bonus that I work in a music library? –nudgenudge- (sorry for making it obvious)

Why should we choose you?

Mostly for librarian, but I am fine with either one.

I would like to be a member of the staff because I have a lot of free time. Really, thirteen-year-old girls do not have that much going on. I am fully aware that I am very young, but I am mature for my age. I am a very organized person and I could quickly update the face claim list and approve bios. I have a lot of respect for the rules and I also have a lot of respect for the members of this site. I have a lot of experience with drama and I know how to handle it, so I think that I would be good at enforcing the rules. I am very helpful and I would like to help make the site a better place by enforcing the rules and making sure that rudeness and other rule breaks are taken care of.

As I said before, I love to be helpful. I would very much like to help new members and give them a warm, fuzzy welcome to the site. I know how hard being new can be, so I would like to prevent new members from having a difficult time getting started. I make friends easy and I am a huge socialite, so I think that I can be a big help to newbies because they don't know anyone yet and don't have people to roleplay with. I would have no problem with a new member sending me a PM asking me for help, and I would try to help them out the best that I can.

My main focus would be approving bios. I would read each and every one of them carefully to check for mistakes. Honestly, I enjoy reading the bios of characters because I really do appreciate the effort that people put into their characters. I am confident in myself that I would be able to judge all applications fairly and help members fix problems with their characters. If I were to be chosen for librarian, updating the face claims list would be a main focus as well, because I know how long the requests can get, and I would like to help out the librarians with that. I know they have a lot on their hands, so I would like to take some of the weight off their shoulders.

I joined on November 29, 2013, so I cannot be considered an old member, but I am not new, either. Although I am not a veteran, I know my way around and I know that a staff member should be kind, helpful, mature, and active.

Why should we choose you?

I’ve been on this site since November 2011, and from that time forward I have seen the site grow. I’ve watched staff members come (and go), and I’ve seen their drive and love for the site. I’ve seen simple, small changes that have made all the difference, and that’s one thing I believe to be awesome. I’ve tried to help where I can, answering simple questions and pointing out little things I see here and there, but I’d love to do more. I’d love to have more of an opportunity to help the site grow and spring forward. Of course, members are more than welcome to input ideas and thoughts, but I’d absolutely love to be able to do that from a staff member’s viewpoint, as they are people I’ve looked up to in my two years here.

I’d like to say I get along fairly well with most people here, and in every way possible I do my best to answer things in a collected manner. I would do my best to bring to either position a friendly, yet informative manner. As I am home schooled and have a lot of time right now, I feel that I’d prefer the librarian position and the duties it brings with it. I’ve asked about the duties and the details that come with it, and I realize that time that must be set aside for it. However, either position would be a fantastic opportunity.

Regardless of all else, my favorite thing about the site is the ability to see someone grow in more ways than one. When I joined the site in 2011, I was, to put it lightly, not very good at writing. I couldn’t hold my own in quantity, let alone quality. In the course of two years, the change I have seen in myself is drastic. The help that I received from staff and members alone kept me here, and there are many names that come to mind when I think of those who encouraged me along. That’s what I think is beautiful, the fact that so many people can come together because of a common interest and help each other to grow. So, that’s why I want this position. I want the opportunity not only to help the site grow, but maybe just encouraging one person along.

I did take a six month break last year because of personal matters, but since my return I feel that I have been more dedicated and active than ever. I joined this site at a rather rough point of my life, dealing with an anxiety I won’t dive too far into details about. However, I will say that it influenced me for the better, and it helped me to express myself in a way that I am thankful for. The site definitely came into my life at a time when I needed it, and that’s something I’m grateful about. But yes, I would like to think that unless something overly drastic comes up, I will be here for quite a long time, at the level of activity that I am now.
