Gem is your plain Jane. His appearance is basic to him. He has the typical blonde hair, the killer baby blue eyes, well chiseled body. The basics for a district one boy. He is only lacking height. Most boys stand a good half-foot taller than him. His only visual flaw would be the missing left ear. Which he lost when one of the other trainees was swinging a sword around for fun.
His style is pretty much gym clothes. He likes wearing his sweats to the gym along with a basic wife beater. Plus when you train all day what else would you want to wear. But when he's not at the gym, he tends to wear basic jeans, leather boots, a plain solid color button down, and his dad's leather jacket. The whole look actually doesn't go together like it sounds.
Personality:
Gem comes across as hard most of the time. He tries to be a good person, but his hard edge does tend to get in the way. He has always had problems getting a girlfriend and making friends. As for who he tries to be. He tries to be the person people want to talk to. He wants to be that friend that everyone has. He wants to be more than his father and trainer wants for him. A Person
He believes that this is done with his training. It was there he didn't have to be nice, or friendly, or anything else. He was there to beat dummies and fight with swords and be someone he really didn't want to be. In life where is he going to need to fight dummies to make friends. That's right. Nowhere. And nowhere is where he is headed.
It is what it is. Life gave Gem some lemons, And he is going to have to lie in the bed his dad has made for him. Gem may not have chosen this life. But he was dealt a hand and is playing the game. He made not come across as weak and emotional, But he could break. When he does will it be for the best. Only time can tell.
History:
Growing up Gem knew one thing. The hunger games. His earliest memories were that of the games. Watching Children slaughter each other. He got a kick out of it. He would sit with his dad each year and watch, seeing what each tribute would do in situations. It was during these times him and his dad would start talking about what they would do. This made Gem think, and his father was impressed with his answers.
When Gem turned six, his father thought he was at the right age to start training. His father knew a guy that had connections to getting Gem into one of the gyms that most of the victors from District one has come from. The training was brutal and though. But Gem pulled throw.
When Gem turned twelve, his trainer along with some other people thought Gem had a chance in being in the Hunger Games. But his father didn't want to risk sending His son in the arena his first time, and held off. He thought a few more years and he would without a doubt be the victor of his games.
But Gem wasn't always happy with the training after that. He was being push into situations, and he started taking a little time to his self out side of the gym. Spending hours just setting in his room and think. He felt like he was going to go crazy.
