"Have you ever heard of mouthwash?" My face screws up, my nose crinkling as I direct my words laced with venom at the girl with long blonde hair. Her face turns a shade of deep dark red, her eyes flashing with what I know all to well: anger. "Its the stuff you buy at the shops, most people use it before leaving the house in the mornings, I would buy you some, but that would mean effort, effort wasted on a pathetic girl like you." With that I turn on my heels and walk from the room, my head help high, a smirk slipping onto my lips.

Silence follows me as the doors slam shuts between us, my words were probaly echoing through her head right now. She probably wanted to scream and shout and let it all out but then she would smell her breath and see that I was right. After that she will no longer be angry but self-conscious- a pattern that I was all to farmiliar with. The thoughts falters my smirk for a moment, my mother stern face jumping across my vision, her eyes laced with hatred, her lips parted in disgust. 

Suddenly my hands are balled into tight fists and I stop walking, pacing a hand against the wall before punching it hard with my other hand. Pain erupted through my fingers, climbing my hands like ice until the whole limb is throbbing in pain. A moan escaped my lips and small tears start to well. I pull away from the wall, cradling  my hand as I left the building, forcing the tears to stop. I would not cry for her. not for that bitch. She did not deserve my tears.

Ignoring the pain in my hand, I flick my long hair over my shoulder, my face painted with a smile as I walk away from the building and into the streets of district two. I didn't know where I was going, all I knew was that I was going to go far away from home, away from being Olivia Harper. Oli. Thats who I was, and thats who I wanted to be. I only look over my shoulder once, the huge Harper mansion nothing but a shadow in the distance as I walked- no ran- away into the slowly darkening streets of home. I was going to be late again, but today I did not care.

Alfan Cryer

Waving the book in the air, it was becoming pretty boring for Alfan. "Seriously kid, you're like a foot taller than me." Alfan exaggerated, as he did the ancient trick of 'Want it, can't have it' Today's victim was a fourteen year old boy, who was at least 3 inches taller than Alfan. Alf had labeled him as a nerd, he shouldn't be reading books in this day in age "If you did something more appropriate , like career training, you wouldn't be in this predicament" Looking to the title of the book, Alf would laugh, as the boy tried to fight it off him. Placing his hand on the shoulder of the kid to restrict him from getting anywhere near the book, Alf was put little to no effort in it at all. " Dragon's aren't going to help you if you get reaped, you know." The boy eventually gave up on trying to get the book and walked away, Alf wasn't finished yet. Following the boy, he'd jump in front of him, waving the book in his face. "Lesson for you, don't give up so easily, you can't walk away from a fight in the games." Clenching his fists, the boy tried to throw a punch at Alf, before he could extend his arms, Alf would grab his fist. "Like I said, you need some training." Usually in his acts of terror, Alf would have his friend's egging him on but today he was a lone. They had girlfriends to attend to, family matters, boring. Trying again to attack Alf, the boy would try and round house kick the book out of his hands. Stepping backwards, Alf would burst out laughing. Looking around, Alf would notice an audience was forming, a few district citizens wandering down the street. Alf had stumbled upon his victim, while returning from training, he was easy bait;sat on the curb reading. How could someone possibly focus on reading, while at reaping age? Alf couldn't get it into his head, how could knowledge from a book help you in the games? Attempting a last time to regain his book, the boy would try a sort of tackle, ramming his head at Alf's stomach. Amused by the kid's effort, a swipe with the leg on the back of the boy's knees, would send him flat on the ground. A few passerby's giggling, as the boy sat defeated on the pavement. Crouching down beside the boy, Alf would throw the book on his lap. "At least you tried, have it back anyway. Think about what I said and you won't end up humiliated, on your ass." Dusting away the dirt from his trousers, Alf would extend his arm out to the kid to help him up. Clasping together their hands, before the boy got half way up, Alf would let go. Falling back on the pavement again, the boy would let out a whale of a noise. "Never trust someone who just swiped you onto your ass." Pulling himself together, Alf would leave the kid on the ground. Deciding to return home, he'd notice a few eyes on him;career's returning from training, a few adults and the one that caught his eye a girl running up the street. Stepping in the in front of the girl, he'd raise his hands, trying to disrupt whatever she running from/to. "Woah girl!" He'd say, as if speaking to a horse.

The sound of my footsteps a mingled with the sounds of the busy streets so much that I can barely hear them. I barely look around me, my whole being focused on escaping Olivia and becoming Oli. Oli the girl who didn't give two shits, the girl who could be anyone she wanted whenever she wanted.And as I ran, I could practically feel myself change and I smile wide. My legs burn, my heart pounds and beads of sweat form on my forehead but none of it makes me uncomfortable, to be honest all of it was exhilarating. 

Suddenly there is someone in my path and I am forced to stop. "Whoa girl," his words make my face screw up, my eyes flash. He was talking to me as though I was some wild animal, his arms raised preventing me from being able to move around him easily.

"Um can I help you with something?" I ask the question but I don't wait for a reply, my lips moving before I can stop them. "You know, its kinda rude just to walk in peoples paths, when obviously they don't want to be disturbed- did it look like I was just taking a leisurely stroll? did I look like I wanted your big nose stuck into my business? Cause-" I laugh a little- "I sure as hell do not." My laughter is gone, my voice laced with annoyance. 

