Appearance

With a defined face and quite a mid-range skintone, Nikolai can sometimes come across as quite handsome. He has very on-point features, such as his mouth which despite the limited size of his lips, usually has a quirky smirk on it, showing quite a masculine triangle shape to his face that is accompanied by a shortness to his hair. He likes to have it generally short all around, but sometimes longer on the top. His hair is a fair brown, whilst his eyes are subtle blue. His ears are a little pointer than what somebody would call normal, and his eyes have an unfolded shape to them, the brows only protruding a little. His eyebrows themselves are quite thin and short, subtle and lightly coloured.

His body is something he cares a lot about. He has large, broad shoulders that look as though they can carry many things at once. His arms are large as well, but the main part is his stomach and chest, because those are what he focuses on building when he does. They are very defined, and impressively built upon, and are not merely building blocks, either. He has clearly worked to look how he does. He's a runner, or at least looks like it, because he has quite defined thighs and calf muscles. He conducts himself with an unsophisticated kind of swagger. It's his way of keeping positive. He likes to make sure he's enthusiastic, and looks it; that's why he's always smiling.

Personality

As a positive person, a smile comes just as easy as an ache to the head. He makes it compulsory that he finds something positive for everything negative, that way there is balance. From there, anything else is a bonus; ultimate positive thinking. He's a humour puller. He likes to tug at people's strings and make them laugh. It's a blessing as much as it isn't, because sometimes it can obviously go hugely faulty. Although Nikolai can be quite happy, positive and even provide good vibes, he is common to anger. It's just the way of life; you can't have one without the other, and if the power of one outweighs the other, the other fights back harder. So with all that positive energy, he's just fueling disappointment at the more mundane events in life. He doesn't like that kind of boredom.

As suggested, he can sit still. He always has to be doing something. If he isn't out training, he's out with friends. If his friends are too tired, because that's what they'll end up with him around a lot, then he has to find something else to do. He also works in a cafe, but it really isn't his kind of place. He wants to work as a trainer at the gym, or something similar. This kind of overeagerness can be overwhelming to others, but he adores it in himself because it means he gets far in life - or as far as he can.

History

He was born in District Two. Two parents that loved him continuously cared for him until they started to lack the funds. Their surrounding family members, cousin and aunts / uncles etc, were mostly consisting of Peacekeepers, so help did not come from them. Slowly, they were losing the ability to maintain a good source of guardianship for their young child, and they were forced to give him up into adoption with another of their children, who was one year younger. They weren't to know that they were going to be in such a position, but thankfully their children weren't that old. Nikolai was only one and a half, and his younger brother was only six months. The shocking part is, they were split. The authorities didn't have an unlimited variety of foster parents, so Nikolai was sent to one family, and his brother to another. He wasn't old enough to know what was happening, not properly.

His foster parents never told him that he had another brother. They did mention how he was adopted, though. They didn't make a big deal of it, and so neither did he. Their influence on him is large, because he sees them as inspiring people. As he grew up though, he began to wish what his real parents were like, and whether they were nearby. He didn't manage to, and it was probably the only thing that still continues to trouble him today.

Niko got his first and current job at sixteen. He decided to get a small job since he didn't actually need much money because his parents were sufficiently rich due to their acceptance of foster child allowances, and the fact that they have a good job each. His mother is a manager at a construction service, and his father is the owner of a gym. When Niko refers to mother and father, he does means foster parents, though. He strays from calling them that due to the actuality of the situation; they are as good as any other parent.

Now, he's in the exact same position. His birthday has already passed since the reaping this year, so next year will be his last. He's currently setting himself up for that day, but other than that he has no plans. He has nothing; and he hates that.
