Cyrus Octavius - District 2

Appearance:

Cyrus has a seemingly usual face, with no large (noticeable) disfigurement/scars to make himself memorable. His nose is rather wide and flattens out at the end, but is by no means long. He has quite a wide mouth, but this is accompanied by thin lips which he tries to hide by smiling more often than others do. However, his smiling nature is counteracted by 2 very piercing, dark brown eyes - like a Hawk. In that way, his face is rather kind but his eyes scream not to trust him. The walnut brown hair on his head is cut short and styled up into a quiff which comes a few inches off the top of his head. He often wears a sweatband to stop it falling down when training. Due to his age, he's obviously clean shaven, but his eyebrows are rather peculiar - they're thick lengthwise but the hairs are rather spacious, and they're very long.

Luckily for his career training, when Cyrus got his growth spurt he grew to a good 6 feet tall. Due to this, he's quite thin, and thus has to do a lot more weight training than others to get stronger. This disturbs his training quite a bit, as he has to focus more on the weights and not as much on the skills. His legs seem to go on forever as they're (obviously) also thin, yet this makes him faster than some of the other careers (if you're wanting some guidance, he could do a 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds). Due to the fact that he works on the weighs, he weighs about 150 pounds, and can roughly bench press 30kg.

Personality:

Much like any boy born into District 2, Cyrus was raised as a career, and so has developed a determined yet stand-offish attitude towards many other people. As he knows that other people that are training may be watching him and trying to suss out any weaknesses, he's rather wary of people when they attempt to talk to him and tries to figure out what they want from him very quickly. He chooses to train alone (when not with his father/brother/sister) and tries to do it out of sight of others, once again because they might be trying to figure out his weaknesses.

As he isn't as physically strong as others, this makes him very determined to become what they are. He trains on weights almost daily and doesn't usually give up before he's finished in his mind. This also resonates in his personal life, if he's doing a job then he has to finish it before he can take on something else. For Cyrus, if he's wants to do something, then he will do it, no questions asked.

However, his determination proves to be a drawback. When he wants to get things done, he'll find one way to do it and rush into that, without thinking of the risks of doing such a thing or when there often are easier ways around the problem.

As he's too young to properly work on Weapons manufacture, he instead chooses to give his Father ideas when he comes back from work and tries to help him with paperwork. His knowledge of guns can often make him cocky when they're talking about them with his friends. He is a bit more laid back when with friends, but is still rather wary of them and knows that they're all watching each other for weaknesses. His stand-offishness gives him trouble making new friends, but this isn't much of a problem to Cyrus.

History:

As a District 2 citizen, Cyrus was thrown into career training from a very young age, as his Father wanted the honour of having his son a Hunger Games victor. Of course, there's no certainty that Cyrus would win the Games or even be in them at all, but that didn't stop his Father from forcing him to go training every morning. By the time Cy was old enough to make his own decisions, training was just coded into his system - he knew nothing else.

As mentioned before, his Father works in the munitions industry, and Cy likes to help him out with paperwork when he gets home. Cy also has a Mother who is a Secretary to one of the Grenade making Companies in District 2, and so she is well respected all across their mountainous land. When they were younger, Cyrus and his siblings were looked after by a carer before his Parents came home, which is probably the main reason that he likes to spend so much time with his Father, and looking into his work.

Cyrus has two siblings - a 20 year old Brother (named Max) and a 17 year old Sister (named Cleo). His relationship is very good with them, as they're seemingly the only people he can be his true self around, without being wary of their intentions or whether they're keeping their eyes on him. Max works in the Stone Cutting industry whereas Cleo is an office worker for a Weapons firm, much like her mother.
