Julianna Rose
Back and forth, back and forth. Julianna Rose was pacing in her bedroom. She was supposed to be headed to the training center today. Though, she didn't really see too much of a point in it anymore. She had almost no chance of ever being picked to go into the games. She also wasn't very likely to be quick enough to volunteer. This year was another year of training wasted. That's what she thought, anyways. Since she had never been picked for the games, she was now under the assumption that she never would be. Soon, she'd be turning eighteen. When she turned eighteen, there wouldn't be much left for her to do. She took up almost all of her free time training. Back and forth, back and forth. Julianna continued to pace in her room. She wasn't sure what to do with herself at this point. Should she even bother spending another year training? In all honesty, to her, it didn't seem worth it any more. She had trained for so long, but it had done absolutely nothing for her. Julianna stopped pacing. She thought about what some of her old friends would have said to her. Come on, Nippy, are you kidding me? You still have a chance! Why give up on training? I'd let you volunteer for me if I got picked, anyways! You know I wouldn't do that for anyone else. You've just trained so much! You should keep going, so that if you do go in by some chance, you still might have the opportunity to win! She didn't know why her old friends' voices were rushing through her mind. She didn't talk to any of them any more. Perhaps she should just try to find some new people to hang out with. Recently, Julianna came across a girl named Sana Fleur. She seemed nice, but not generally the kind of person she was to hang around with. Julianna was a nice person, too, but Sana wasn't the same kind of nice as Julianna. Julianna was very different from a lot of people. Deciding to head outside, she was going to head to the park. She needed to think. Often, going outside or for a walk was the only way she could even remotely come close to thinking clearly. After she slipped on her shoes, she headed outside. As she got closer to the park, a cool breeze came through. She realized she had forgotten her coat, but didn't go back to get it. When she reached the park, Julianna sat down in the grass. There were some young kids playing, but there didn't seem to be anyone her age. Then again, that was probably because just about anyone her age would be training right now, if that was something that they did. Also, if that wasn't something that they generally did, Julianna likely didn't know them. Glancing around at everyone, she thought she saw something glistening in the bushes. Unsure of what it was, she stood up and headed over to it. When she approached it, she saw it was a knife. Bending down, she picked it up. As she was looking at it, she held it firmly. Then, she heard someone coming up behind her. | |||
