last reminder (Jill one-shot)

It's cold in the room I'm sitting, the draft coming in through the window not helping in the least as my hands tenderly touch the photo on my nightstand of Jix. It's been half a year since his death and I know that our child is due soon. Ripred I miss Jix. He was the only one able to make me feel loved and safe but he's gone now, only a memory in my mind and a reminder in my stomach that is now very round with our child. I feel a single tear escape my eye as I place the photo back on the table and lie back, looking blankly up at the ceiling.
A kick inside of me startles me and I look down, a gentle smile forming on my lips as I rest my hands on the bump wondering if they would be ready to enter this world soon.
It's a few days later when my water breaks, the baby is coming. Miss. Mary rushes into the room, alarmed when I scream and she knows right away that the baby is coming. I don't remember much of what happens next but the nextthing I know I am gasping for breath and crying as I push the baby out. Ripred it fucking hurts and i sense Ally beside me, her hands gripping mine as my child enters the world. "It's okay, Jill, he's out"He? Ally and i had never really been close but since Jixs death, she has helped me immensly with getting on with my life.
I feel something warm placed into my arms and I look down to see my son for the first time. He looks so much like Jix it makes tears of happiness spring to my eyes. I will name him Trixsen, the ix in honor of his father. "I will call him Trixsen, Trixsen Pastrani-Everwild" I say, gazing at Miss. Mary who smiles.
"Welcome to Ever lost Trixsen"Wish you were here to see this, Jix. I think.
