It hurt but it only hurt for a second. A knife went through her hand. She looked at it with her mind hazy. She looked up to see Owen not to far away from her. It was only fitting she supposed. A life for a life. At least she had met flesh with the last attack she had done. At least there was blood that wasn't her own spelt. Or at least that what she figured had happened as she collasped to the ground. The bats were still flying about but they would leave her alone now hopefully. After all wasn't she going to die right here right now. She looked up not sure what she was seeing. It wasn't like she could see anymore. The blood from one of her wounds was blinding her. When had she gotten hit in the head. It didn't matter nothing matted but getting out the last words that she would ever speak. "Leon, Siren one of you win please. June...April...I...I'm sorry...S...Sorry Soap...I'm so sor...." Her eyes closed shut and the canon sounded.
Suddenly she was floating. She looked down at her own body for a moment. A sense of warmth washed through her. She wouldn't be in any pain anymore. If that's truly what the afterlife meant. She turned from her body and watched the others flee out of the silver mines. It was odd really. Odd that the place she would die would be more of a likely spot for a tribute of district twelve. She wondered where the twelves were. After all she saw no one else from the games here. She started to slowly drift away from the mines and over the arena. She saw no others with her. She wondered where they had all gone. If they had all made peace with their reapers. She looked up towards the sky still feeling oddly warm. She wasn't sure what it was supposed to mean. Did it mean she was a peace and happy? She wasn't sure. She had shut off all emotions before she had died.
Slowly but surely her surroundings changed. She was back in district nine. She walked down the road slowly searching for her sisters. Her sister who would not have to deal without her. She prayed she wouldn't see either of them any time soon. After all that would mean they were dead and it would be bad. She did however float towards where April was and placed a kiss on her sister's head. Her way of letting her know everything was fine now. She did the same to June when she found her. She hoped the boy that she had spoken too held up his end of their bargin. After all she couldn't protect or help them now. And they would need someone who could. She entered her old home and looked around. Her room and her things were all left the way that they were before. That room would be nothing but a memory of the children that were no longer there.
She looked up from her own bed to see a familiar face on the one next to it. A smile spread across her face as she ran to him. "Bryce! Bryce are you my reaper?" "No I'm not but I've always been here you know. Always watching. You did me proud little sister." "I've missed you so much Bryce!" She hugged her brother from another mother tightly and then looked around for a moment. "Will they be okay?" Bryce shrugged his shoulders. "Come on let's get going there is someone who wants to meet you." May tilted her head to the side and couldn't think of who. They walked out of the district into a land that seemed so different and so strange. It was peaceful here and the plants there were supposed to be growing in district nine were there. It was a wonderful place. And then the smell of fresh baked cookies filled her noise.
"Hello my darling child." May let go of Bryce's hand as her eyes went wide. "Mom" The woman standing in white infront of her nodded her head. May ran to her and hugged her tightly. She was safe she was fine now. But there was still something on her mind. This place was wonderful but she needed to find someone. Someone she had known in life and had helped her ligthen up a little before the games. Her brother in arms. She looked at the two people standing in her paradise. Okay so it wasn't paradise seeing as there had been on reaper telling her to follow the light. It was just that this was her little piece of limbo. She didn't want to stay though. She wanted to find Nocturne. She needed to find him.
She let go of her mother and looked a Bryce. The smile that had been on her face fadded slightly. "I..I have to go. I have to find Nocturne. I need to find my district partner." She fadded away from the two of them as if somehow that was a cue for her to be taken from them for a little bit at least or maybe it was just a way to get to Nocturne. She didn't much care what it meant she only cared about finding him and possibly finding Jacinda and all the others that had been with her and had died.
