Marcel PERA
Name: Marcel Pera
Age: 17
District: Two
Gender: Male
Codeword: Odair
"Oh, I get it. You thought that was funny. Well look at this," He shows the flat edge of a knife he had in his hand. "Look how much he is laughing." He plunges it forward. "So," Again. "Damn," And again. "Funny." He stops. Revelling in what he has created. Artwork, a game. "Apology accepted."
Appearance - "If you don't see me at my best, that says enough about how I see you at yours."
His eyes sockets are deep, and his silvery eyes are rarely seen otherwise glaring from them. On the occasion that you see him on a normal day, you will find that his jawline is likely his most prominent feature upon his face, despite the stubble that litters it dimly. His face, particularly his mouth, has an innocent look to it. Innocent yet tactile. It knows what you are thinking. His eyebrows arch politely, as though they were welcoming. They contrast his somewhat fearsome features may suggest. His hair is a dark brown that in some lights is mistaken by some as being black. His skin is a pale white and his cheekbones are wide and soft.
He usually wears quite unformidable clothes. Nothing he wears will ever highlight his personality. Not hardly. He usually wears quite typical things from simple polo shirts and combat trousers to t-shirts and sweatpants. He doesn't have much of a regard unless it is something that he needs to wear in order to make his family look better. Like a party, or something of occasion such as that. He has quite an evil smile, sinister and dark. His humor is just the same. Sexual jokes, brutal puns. Things that can make somebody's skin crawl if you aren't used to it. Joking about somebody being killed and then pulling that evil grin, it isn't unconvincing that he could actually do it.
Personality - "Don't fuck with my family. Don't screw with me. Don't play a game. I always win."
Simply; ruthless, brutal and with absolute calculation. Compensating massively for his lack of a real childhood, Marcel is definitely somebody who doesn't take failure on the chin. He grabs it in his fist and throws it at somebody. He is unhonourable, and cold. Due to this ruthlessness, there is nothing he likes more than winning, and success. He will go to any lengths for things he wants. When others get in his way, he is violent, manipulative and crudely callous as to how they are feeling. He has a sickness to him that people may know to stray away from. It's a dark side. Or betterly called, his emotions.
His childhood was spent being raised by a father, and only a father. His mother is unknown to him. One of the significant things that his father has said to him in the past is "Don't make me rue the day I raped your mother." Which says everything that needs to be said about how his father sees him. As a pawn in a game. But, Marcel has grew to adore his father as an idol. He wants his favor and his pride. He wants to have his father proud of his own accomplishments and will go to extreme lengths to do so.
To the Pera family, most children are brought up with the ideology that family is everything. Nothing matters but the name and the deed. What you do to achieve betterness over others is judged by how many people really know the truth. Marcel is manipulative in this way. He will go to many various extents to achieve glory or honor for the family name. But more so, he will go to many lengths to protect the ones he loves. The likes of which he may or may not call family.
History - "Let's just say there isn't a light in that room."
Marcel was born, initially, to a mother and father who were not at all happy with the fact they were having this child. He was a mistake. An unneeded burden. Instead of getting rid of him, his father and mother split up and decided who would keep him simply; by who had the highest chance of earning money alone. The one that had the highest chance, left. His father had no job, so he played that move well already. He found work immediately, because it is always in demand, even in District Two, and he had other family members from his side of the family look after Marcel until he was of an age where staying at home alone wasn't the biggest problem to anybody.
When he was around six, he accidentally started a fire whilst trying to cook food for himself whilst his dad was at work, which got him in so much trouble not only with his father but with the Peacekeepers. It was seen as an act of stupidity on his father's part because he left the young child on his own. It wasn't a completely damaging fire, but it did spur the young Marcel onto having a somewhat anxious composure when it comes to flames and such. Later though, at around eight, he began to watch the Hunger Games when he was on his own in the house. And whilst he was growing up he was constantly told how important it is to work for the family. Little did he know he was just being brainwashed into becoming a money-maker for the family itself. When he watched the Games, it was like watching an experiment in class. Seeing how people would alter the variables to see how the lab rats would react to them. Heat, injury, pain. All of it was interesting to him. He had a sick obsession with watching them, not because it was fun or amazingly edgy. But because it interested him, that control that you can have over somebody.
Marcel's current life is based around the lie that his family is everything. If his family is doing bad, he is doing bad. If the family needs help, he is supposed to help. No matter the cost. His little theories on life are not his own, they are his father's. His father has perfected this little money-maker into working a life of danger and crime. The dirty work is done by Marcel, because nobody else does it. He has that anger inside of him, because of his upbringing, that molds the perfect weapon for the family. One that can be aimed at anyone and anything, and will always hit its mark.
