Name: Cooper Jettson
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Male
District/Area: District Six
Appearance:
Being 5'11", Cooper is an average height, though they do think he will continue to grow at least a few more inches before he's done. He weighs in at 160 Ibs. and due to his almost constant activities, he has a muscular build which is borderline athletic, even if he doesn't engage in any specific sports. Coopers likes to keep his dark blonde hair short and, despite his mother's disapproving, very unkempt and messy. His eyes are easy to get lost in, a light greyish blue color, which can at time be a more vibrant blue than gray. If there's one thing he gets the most compliments on, it's his eyes. Living in a district that sees more pollution than any other, the sun barely shines, so his skin is a paler shade of tan.
Due to Cooper's build, his strengths are more physical than anything. Cooper grew up constantly rough housing with people. Whether it be with his older siblings or friends, he was always the youngest and so he quickly picked up the necessary skills to defend himself in the situation of hand to hand combat. Along with defending himself during spontaneous fighting moments, he also very quickly picked up how to fight using his body. He is fast with his hands and has very strong legs with allow him to combat high attacks. Most of Cooper’s skills come his experiences as a child. He and his friends often pretended to be in the hunger games, before realizing what it really was, and used various sticks and objects to reenact fights. His go to weapon was always a 'sword' and so pieces of metal, sticks, and any large or straight object was enough to symbolize that. Though he has never held a real sword before, he has the motions down to where he wouldn't do a bad job if he was given one.
However, every man comes his flaws and Cooper is no exception to that. Having walked into many harmful situations before, Cooper has had many trips to health centers through out his life. Whether it be due to busting his head on the corner of the table after slipping from the top of a chair or having to have a broken bone set and casted, he is no stranger to pain or injuries. These injuries have taken a toll on his body though. As he continues to mature and grow older, he finds pains in his body, often where past injuries have been. This is due to developing post-traumatic arthritis in his joints. But Cooper does his best to shake off the pain and continue on with his daily activities to the best of his ability.
Personality:
Cooper has a lot of experience with people of all ages due to the family he grew up in. It is easy for him to hold a conversation with almost any person of any age, even if it is forced a forced one. Around kids his age, he's simply a normal kid. He loves to mess around and have fun most of the time. He's the kind of kid who will do just about anything to make sure that the people he is around feel comfortable. He is often reffered to as the 'protective' friend. Though he cannot argue with this one, he can easily come up with five reasons why - his siblings. Having grown up constantly having to play the father role while his father was at work, Cooper became very protective over his siblings and that tends to carry over with him while he is with his friends.
Around adults, he is nothing but respectful. That's how his mother raised him and that's how he will always be. Always using sir or ma’am when speaking to them, never forgetting to say please or thank you. Manners come first and that's a rule he lives by.
History:
The Jettson family is one that is constantly growing. Whether it be due to the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Jettson are bring another beautiful baby into the world, one of the children are getting married, or a grandchild is being introduced to the family, there always seems to be another body popping up to claim a part in the Jettson family tree. Cooper was the third child born to the Jettsons. He was a pleasant surprise after two baby girls. About four years after his birth, another child was brought into the family, and then another four years after that one. Just when the family thought they wouldn't be able to handle any more children running around the house, the youngest of the family was born just three years later. With that, the Jettson family was complete.
The home Cooper grew up in was slightly larger than most houses in the district. This was only due to the size of large their family. Other than the size, the Jettson house was nothing special. It consisted of five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room, all split between two floors. Each room was furnished with the minimum amount of things necessary for them to survive. The bedrooms didn’t have much more than a bed and dresser. The kitchen had few counters, a fridge, and oven. The table they ate at was shoved in the corner of the kitchen. And the living room consisted of an old couch, chair, and pillows that scattered the floor. It wasn’t much, but the family had managed to make the most of it.
Being one of the oldest children in the family, Cooper often found himself helping to take care of his younger siblings. While his mother was out running errands, he would feed or play his younger sister , and only if necessary, change her diaper. Though it wasn't easy, he had a sense of joy in it. Cooper's a huge family guy, so any chance he gets to help and make sure that everyone is happy, he does it.
Having been home schooled by his mother, most of Cooper’s childhood memories take place in the house. Their days were spent learning about various things, from math to spelling. As the children worked, they'd talk and help each other as much as possible, even if they weren't much help at times. Once finished with their work, the real fun began. The children would spend their free time running around the house playing various games. One moment the game would be hide-and-seek and the next everyone would be in a boxing match. There was never a dull moment in the Jettson house.
There was nothing the Jettson kids had to complain about. Not until Cooper turned thirteen at least. One day, while the children were all getting dinner ready, there was a knock at the front door. Mrs. Jettson answered it, expecting for Mr. Jettson to be home from work. But the person standing there was far from Mr. Jettson. He explained that he was from the mechanical shop Mr. Jettson worked at and that there had been an accident. One moment everything was fine and the next the whole building was on fire. Their father had quickly reacted, making sure that everyone evacuated the building safely. He wouldn't quit until he was sure that everyone was safe, even if that meant losing his own life to ensure that. And that's exactly what happened. No one is exactly sure what had happened, but they do know that Mr. Jettson lost his life at the expense of saving many others. He was a hero in their eyes.
And so with the news, the family knew that there was nothing more they could do; they had to continue on with their lives. The children who were old enough went out and found jobs, this included Cooper and his two older sisters. Cooper was now a porter and he absolutely hated the job. He had to put in long hours cleaning the windows and walls of various buildings around the district. As many times as quitting crossed his mind, Cooper continued to remind himself that his family needed the money he was making. If he quit, there was a chance that they would go completely poor and he wouldn't let that happen, not if he could help it. So he sucked it up, pulled on his uniform every morning, and started his hike to work. At the end of the day, he collected his pay and took the same trip back to his home where his mother always greeted him with a cool glass of water and his siblings with hugs. And this is what his life is and will probably be for the rest of his life.
