Name: Aquilla Tullius
Age: 32
Gender: Female
District/Area: Capitol
Appearance:
A skeletal-seeming woman, with a slender, tall physique. High cheekbones, dark eyes, and very pale skin only add to this appearance, one that certainly surprises many people in the bright and vivid Capitol. Everything about her seems to be colored in some shade of white, black, or grey. The only thing about her appearance that is colorful and bright are the bright patterns etched into her cheeks, face, and arms. Swirling and festive, they call to mind the holiday celebrated in parts of the ancient North America, the Day of the Dead. The only other hint of color is a jagged scar that runs down her back. She hates this scar, but she knows she cannot have it removed without explaining how she got it.
Her odd appearance is complimented by her style of dressing. Her black clothing with the occasional hint of vivid color is an odd style to wear in the colorful Capitol, and many people have mistakenly believed her to be in mourning. Flouncy dresses and feminine skirts, the only color being a ruffle or row of buttons. She wears lacy black gloves everywhere. She wears them because she sometimes feels as though her hands are bloody, and the gloves help to comfort her. Her hair is long and wavy, and jet black.
Personality:
Aquilla can be rather difficult to be around. To start, she is terrified of exposing her 'secret' and being punished for it. Because of this, she is always pushing people away. She tends to have angry outbursts when someone lies to her or deceives her. These outbursts can sometimes become violent. She is also extremely vain. Due to how her parents treated her, she thinks that she is entitled to whatever she wants.
However, Aquilla is not entirely without virtues. She is clever and smart, which she prides herself on. She is also very patient, as well. She may seem icy at first, but is a bit kinder once you get to know her. While she has few friends, she does enjoy discussing topics related to her job. Her friends see her as a smart but reserved woman who needs to be more outgoing. She is grateful for the friends she does have, but feels uncomfortable around people she does not know.
Aquilla also has some personality traits that are less shallow than you would expect if a Capitolite. She actually dislikes the Hunger Games. After taking a life herself, she cannot stand to see others do it, even on television. She is also very focused and detail oriented. These traits are very helpful for her job.
History:
Aquilla was a happy girl growing up in the Capitol. Her father was a retired Peacekeeper who was able to earn enough money to retire young. Her mother was a government worker. As she was an only child, her parents doted on her and spoiled her rotten. As well-meaning as they were, they were inadvertently causing Aquilla to feel entitled and greedy her entire life.
Aquilla moved out of her parent's home, bought a small house, and became a scientist who studies biology to come up with better muttations. She got a boyfriend, named Cyprus Rockwell. However, she found out that he had been cheating on her, and in fact was already married. Enraged, she attacked him. While he managed to cut her back, leaving a large scar, she fatally injured him. Her hands were covered in blood, and even once she had gotten rid of it, she still felt like her hands were wet. Due to this, she began wearing gloves everywhere. When she finally came to her senses and realized what she had done, she disposed of the body, and was able to pin suspicion on his wife, who was convicted of murder.
Afterwards, Aquilla began to avoid people, becoming increasingly paranoid that she would let her secret slip. She moved up in rank in the laboratory where she worked, and was able t get a promotion. This extra money allowed her to buy a larger house, which she remodeled to her liking. She ended up having almost no friends, and rarely likes social interactions. However, she enjoys discussing biology and science with her colleagues, and still has a few friends from before the murder.
