All the Glitters Are Not Gold
It was another day in District 1 for Magnus. He was using Window Cleaner upon the glass display case to wipe off the finger prints that were smearing the glass. He sighed slightly and grunted.
"Darn kids and their smudgy fingers," He cursed as he kept rubbing. He hears the door open, and saw a costumer walk in. It was a woman wearing an aquamarine dress that flowed like realistic water. The dress designs baffled the young man these days. He knew that the dressing industry was pretty high up there today. But then again this woman was one of their best customers. She always ordered the best of products and commissioned the finest and expensive pieces of jewelry.
The young man knew the procedure like he knew his multiplication table. He smiled wide, and began to speak.
"Hello Madam Azure," He said. "What can I do for you on this fine afternoon?"
"It would be fine if it wasn't raining," Complained the woman unfolding her umbrella shaking the water off of it. "I wore the wrong dress for today,'
"I'm sorry to hear that madam," He said pretending to sulk slightly as if he really cared.
"Anyway, despite the rain I need a ring for the big party in the next few days, my husband drew up a unique design for you to try out," She said handing him a beautiful painting of a large sapphire ring that had been carved into the shape of a star.
"That is a beauty," Magnus said smiling, as he looked at the drawing.
"How much would this be good lad?" She inquired.
"Oh this will take at least a day and half tops," He said. "And the sapphires are in stock so I'd have to guestimate about at least $10,000," He said.
"That sounds fair enough," Said the woman taking out a check and signed it with the total and handed it to him.
"Thank you madam, I'll be sure to have this done as soon as possible," He said taking the design into the back as he heard the cluster of bells jingle, signifying that she left.
