The boy smiled at his mom as she gave him a small bucket from the counter, looking at him sternly she spoke. "Now you must be back for dinner, so before the sun hits the water, ok?" Caspian nodded, he'd be good for for his mom she already had Maisie and Paige to deal with and she didn't need another thing to worry about. He hugged his mother and quickly went out the back door. Walking down the steps he smiled as he walked through their small backyard; his father and brother were out at the shop. Caspian loved being at the shop but today dad told him to take a break, which he didn't think he needed. He didn't even feel tired for crying out loud!
His mother told him to go out and do something, he had been inside all day reading and he needed to get out. He didn't mind going out cause he liked looking for shells and building fortresses. Now he doesn't build "castles" he prefers to call them fortresses because his brother teases him and calls building castles girly and Caspian isn't girly. He jumped down a few rocks, being careful not to slip. A big grin came to his face as he hit the sand.
Caspian wore a blue shirt with orange stripes and a pair of trouser shorts, his bronze red hair was short and neat because his mother made it neat. His greeny blue eyes scanned the beach for his spot. He had a spot he liked to sit at when he came to the small beach. It was shady there and not many people noticed him over there ether. For 8 years old Caspian was quite short and still seemed to have a bit of baby fat, which got on his nerves cause everyone made fun of him in class.
He walked over to his spot and sat down, breathing deeply, he took in there salty sea air. He smiled again, it was so peaceful and no one was here to bother him or make fun of him. He kicked off his sandals and walked towards the water, only going up to his knees in the water because his father told him not to go any deeper if he or his mother wasn't there. He giggled as he picked up a hermit crab, wishing it would out grow its shell, the shell it wore was very pretty. Heput it back down and continued to look.
By the end of it he was very proud of himself, he had found a pretty blue one and a shiny grey one he really liked. He had others they just weren't his favourite, walking to his spot he sat down and spread out all his shells and started to count them.
