(credit (c) Frankel) Maybe it was the coke, maybe it was the pure ecstasy (and no not the drug) I felt coursing through my veins, but for whatever reason I really was not nervous about the Hunger Games at that point in time. There would be plenty of time to be nervous, but I'd spent enough time following the rules and not letting myself out of my mother's cage. I was going to change that. It wasn't long before I had flapped my chickeny-self all the way to the edge of some terrifying cliffs. I peaked over, and saw the sea below - something I had never seen before. Out a little further from the beach was what looked like a house? That would be a fun place to celebrate my birthday. What if there was a CAKE in the house? Oh my god I would cry if there was a cake. I turned around, and only saw Tyler behind me. Probably worried about my mental health since I had been traipsing through the Arena with bent arms flapping and the occasional cluck coming out. I really was thankful for the boy. Not only had he taken my virginity on the roof of the training center, but he also was super attractive. And that was definitely something I, Heather Olivia Tenley, was thankful for. Then, while smiling at the boy and clucking to my heart's content, I saw something flying above his head. Something that probably didn't cluck but was close enough to a chicken that it just might want to follow me around and join my birdy flock. Out of nowhere it let out a huge, earsplitting HONK and I jumped back, nearly tumbling backwards off the sea cliff's edge. But I caught myself, and turned my attention toward the bird before me. I was going to catch it. I was going to catch it and love it and no one could stop me. Hopefully Tyler would help, too. That would be cool. What was more couple-y than catching honking birds together?

Under normal circumstances, Tyler would have treated the situation with caution, confusion, and two burly Peacekeepers brandishing straitjackets.

However, the last two weeks had greatly altered his perspective on the meaning of "strange". For example, in the span of said two weeks, he had allied with a group of people he had literally gotten stuck with on an elevator, stripped in front of a pair of Gamemakers, and had lost his virginity to one of the girls on the elevator. Still, despite her quirks, Heather was a beautiful human being all around, and definitely worthy of stealing Tyler's v-card.

Of course, the chances of it mattering at all by this time next week were still slim to none.

For now, the blond boy was just glad to be alive.

Memories from the bloodbath just a few short hours earlier still flashed through his mind. How he had lashed out at a girl, his halberd leaving a long red line across her stomach. How he had been surrounded by three unarmed tributes. How two of them had struck at him with minimal effect, but the strike from his freaking district partner had broken his left wrist, sending a level of pain Tyler had never felt before coursing throughout his body. How, through the haze of pain, another random tribute had pierced Heather's district partner's skull with his own halberd, causing the single death that took place in the so-called bloodbath.

The next few hours had been a blur. He vaguely remembered Heather and Rowdy setting his wrist in a sort of makeshift cast, utilizing Capitol medicine to such an effect that Tyler could use the wrist to nearly full capabilities at the present hour. If there was one good thing that came from the Capitol, it was the technology.

A thundering HONK sounded directly above his head, and instinctively the blond boy swung his halberd towards the source of the noise, missing completely.

Heart hammering from the sudden auditory barrage, Tyler took a closer look at his assailant, which turned out to be some small flying object. What was the word?

Tyler glanced at Heather, who seemed to be eyeing the fluttering object closely. A half-buried memory from the previous Games emerges. A dark haired girl, surrounded by a few of the same fluttering creatures.

Hm. Tyler said aloud. I guess the bird really is the word. Or is it word really is a bird?

He watches as Heather swipes out and successfully nabs the word. But more have arrived, and Tyler suddenly has an urge to join the fun.

After all, trying to catch birds for fun is much more fun than committing murder most fowl.

I have no clue where Daria ran off to, and all I can think is that she’s running off to get herself killed. That is truly one thing that would definitely make this dream turn into a nightmare. I hope that I packed a light satchel because I don’t want to be running and run out of breath because of how heavy all this stuff is. From what I saw, all the blurry images that were running away had little to no items in their hands besides a weapon, some of them, like the girl fighting Daria, are weaponless. I can only hope that people don’t want to get revenge on us for being the well-prepared tributes this games.

Heather and Tyler, two blondes that are quite adorable together, are closeby. Daria’s a very gentle looking person, which worries me even more. People will see her as easy prey, and that will probably become her downfall. Just breathe, Benstaloe. She’s fine. Just in and out, Rowdy. You’ll find her. You’ll find her alive. I just have to be an optimist. That’s part of karma, and if there’s one thing I learned from the dream master, it’s that he loves karma. If I act hopeful, than things that will give me hope will come forward.

I continue to push forward. No matter how much I want to find Daria, I have to remember that she’s not real. She’s just a storybook character who is trying to teach me a lesson. That lesson is to care about people. The armor on my arm, hands, and chest is heavy, and I’m not positive that wearing in all day and night is going to help keep my strength up. It practically brings pain as it weighs me down closer to the ground. I’ve see other people use it, and it helps people not to get hurt as much. I have to do what’s best for survival, so I keep it on.

Who knew that living in a dream was so much work?

I continue to pace myself as I walk, rounding out the pack of three. My ears are wide open as are my eyes. It’s an odd feeling. Y’know that feeling where someone’s watching you? That has been how I’ve felt since the beginning, and it’s more than uncomfortable. It is an invasion of privacy that I have no control of. I can’t beat out every camera and tribute.

