There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid;
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid;
Looking around the training center was slightly amazing. I've never seen anything like this before in my entire life. Places for painting, climbing, and fighting scattered throughout the gym. The one that caught my eye the most was the one with the painting. Perhaps it was more than just painting, but maybe I could paint a picture of home. Maybe I could paint myself many colors, but I didn't know how well that would work. But I headed over that way anyway. My eyes stayed pointed on the ground afraid to make contact with anyone. It was beyond my wildest imagination why anyone would want to ally with someone like me. I'm tiny, so tiny, but everyone else was taller. All I wanted was a chance to be myself. A chance to show the world that the games won't change someone, but that was a lie. The games change everyone, and I'm sure it would change me.
The moment I reach the station a large grin spreads across my face. Many colors of paint set on the table waiting to be used. My hand wrapped around the paintbrushes, and I felt like a toddler again; only this time nobody could stop me. Ma and Pa weren't here to yell at me for drawing on myself. I dipped the brush into one of the paints and placed the tip of the brush on my hand and started drawing a smiley face. It wasn't much, but it was there. I placed it there as a reminder. If I ever felt like there wasn't a reason to smile and carry on, all I had to do was look down at my hand, and I would see someone smiling back at me.
Maybe being here wasn't so bad after all...
