- Brody knew it was going to be easy. Though so far he hadn't expected it to be quite this easy.
His first match had barely lasted an entire minute; apparently nobody had bothered to tell his opponent that wrestling was considered a contact sport. As if her first name wasn't enough of a barrier to taking her seriously, the fact that she had swatted at his hands like an indignant child had made it a lost cause. The face she had made when Brody had pinned her had been priceless, like she couldn't decide whether she was more disgusted having him on top of her or the fact that she had lost.
In spite of the murderous look she had shot him when Brody had let her up, it hadn't stopped him from watching her walk away; she was tall and graceful, and looked damn good in that wrestling suit that looked like it had been painted on. Granted, the majority of his competition was much the same (well, except for that shit-talking 'Tuff' guy, the image of whose ass in the aforementioned tight spandex Brody was desperately trying to erase from his mind)... But he could give credit where credit was due.
Of course, now that the match was over and other events had to be judged before the next bracket of wrestlers could continue, it left Brody with an abundance of free time. He had been to District 4 before on deployment, and was more than a little excited to be back. The rock formations and mountain ranges of home were nice, but there was nothing quite like looking at the water swallow the entire horizon and throw off the sun's rays like diamonds on a rippling blue blanket.
With that in mind, he was sprawled out on the sand in only his training shorts catching a few rays, his white Peacekeeper track suit neatly folded up under his head and his badge tucked securely into his shoes. With any luck, there would be some nightlife to mingle with the competitors later...
