Sven

I get called The Good Twin, but people have unestimated me all my life. I have never understood how they could judge somebody through that kind of guess. It is simply a poor judgement of character, and therefore it is everything I need to gain an advantage over an enemy, if I would ever call somebody one of those. I have few enemies, because I don't make them. It is my twin brother, Lars, who makes those.

Appearance

He would never tell you it, but Sven is actually quite happy with his appearance. He has very defined features, both aesthetically in his muscular definition and his bone structure as well. His muscular prowess is not just visual, though. He is actually quite strong in comparison to some seventeen year olds. However, that is not an atypical thing. He and many other careers share this trait. That's what he is, a career. It makes him appear to act a little more tougher than perhaps he is. He is not only under the impression that the Hunger Games are a pathway to glory, but also a presentation of skill and ability. This makes him appear to others as perhaps arrogant, or overly confident from afar. Things such as the way he might walk, or the way he may talk or unconsciously act. However, these are unintentional. He doesn't like to appear like this, and may be seen to alter such behaviour should he get the impression he is acting in such a way.

His dress sense is common. Simple clothes worn mostly for their practicality. He is a man of action, and therefore doesn't want to be tied down by the complexity of fashion. A usual t-shirt and combat pants, or maybe even sweatpants. He really doesn't mind what he wears, or how he appears to be aesthetically. It is however an aim of his to look a bit more tough, because he knows that it would contrast his personality. He will do this by wearing slightly tighter t-shirts, making him appear as though he fills them out more. It's not a drastic action, but it is something that can perhaps add to the arrogant look that people can take from his distant appearance. This is a misconception that he brings on himself unintentionally.

Personality

Sven is an identical twin with his brother, Lars. Lars is the more dominant twin, tending to be the leader of the two. This isn't always the case with twins, but it is with these two. Sven is quieter, but not quite quiet. Lars is louder, but not quite loud. They make a good mix when they are together, and they are capable of separating and doing their own thing. They don't, though. They know that they are a team, and they know that it is their biggest advantage in life. It is slightly ironic, however, to consider that they are both male, yet the Hunger Games demands a male and a female. Of course, they know of this. They just forget about it. Sven is the one who considers it the most. He feels as though Lars would be better in the Games, and more stronger. He then considers that he is perhaps the brains in which Lars needs.

Their parents were both careers. The influence that this has had on their behaviours has been primal in their youth and even up until now as well. They have been subtly influenced to become careers all the way up until the age of twelve. They now know that they will end up volunteering, hopefully, for the Games upon their eighteenth birthday. Sven has taken more from their teachings though. Whilst his father is more inclined to have taught things like fighting and volatile actions, his mother has been there to teach more meaningful things, like wisdom and logic. This is where Sven thinks that he and Lars have alternated, and became slightly different. Sven related more to his mother during childhood, whereas Lars did not, as much.

Sven's relationship with Lars, and their closeness in both life and personality, has meant that they are very keen on staying near each other for as long as it is possible. The pair are both capable of enduring one and other in the way that best friends would. That is what they act like; best friends. They share almost everything, including a room with separate beds. They train together, talk together, and even share practically all mutual friends. They may be slightly different, but they come as a package.

History

Sven and Lars were born to happy parents, who were quite well supplied in terms of money and food. Clothed identically from their first day in Panem, Sven was given a gold ribbon around his wrist and Lars was given a black one. Sven was cared for much more by his mother, just out of chance since it was too difficult to care for both at the same time, so their parents decided to take leave from work (by paying money, of course), and look after both. It didn't affect much, but later in their childhood, it was his mother than Sven warmed to the most, but he still clung to either parent in the end.

As they reached the reaping age, they went to High School. On their first day, something changed. They were told to expect glares because they were twins, but they didn't expect to see it so suddenly, and so overtly. Somebody even pushed one of the two, and it was Sven who got that push. Lars was so angry, and nearly started a fight. All he did in the end was push the bully away, but because Lars showed that strength, even at that young age, nobody decided to do anything that overt ever again, in High School at least. They started to dress differently at that point though, because teachers were getting far too mixed up.

Sven grew up inevitably. It was in his mid teenage years that he and Lars began to become more skilled in the art of fighting. Of course, Lars appeared more dominant, and stronger, but Sven had the advantage of smartness, and logic. He fought in the training sessions with Lars with more tenacity and endurance, because he was always up against a stronger foe. This built both of them up evenly, but Sven was becoming a far better defender than Lars was. Sven has always assumed this to happen as time went on. Now, they are still awaiting that final age of eighteen. Then, they will try to volunteer. If that doesn't work; they don't know what they will do. Sven can only hope that Lars knows, but Lars hopes that Sven does.