"Now if you don't mind, I am going to leave."

I turn to leave but then stop, my eyes traveling behind the guy to the boy on the ground. He looks a little beaten up, a book lay thrown net to him. I flick my gaze to the guy who had stopped me then back at the boy on the ground who had slowly begun to sort himself out, his fingers curling around the books cover, dusting off the dirt. 

A smirk slips onto my lips, my eyes catching the boy in front of me. "Let me finish what you started and show you how a real bully works." I push past him, my shoulder bumping with his as I flick my hair over my shoulder and wander over to the guy with the book. I smile at him kindly, "Did that mean guy do this to you? How horrible- what you reading, can I see it?" I ask, faking my excitement.

The boy looks a little flustered, but after a moment he hand me the book and my smile drops, my previous smirk slipping back into place. Without even saying a word I rip the cover from the book and toss it to the side before tearing at the pages and allowing the scraps to fly away in the wind. "Opps," I say mocking innocence, before turning away, my eyes meeting Mr. Interrupter.

Alfan Cryer

Still having his hands raised in the air, he'd drop them when the girl stopped. Looking at her, Alf could tell she was pretty frustrated, mission accomplished. "Um can I help you with something?" Before he could spit out his words, the girl would speak. Well this is a fiery girl, he thought. Standing in the middle of the street, he'd be lost, he didn't have a chance to fight his case before the girl said she was going to leave. Watching the sudden turn of events, Alf would watch the girl as she approached the boy on the ground. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he'd move closer to the pavement where the boy sat."Let me finish what you started and show you how a real bully works." What more could she surely do, he was already humiliated on the ground, kicking a guy in the face when he is down is wrong. Maybe she was lying, maybe she is a good doer, going to help him; apologies to him. Crossing his hands, he'd look down at the two. The boy was red in frustration, looking away as Alf had his eye on him. A few adults walked by, turning their heads, as if bullying was a regular occurrence in the district. Alfan was purely teaching the boy a lesson,he didn't intentionally want to scar the boy for life. Smirking as the girl tore up his book, Alf felt a bit stunned, the girl was a fierce one for sure. Standing in front of the boy pretending to feel sorry for him, he'd kick a bit of loose gravel into his face. "Do you not learn anything? I said not to trust anyone." Questioning the boy, he'd turn his attention to the fierce girl. "That was a bit uncalled for, I had it handled, I was teaching him a lesson." Looking back down at the boy, he'd shake his head. "But he obviously failed that lesson." Grinning at the girl, he'd scan her appearance, a beautiful fierce one.

The boy looks past me, his eyes eating the boy alive. Words slip past his lips like venom, his foot kicking up the loose pice of shit into the nerds face. My smile broadens, maybe he did know what he was doing. Turning back to me, "that was a bit uncalled for, I had it handled, I was teaching him a lesson." Instantly my eyes roll into the back of my head and the respect that had slowly begins to form crumbled like the pastry to a delicious tart. 

He shakes his head before allowing a wild grin to paint his lips, "But he obviously failed that lesson." I watch his eyes scan my body, taking me in and I tilt my head to the side slightly, my lips still peeled back in a small grin. 

"That he did." I say flicking my eyes back to the guy on the ground. I felt nothing for him. I didn't feel sorry for him, I didn't feel guilty or regret what I had done, instead I felt a weird satisfaction. I felt powerful and I loved the feeling, I loved the way it made me feel like I was on top of the world. "Oh and I am Oli, by the way," Thats right. Right now I was Oli. Just Oli. I was a bitch and I liked it that way. "Just Oli, Oli and nothing else." I confirm, more for myself than for anyone else. "Uh, what about you? Do you have a name? Or do you just prefer not to put a name to the face?"

Remaining to stand over the top of the boy on the ground, Alf would forget he was there, he was more intrigued about the girl. A girl similar to him, she seemed wicked, manipulative, less boring than most girls he encountered before.  Most girls were soft, even the ones who did training, they were all too soft. None of them wanted to mess around and have fun, they just wanted to look pretty and bitch about each other. "That he did." Glaring down at the boy on the ground, he was wiping away the dirt Alf just flicked into his face, most of it embedded into his eyes. Serves him right, he should've seen it coming. Anyone reading a book on the pavement in District two, really had it coming for them, especially through Alf's eyes. "Oh and I am Oli, by the way," Ooh so we're doing the name sharing thing now, Alfan thought, so she must want to be my friend. "Uh, what about you? Do you have a name? Or do you just prefer not to put a name to the face?" Of course he has a name, he isn't some street rat. "Yes I have a name, it's Alf." He would usually do the whole, my name is Alfan but they call me Alf for short. He had said it thousands of times and everyone called him Alf either way, so never tends to explain it now. Slowly the boy on the ground would stand up, brushing the dirt from his trousers. Before he could scamper away, Alf would extend out his leg. Predictably tripping over Alf's obstacle, the boy would face plant the pavement,moaning as he hit the ground. Not bothering to look at what he just caused, Alf would shake his head, still having his attention on Oli."There are some idiots here."
