Name: Keb Overeem
Age: 16
Gender: Male
District/Area: 7 (Lumber)
Appearance:
For most people, standing out amongst the crowd is not necessarily something that is enjoyed. For Keb and his lengthy body, it is the exact opposite. With his midnight buzz-cut and frequent beard, he is easily noticed when thrown into a group. His eyes and his skin match in color; both a deep chocolate that seem to gleam in the light. Although his jaw is not clearly defined, the way his cheeks slope downwards into his chin make him an intimidating figure. His lips look ready to speak words of wisdom at any moment, barely closed at most times. He wears his cauliflower ears proudly as a sign of his masculinity, reminding him of his past. He occasionally grows a beard, but always ends up shaving it before it gets too long.

Clothes wise, Keb doesn't care about his appearance much. Most likely, you'd see Keb wearing jeans or sweatpants, only caring about protection and comfort prominently. Rarely, if you are able to catch a glimpse, he'd wear shorts when working out and training. Loose fitting t shirts fill his wardrobe, long sleeves nowhere to be found. Most times, however, he is seen shirtless, embracing the weather. Nothing flashy, nothing special. Keb tapes his hands and fingers when working on the saw mill and has come to wear them all around as a habit. He considers it to be a good luck ritual every morning. The only other thing he caries with him are 2 small hunting knifes that he keeps on the sides of his work boots; he uses those for protection as well as woodworking.
Personality:
Keb's personality can be described as eclectic towards each audience. To define his regular personality, you must first look at the front that he gives to the people around him. To the complete stranger, Keb seems normal, nothing special, but polite mannered. Never talking back and always being respectful to them. To his coworkers at the mill, he is a hard worker but lazy; he doesn't use his intelligence to the capacity that he could. Keb would prefer to find a simple solution to something rather than following the normal steps. He is mostly content with his work, although he sometimes is visibly dismay, as his thoughts can overtake his work.
To his friends, he is a funny mate to hang out with! He preferably enjoys having laughable conversations and fun times to distract him from the rest of his life. He is a joy to be around, but sometimes shows his emotions too much to soon. His anxiety gets to him at points of his day; he frequently thinks of himself as a distraction or as an unwanted guest, although his friends remind him that he is neither of those things. And finally, to his family, he is a loyal son. From the time of his father's death, his mother has been almost single handily taking care of Keb and his siblings; because of this, Keb praises his mother and would protect her at all costs. The mentality of protecting kinship is strong within his heart.
Overall, Keb has a conflicted personality. He wishes to be someone that everyone wants to be around and wants to talk to, but has the fear that what he will say and do will do the exact opposite to his relationships. In his free time, he enjoys training in kickboxing, woodworking (making small boxes and such), singing, and writing poems. He doesn't usually sing around other individuals until he becomes comfortable with them. He ,when faced with adversity, trys to handle it calmly, but will retaliate with force and seriousness if necessary.
History:
Keb grew up as the oldest among 5 brothers in a small, wooden cabin built by his long forgotten father, Khalil Overeem. His father left right before Keb's 7th birthday to try to escape the society and find new land with others. He was killed by peacekeepers as he was caught sneaking out. Keb's mother, Donna Overeem, was forced to take care of Keb and his 4 brothers, with Keb becoming the man of the house, much to his dismay and depression. Donna was forced to work in the paper-making factories while Keb stayed at home to tend to his younger siblings. During this time, a resentment for the Capitol grew inside him, and he vowed to himself that one day he would kill them with kindness; that he would bring them to the edge of torture, but show them mercy.
As Keb grew older he began running through the woods as exercise, but it soon became a ritual of meditation and relaxation. He was able to clear his mind while also strengthening himself for the days ahead. After the next oldest sibling became old enough to take care of the rest, Keb picked up small jobs here and there in carpentry shops and wood-smith shops. Occasionally, he would get into arguments with customers about the quality of work, which at first, would be sub par. Not only would he get in small brawls with them, but the owners would punish him by cutting his pay. As this would upset his mother and put their family into a financial problem, Keb decided to get help for himself. He found his way to the oldest shop in the village. Here, he learned from the senior workers how to put effort into his work, how to become detailed, and the virtues of respect and silence as they tried to help him with his emotional problems. As time passed, they also taught him how to wield knives; mainly for the purpose of woodworking, but also self defense and combat if ever needed. The wisdom that came from his elders shaped him into what he is today.
Currently, he has become a respected member of the village as well as someone people rarely have anything bad to say about him. Although on the outside he is the smiling, polite individual, inside he is burning with passion. His father's past has driven him to think that his father leaving was because he was disappointed in his family; although Donna has continuously told Keb about his father's past, and how it was for the family, Keb does not believe her, and still holds the same ideals that he has since his 7th birthday. Today, he still goes on runs to relax and release built up stress, and he is a valued employee at the woodworking shoppe. He tries to be as prepared as possible for the days ahead, and constantly wonders what will become of him and his family.
