Name:
Liam Summit
Age:
17
Gender:
Male
District/Area:
District 7
Appearance:
(His name is Shawn Mendes).
Liam Summit is one of the older cousins in the Summit family. He has several younger siblings, varying in different ages, as well as a bunch of cousins. He's quite tall, maybe about 6 feet in height, with a fairly large build, as well as brown eyes that "melt into your soul." He has brown hair, and fairly tan skin from spending most of his time outside. Liam could lift 100 pounds easily and enjoys wearing tank tops and sweat pants. However, being from the affluent family that he's from, he normally has to wear dress pants, a suit and tie, as well as dress shoes. All in all, his brute strength, as well as climbing skills is probably the most noteworthy thing about him.
Sadly, just like everyone else in the world, he has his insecurities as well. Most people want to be as tall as he is. However, he doesn't enjoy it as much as everyone else in the world does. He's the one that has to grab stuff from the top of the cupboards, he's the one that has to grab random toys that little kids throw up into the highest of branches, and he’s the one that smacks his head against the branches of low-hanging trees. When most people want to grow a few inches upwards, he wants to shrink a couple down. It's not like being tall doesn't have benefits that he enjoys, he just doesn't like the downfalls that come with it.
Personality:
Trustworthy/Trusting
Liam is a very trusting person. He always has been, ever since he was little. There are both benefits and downfalls of being a trusting person. The fact that he is a trusting person has made him good friends that trust him with their problems as well as their deepest darkest secrets. However, the downfalls are that he doesn't question authoritative figures as much as he should, also fact that he is so trusting leads to him having been hurt in the past and taken advantage of. He's trying to learn from the mistakes that he has made in his life. He isn't perfect, but no one in the world is.
Athletic
How do people stereotype people from District 7? Do they think that everyone is weak and are tree huggers? Those people would be wrong. A big chunk of District 7 knows how to use axes, as they learned when they were little. Liam is no exception to that stereotype. However, ironically, he hates stereotypes. He doesn't like people assuming and putting labels on people they barely know. Liam is well built and quite strong. He's had to work from fairly early in the morning till late at night cutting down trees, and lugging them for the industries in the district that eventually have them shipped to the Capitol (only when school was out). The fact that he has had to do this since he was young has built him up nicely. He would describe himself as physically strong, fit, and active.
Respectable
The Summit family has been the wealthy family in District 7 for the longest time, or so at least, that's what his parents tell him. It is reflected in the huge mansion that he lives in, along with his many cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members. His family has taught him good manners and how to be a role model towards the District in being good, proper, and correct. The people of the District respect his mysterious family; therefore they respect and accept him. He has to take care in the way he dresses, his health, his diet, his manners, his style, his ego. The many requirements of being the perfect kid were quite annoying. It's just a thing he has to live with now.
History:
Liam has lived in the Summit mansion for as long as he can remember. According to his parents, they moved there when he was quite little, before any of his younger siblings were born. His first friends were his cousins. He was really close with them when all of them were little kids, but now, they've grown a little further apart. He still talks with them frequently, but the conversations that they have with each other are less "deep" than they used to have been. In school they're a part of the same clique... To sum it up in simpler terms, his relationship with nearly everyone in his family is one huge oxymoron. Aren't all families confusing though?
Last year was a pretty tough year for Liam... The 70th Hunger Games killed him internally... He wasn't sure how to prioritize his life. Organization has always been important to him, and when his cousin Stella Summit got reaped, later getting killed, he didn't really know how to cope. School started to get tougher and the occasional nightmare began to haunt him. Luckily, he had his friend Sapphire DeCaria to lean on after Stella passed. He knew that she was quite close with Stella before, and having that strong base of a common admiration of a person led them to being close friends. Sapphire knows most of Liam's flaws and she won't hesitate to tell him when he's being an idiot, or when he's crushing on someone when they won't like him back.
This year has been going quite well so far. Liam's life is going back up again. His parents have always told him a saying, with that saying being “regression towards the mean.” They explained to him that in his life they'll be many ups but there will always be low points. Life will always be trying to push him towards the middle ground. When he hits a point in his life, the regression to the mean will move him back up towards the middle. The fact that no one close to him got reaped for the 71st Hunger Games is a good sign in the regression to the mean. The fact that a District 7 tribute was the first to die was quite sad, but however insensitive and means this may sound... At least it wasn't anyone close to him... Liam does not want to mourn another cousin’s death or maybe even sibling for the second consecutive year. That would not be good for his mental health at all.
