Wynn was normally assigned the job to set up the table, as the older children were normally out/and or busy. As he took out the stack of plates he'd need for the family to eat he started to think about how lucky his family was. Even though it was and could be really easy for them to become poor and die off- they had each other. There was enough children where they wouldn't get lonely.
He heard his mother call out to him, "Wynn! One of your older brothers is coming to visit for dinner today, be a dear and get another plate for him please!"
"Yes mother." He chirped back, as the male grabbed another plate he set out to the table. He started setting up the table as it would normally be while adding another plate at the end for his brother. It wasn't the complete luxurious life, but it was something. As he headed back out into the kitchen to get the drinks he accidentally bumped into his sister, Phoebe, he mentioned an apology to her as he got the glasses. Walking out, he placed them down on the table.
"So how are you, Phoebe?" He said with a small smile, it was always fun to catch up with other siblings. Since she was in the set of triplets with him they had somewhat of a closer bonding. He wondered what she thought about the family and all. How they're basically tied together in a certain.. Some kind of certain way. Wynn didn't know what to really think about it. In his head, he started to wander off in his own thoughts not really paying attention.
He remembered back when he was younger, probably around age ten, they'd always fight about what color plate they would get. "I want the blue plate!" Was probably the most spoken word in the house at that time. For some odd reason it seemed like the blue plate was special in the home. Everyone (at least all of the kids) had wanted it, and loved it at least once. It was kind of humorous.
Some days when friends would come over he remembered they'd be freaked out about how the family loved the plate as some kind of spiritual god. Often they'd say or ask why the boy even hung out with them. His simple reaction was that it was his family-- why else? His family was connected like a chain. More like a circle in a way. They contributed to each other and the Sawdusts' always stuck side by side.
Wynn came back to his senses as he heard the sound of glass shattering. Looking down, he noticed he had dropped one of the glasses while in his own la-la land. Blushing, he bent over to clean it up while cursing to himself for getting off topic. As he went back into the kitchen he thought he could see his sister giggling a little bit even though he didn't really mind because he found it funny too. He quickly got out another glass and set it where it should have been. His face still was burning from embarrassment when he looked up and rested his hands on the table.
"So, you don't think they heard that right?"
