District/Area: District 5
Appearance:
His gray yet seemingly green eyes are the first thing that attracts most people's attention. His stare is adequately charming and draws others into his little world through it. Cannon's eyes are usually different from those around him at his home, he gets compliments for them usually on their uniqueness- but to him they're nothing special. Just a color. HIs eyebrows highly compliment the eyes themselves and bring them out even more, perfectly aligned onto his jointed face.Personality:
If you were to compare his hair to anything- it would most likely the color of damp sand, laid aside a beige colored beach with drifting waves heading towards the direction of the grain sized rocks. It is sleek, short, and simple- yet has an exotic look to it that makes it slant to the right side. He usually keeps his hair up and allows it to continue slanting in the right direction, as it was since he was a little boy. His hairstyle hasn't changed since. The color of the hair match his eyes seemingly, despite the large color change from gray/green to light brown. In the sunlight, his hair looks mystically dirty blonde-like.
He stands at a bold height of 5'11, and shows a weight of 155 lbs. He is stocky, yet skinny remains a term as well inside him. He has a bit of muscle to him, and it is easily visible most of the time. His broad, spread out shoulders that he got from his mother's boney looking side of the family is apparent onto him. A four-pack onto his abdomen area is also noticeable- for his practice of running ever since he was four years old grew onto him into his teen years and followed him and has made a mark of dedication and hard work on his skin.
Cannon has fair, white, "perfect" skin as some would say. No scars, freckles, moles, birthmarks, or any other form of body marks are visible to his skin- or at least none that he has seen so far. His face is as clear as a newly clean set of glassware. His ideal feature is taking care of his face, to make sure it stays at least somewhat decent throughout the day- his OCD will get the best of him if he does not have him looking the way he wants to. His face must be equally symmetrical to him, and if it isn't then he has no purpose for what the day has to come.
No form of facial hair is appear able on his pure face. The only hair that would be anywhere on his head are at the top of it. His ears are average sized, and are highly good at hearing things and slight noises- but at random times they can fail him. The same with his eyesight, he cannot read from a certain distance and has trouble deciphering things from afar. He cannot afford glasses nor would wear them anyways even if he had them, he moves around too much and would end up breaking them almost every time.
Cannon's personality could be described physically like a crab- he has a tough, outer shell but has softness and sensitivity inside him. When people first meet him, he appears to be this cold, unemotional human being on the inside he has feelings that he would rather not share with the outside world. He keeps all and any of his feelings that he has for anything locked inside of him and never to be released. The only people he has been able to open up to is his mother, but only on very rare occasions even on that.History:
Cannon believes that saying things like "I'm Sorry" or "I love you" is a sign of weakness. He does not want to appear weak, yet he does not want to appear to be a brute toughie as well. He keeps to himself and that is how he likes it. If you ask anyone that would know him on the outside world about him, they wouldn't be able to say more than three sentences about him. He's too mysterious and sticks to himself so much that he has had very limited communication with any other people nearby.
A little of Cannon's very few visible characteristics is organized, responsible, resourceful, and loyal. He has a strong passion for things that he just so happens to care about, and will not back down in a fight to be shown as a weakling. He is aware of the importance of trust, and however it is very hard to gain his- he allows it when people trust him with things. He's quiet and seemingly smart enough for people to not suspect any betrayals of him.
A very large aspect that is very important to Cannon is intelligence. Cannon drains all knowledge he can possibly find. Him being homeschooled, he has lacked a lot of educational standards from other students in the district. This, in his mind, has put him in an unfair advantage and made an oath to himself that he will educate himself on anything and everything. This is where his resourcefulness comes in- he may not be all booksmarts, but he can analyze situations and come up with a solution on the spot. He is naturally a fast thinker and uses it to his advantage.
The thought and emotion of anger rarely reaches Cannon's mind, but when it does it is not the prettiest sight to see. He completely looses it and throws a physical and mental tantrum that can emotionally and physically abuse anyone that gets in his war path at this time. However, this has only happened once his entire life. But, an emotion that does frequently scatter throughout Cannon's head is sadness. His outer shell that makes him appear coldhearted and statue-like is very false. In Cannon's mind, he gets hurt easily and remembers very small things that most people would forget. If anyone said anything about him, it would stick in his mind for at least ten years. He rarely has that many social interactions with others, so he does not have a lot of these thoughts in his head currently.