I keep my head up, straight ahead. Normally, the back of the pack is most likely to get hurt, but I still want to keep an eye out for Heather, Tyler, and, Daria? Daria. Her hairstyle is unlike any other tribute in this games, which makes her easy to recognize her. I’m grateful, but don’t want to yell at her for losing me.

[googlefont="Satisfy:400"] Heather Tenley The wind in my eyes, I debated how much money it would take to collect the wind and sell it, and then I thought about the profit I would collect. (opening (c) puppy) Wind would probably sell for a pretty penny, especially for days where the sun is cruel and unrelenting and the breeze doesn't kiss one's cheeks. Who wouldn't purchase a jar of wind then? I would, for sure. I'd gladly let the zephyr burst across my face in a similar to fashion to how Cody -- never mind. What was important here wasn't bottling the wind. In fact, I had only thought about the wind after landing with the tiny honking bird in my arms, its wings flapping wildly and sending gusts into my skin. I smile and hold it up to my face. "Hey, little guy." HONK. "I like you to. I'm gonna call you Spreadsheets." HONK HONK. I took that as a yes. And then it started. The rain, a crackle of thunder. The wind speed picked up, and the thought of entrepreneurship passed my mind once more, but I couldn't focus on that when Tyler's kilt was being blown up. I had never really seen it, actually. It had been dark and not a lot of time was spent with it outside my body, so I didn't really get a nice look at it. I'd need further inspection later, that was for sure. A cackle rang out from behind me, and I was pretty sure it was someone agreeing with my thoughts, but when I turned it wasn't a person. A misty animal ran around, chasing its tail and laughing. When it saw me looking at it questioningly, it stopped, perked up, and cackled even more. I was pretty sure it was called a hyena, but I had obviously never seen a hyena and further never seen an animal formed of mist during a lightning storm that for some reason only took place atop my allies' heads. But I wasn't much for caring about specifics and details when I could die at any minute, and that's why I turned my attention away from the ghostly hyena guffawing beside me while slightly nuzzling into my leg or the localized torrential downpour and instead focused on catching Spreadsheets a friend. "Can't have just one of you guys around. You need a flock. Isn't that right, buddy?" HONK!

Daria Staite {district four tribute}

.:: Felt it in my fist, in my feet,  in the hollows of my eyelids Shaking through my skull, through my spine and down through my ribs ::.

Daria ran ahead, the long tall grass danced around her in a swirling motion, the grass swelled and tumbled like the ocean as it brushed against her pale legs; the grass felt sharp against her cold legs. Her hands burnt, they felt hot to the touch- especially her finger tips- like flames of a candle. They were scolded by the chilly air, who’s being wrapped its arms around Daria, cocooning her in the kind of cold that doesn’t feel that bad until there is a gust of wind and your whole body screams out in retaliation. Not even on the nights where winter storms were bought in by winds from far off places, had she felt such a cold. If she had had a mirror to admire herself in, Daria would have seen that her nose was turning the softest shade of pink. The girl, so small, nearly drowning in the grass sea that surrounded her, paused for a moment to breathe in. Her storm swelled, there was a moment where she feared its ferocity would return but as soon as she exhaled, there was a stillness in amongst the churning waves. She couldn’t quite understand why she were so calm, her storm should have been tearing her apart from the inside out but it wasn’t; at least it wasn’t right now. She wondered if she was numb, numb after drawing blood, numb after seeing a dead body for the first time in real life. It wasn’t the same when she saw it on the screen, this was raw, like a festering wound that would never heal; it was poisonous and a killer. And one day it would kill her too. Daria let out a soft breath as she felt the wind and sleet caress her face, gently, softly. Then she felt rain and the tickle of static electricity in the air. She opened her eyes and the heavens opened and within seconds, she was drenched with ice cold rain. She let out a little cry, scampering backwards in an attempt to avoid the downpour which swirled around her and her allies. What in the name of Ripred? Daria thought as the storm formed around them, torrential rain soaking her even further than her clothes. Her brow furrowed slight, as she watched her allies in the freak rain storm; but her frown worsened when she saw a mist beginning to form in the distance. It was, urethral, ghostly, silver and shining, it was beautiful and what came from the mysterious fog was surprising. A small fox, slender and agile, came bounding out the fog right towards the girl from four. Daria had not ever seen a fox in real life, she’d read about them in books but she knew very little about the creature; she did not know that in ancient times the fox was a symbol of passion, action and play. Daria did not much feel like playing when the animal danced around her legs before coming to a stop at her feet, sitting like a dog. She stared down at it in disbelief. The creature had an odd, silver glow to it, it was enticing. Carefully, she reached out to the touch the creature. The fire-red fur did not feel as she had imagined, it felt..unusual. Unusual is the only way Daria could describe it but the creatures presence was welcoming. She smiled a little before looking at Heather and Tyler. She watched as they leapt into the air to grab birds- Words- that fluttered over head in the sudden rain storm. Daria watched them try and fail and succeed and decided that she might as well give it a go. Readying herself, taking a glance at her fox friend, Daria jumped and reached out to grab the bird.
