Appearance:

Kieran is rather short. Rather than lithe and lean, he's stocky and broad from lifting wheelbarrows and pushing them. He's also rather sinewy and agile, not to mention quite swift. He also has several scars from being attacked by animals when he was younger. One scar runs from the center of his forehead at a steep, sharp angle down to the corner of his mouth. A few other scars are shaped like crescent moons from when his owl companion has landed on him. They're not too deep, but since he forgot to wear a shoulder guard, there are scars.

Kieran has long hair- for a guy that is- that barely reaches his shoulders. He usually ties it back into a low ponytail to keep it away from his face. It's a deep, fiery red that is quite noticeable, but Kieran isn't very.. noticeable really because he has earthy brown eyes. His skin is also olive-toned, but there are a few tan lines that show pale skin. You couldn't say he's attractive because of his low cheekbones and facial scar, but he's not exactly.. ugly either.

He is usually found wearing a white, thin long sleeve shoved up to the elbows and a brown, thin vest. He also wears baggy, kind of patchy dark brown trousers down to the middle of his calves. His shoes are a soft leather molded to his feet, and they form soft boots half way up his calves. His usual clothes make him appear rather ragged and scruffy in general, so he's generally dirty. Despite his unassuming appearance, and rather broad one at that, most would think he's slow, but he's actually fairly swift.

Personality:

Kieran is rather reserved, not very talkative, but he's quite pleasant when he wants to be. Note that it's when he wants to be. Otherwise he can be a little grouchy and snappish. Despite his grouchiness and the way he seems unapproachable, Kieran is a big softie for small children and animals. He gets along with children fairly well, and when he's up to it, he can be found playing with them.

With the 'unapproachable' thing, Kieran finds it rather awkward to associate himself with people in general because he prefers to garden and work. He's also generally a very hard worker, as he finds comfort and solace in the fact that he's helping the food grow for other districts. Even though Kieran seems generally unapproachable, he's not. He can be very helpful, and he holds a great deal of compassion and respect towards the older people.

Kieran is a great lover of nature and art. He is always up at the crack of dawn, watching the sunrise. He is also there when the sun sets. He's generally pretty peaceful, even though he always seems grumpy. He's not very talkative, and with his quietness, he can seem quite stuck up or arrogant sometimes.

Kieran is quite fond of apples and potatoes, and is almost always found with an apple in hand. He's also not very trusting because he's never been really close to anyone, not after his mother was killed by Peacekeapers and his father disappearing on them just a little while after his sister was born. Kieran is willing to help anyone though, but if he thinks a person is doing it for bad intentions, he will more likely than not be irritated. His wrath won't be truly earned until someone speaks ill of or harms his younger sister Rebecca. As the saying goes, "Hell hath no fury like a red-head scorned."

History:

Kieran Bartholomew Mikaelson was born October 23rd, under a new moon. With a tuft of dark red hair and a pair of earthy eyes, his parents adored him from birth. Growing up, Kieran was neither spoiled nor neglected. James and Faith Mikaelson didn't want him to grow up with a big head. In fact, though they loved their son very much, they taught Kieran to respect and love everything around him. They taught him how not to be noticed until it was the right time.

The right time it was when his little sister Rebecca was born near midnight on March 21st. Born with a tuft of dark brown hair and eyes of the greenest leaf Kieran had ever seen, the young eight year old adored his little sister. He took care of her, bathed her, and treated her like she was the moon in his hands. When her first word, "Kiwan!" had rang out from her sweet little mouth, Kieran had been so proud. It was when Rebecca 'Becky' was ten that Peacekeepers caught their mother trying to sneak food from the district that Kieran saw his first death.

His own mother's death at the hands of Peacekeepers. At eighteen, and nearly nineteen years of age, Kieran had already knew death because he had seen a few deaths in the safe walls of their district to make sure his family didn't do anything worse. With a deep distrust of Peacekeepers thereafter onwards, Kieran always kept an eye on them. Not to mention his father had disappeared shortly after Faith's execution.

The way he harvested food was neither by killing or stealing. He raised a small vegetable and fruit garden in their one-story house in their basement to keep the Peacekeepers from thinking he was stealing food from them. When he started to take tesserae for his family, he always made sure that he and Rebecca had enough food. In fact, Kieran never let Rebecca take tesserae because he knew Rebecca was kind of scared of the Peacekeepers. When he was nineteen, and Rebecca twelve, he had seen a few buzzards circling what looked like a dead owl a little ways outside of the district. He had gotten a severe warning for going out of bounds, as he had not committed any 'crimes' in their eyes yet. 

This warning was because he had rescued a young Barn owl from severe injuries. As he picked the young owlet up, he had been attacked by the mother and received his facial scar from trying to save the owlet. Thus, he nursed the baby owl back to health, and she gained her place as Kieran's young owl companion named Topaz because of her eyes that look like 'liquid gold'.

This is really good but I'm little confused about this part of his history

He had always been careful with his kills in the district and the way he harvested food. The Peacekeepers were always watching him when he fed his family, and even though he knew they were disapproving of his actions, they had never apprehended him except for one warning when he had accidentally wandered outside of their border at twenty-one.

Is he stealing food for his family? What is he killing? They're agriculture based in District Eleven so there's not an abundance of animals around for him to kill/steal. Also, if the Peacekeepers saw him stealing they would arrest him.

Elaborate on this more and once you're done post in this thread again and staff will take another look.