Cannon strongly believes that anything can be done with a bit of hard work, and sometimes luck. He does believe in fate and thinks it can affect a person's outcome in life. He thinks the people that were born and raised in the Capitol were lucky, and that people like him were the unluckiest of them all- including the well known yet poor District 12 citizens as well. Although Cannon does suggest the idea of luck and fate, he personally himself is not a risk taker at all. He would rather have the sure, knowingly way rather than a possibility of an unknown outcome. He gets anxious when things do not go as he previously planned and will have panic attacks if they go the complete opposite.
As narcissistic and selfish sounding as it is, Cannon has a thought in the back of his mind all the time that he thinks he is smarter and more intelligent than anyone at all. All of the time he spent alone thinks that gained himself to a more open-mind and experience and see things that he would not once see if he lived a "normal" teenage life. He gained knowledge about things he would never even dream to think about in an alternate universe- and he strongly thinks that selfishness is vitally important to winning any competition.
On January 3rd, Cannon was brought into this world by his wonderful mother and the absence of his father. Ever since he was born, his father was always gone- he had left his mother when he had found out she was pregnant. He said things- oh so terrible things; "I'm not helping you raise some rutty kid!" and "If you don't get an abortion I'll beat you myself" and horrible threats thrown left and right at his mother. The mother had sent a complaint report and had him in probation by peacekeepers for god knows how long when she was six months pregnant.
Cannon when growing up as a toddler, sprouting from his embryo and baby years, had always felt a bit different from the other kids. Not completely- just in the head. It was mentally different to him. He, himself felt special- to him at least. Ever since he was about six years old, he constantly asked his mother "Where's daddy?" and "My friends have dads, wheres mine?" and his mother would make up some excuse about how he had to go for important reasons and he never got the true answer about what had happened.
Cannon was not always homeschooled, he was raised into elementary and up to middle school until he got into a terrible and ugly fight with the casual neighborhood bully at school. Cannon was suspended from the school system temporarily, but his mother thought it would be best for him to stay at home instead. After all, he didn't seem to be improving socially at school anyways. He wasn't making any friends, he wasn't enjoying himself. He hated being around so many people at once and it stressed him out greatly.
Shortly after his suspension and further homeschooling, his mother was very supportive and helpful to Cannon in the early months of the educating- but slowly, day by day his mother grew more tired, restless, and unproductive. A problem that has resurfaced that was once an embodiment of the woman was now on her again; alcoholism. At first, Cannon did not really know how serious his mother's choices in drinking were- but as he grew older, he realized he had not only lost his father, but his mother as well. Ever so slowly, the daily "recess" for his homeschooling by his mother became longer and longer until the point where homeschooling was a joke and wasn't even to be bothered with. He had the whole time to himself.
In the beginning of his teenage years, Cannon would often get away from the house and venture off further into the district to explore for himself. He would avoid as much social interaction and contact with people as he could, and often went along hidden wilderness-like shortcuts to get to places. His mother, only feeding herself with alcohol and small parchments of bread back home, had completely forgot her son even existed. This resulted in Cannon having to defend for himself.
One of the main places Cannon would venture off to alone was an abandoned power plant that was not too far away from the district market. He would climb on top of the silos with the rusty steel metal ladders and sit atop of the towers and think about life and how it was created. He has had many philosophical thoughts, mainly when he was alone. The abandoned power plant also had broken down batteries that he would steal and examine back at home.
Cannon would mainly survive by trading and selling things he found from the abandoned area at the district market. No one questioned where he would get the unusual items, and they would be more than happy to offer rations of food to a practically homeless boy (not exactly homeless, but the jist is evident). People slowly learned more about Cannon throughout rumors spread around the district, and found out how his mother turned into an alcoholic and he is left alone practically- fending off any dangers of life that come to him. Not even his apparently nonexistent dad can do anything.
When Cannon turned sixteen, he had contemplated the thought of suicide once- and thought it would be better for everyone. He has no one, not his mom, dad, friends, extra family members- no one. He was completely alone. But after a while, he thought about it, he realized that he didn't need anyone. He was perfectly fine alone. He could live like this for the rest of his life. Despite his ignorance towards the absence of an educational system (school), he strictly planned ahead to get a job at a local power plant and make a living there. He promised to himself that he would avoid all negative thoughts and hide it under his shell and try to live a productive life, enough to feed himself and thats all he needed.
